My cat just did the 2nd one today. This time outside on the deck, but earlier on the wood floor, thankfully. So a pretty good day. He usually does it on a rug. The other week the first time we found it on our bed.
With my cats, birds rarely stand a chance to stand down before they are captured and tortured to death. My cats have no interest in chasing bunnies or field mice,etc. Those creatures will run but the cats are faster. They only go for the birds. Maybe it's the challenge.

There also seems to be this kidney shaped organ she leaves in a bloody pool on the regular not sure what it belongs to. yesterday the squirrel was obviously dead for a while before she drug its headless body into my garage to be found by my olfactory senses and I must say it was pungent.
This cat is so like my 8kilo Black and White, Woosi. He can come on my roof garden, but he wants to eat cat grass - just enough to vomit later. My cats usually get a treat if they play enough.

He reminds me of my cat "Star". He was a classic tuxedo marked cat, with one black spot on his white cheek. He weighed 20 pounds. Mom kept feeding him extra after she started getting Alzheimers. Then I found it hard to get him to lose weight because he would eat leftovers from my other cat's dishes before I could stop him. I just gave up. He lived to be 16.
