Barenreiter Verlag should have their new edition of all of Vivaldi's l'estro armonico complete w/ Keyboard Reduction, & an easy to play Continuo Realization.
Does anyone know why the violas play B flat instead of B natural (as written in the score) around 1:51? I looked around and saw a couple of other recordings that did the same and I'm wondering if my ears are just hearing it wrong lol.
@@vivaldissheetmusic The audio is PLAYING Bb; the score has B natural. (The figured bass says Bb - though that's all written very unconventionally.) You can argue either way...
Harmonically B flat is correct, as B natural would collide with the subsequent D minor entrance of the subject, creating a harmonic mistake called "tritone false relation". My opinion is, this particolar edition of the score is incorrect here
My middle school students played the hell out of this. I love Vivaldi
Wish my high schoolers could play this 😂
One of my favorite Vivaldi concertos.
Historical masterpiece Fasano

Bellissimo... Uno dei tanti capolavori del Grande Vivaldi!!!!
This is a banger
The rhythmic patterns to analyze in that first movement is insane. I am inspired to make a video on it.
❤😊Devine music 🎼, always a dream to play at any cathedral churches ⛪️ in Europe either Vivaldi or Bach 🙏🎻🎶💐🥰
Es una belleza del principio al fin ! . GRACIAS ! por compartírnoslo !
Maravillo concierto, gracias

For some reason, the cello and contrabass’ entrance in measure 20 makes me think of vikings riding through the forest chasing a boar.
AD ASTRA MAESTRO!
Who is this amazing orchestra and solists ???????

🎉
Beautiful playing, any information about the performers please?

Reminds more of Bach's style.
Maybe because it is a fugue. Or at least similar to a fugue (unfortunately, I am no specialist enough to state this).

This is a famous Vivaldi's fugue , no doubt , Vivaldi made other fugues my favorite is in RV 120
Bach transcribed this concerto for organ
@Mhdfrb99 pretty sure it's a fugue, what makes you think it's a canzona?
Bach drew much inspiration from Vivaldi

The violas are playing in B natural
They play B flat as it should be

First time I think I ever heard a Vivaldi fugue. Not as complex as Bach but still executed well
