At that time modal theory was still used. The scale started normally with A, without any sharps or flats. When a composer chose to begin at the 4th step D there was still no sharp/flat. So starting at G or C was considered a transposition of that D mode, with one flat less than we would write today. Our present system was established by Rameau in about 1730, well after Vivaldi composed most of his music
Vivaldi is a master at intertwining melodies.
Perfectly placed notes pleasing to the ear.
come backk!!
What Op is this?? I've never heard it!
This is so similar to what would later become more western music, but also totally baroque
Perhaps you mean classical instead of western. How is baroque not western
Thank you for uploading. My favorite RV118. From 37°C Tokyo.
Bit hot to play
Why title says c minor but the score signature is g minor?
Wonder why it's written for C minor but the key signature is in G minor? Was notation not formalised at the time? Or some other historical reason?🤔
