Wassup FOXY 👍 This is a really good technical video for Advanced MK heads. Highly recomend to learn each animation and their frame data and behaviour👍 Knowing when it's your go is a major factor in who combos and wins. Real good watch 👍
That example about being safe off a low with a throw is a good tip. You all can take unsafe moves and make them safer with certain cameos like Cyraxs Copterchopter or Kano ball cos they give you 'Pushback or being + frame' a safe advantage 👍
“The only thing they think about is SUFFERING “ LOL love this video. I never understood frames that well but i just played safe whenever we exchange hits i try not to mash just block dash back and do a string as he meshes
I’ve been playing MK since it came out in the arcade and stopped at MK3, so it’s been a while. I always thought I was good but I was just mashing buttons and special moves. I started playing ranked and this week and just got absolutely wrecked. Like over 100 losses in the first week wrecked. I did the tutorials, practiced kombos for a couple hours, watched this video to make sense of how to tie all that in and actually play the game vs real opponents. Do that and save yourself the frustration and feeling of regret for spending so much on a video game. Once you learn your main and beat that guy who keeps beating your ass, you feel good about the $70 or $110 preorder you made 😂
Nice video Foxy. Is there a chance you could make one on how to get better and how to lab footsies. I understand the frame data and it's importance but footsies blow me up. Specially against characters with long range or long advancing moves. How to get better at neutral?
Toilet Terry's Terrific Tutorials. Bro I'm really glad you have a YT channel i love watching you play and hope to square off against you again outside of KL. Love your jokes too bruh

One thing i struggle with is opening up my opponent. I play liu kang, and i find it hard to covert into a combo. I can always grab, but i feel bad if i spam them.
You can’t punish with a jab because of the push back that occurs on block. It puts you out of range of punishing. Also, even if there wasn’t any push back, jabs are highs. They could just mash D1 again and your jab would get punished because it’s going to whiff
Nice to have an explanation of this! Hey, would you want to play sometime? It's BooRadley from EVO, the Kitana player. I don't know where else to get in touch with you, but if you'd like to have some matches let me know :)

I think haviks roll is mid, and you can dodge Reiko's grab by jumping or crouching without blocking (unless enhanced because it's a mid but that cost 2 bars). The main thing with command grabs is that they can't do them while the enemy is in block or hit frames (unless in a juggle combo), so the best thing to do is after they hit you with a block string gain distance or use a fast attack to force them to block before they can grab you. Realistically though, it's basically another mix-up you have to deal with
Thanks so much for your videos . Out of interest if you go against some that just crouch blocks and mashes down+1. . . How do you open them up? Seems very hard to get past. Like you can block and hit a down 1 back but what then? You try any string and their down + 1 just have you out of it
If you check them with a d1 you should be able to jail them with a high like a string starting with standing 1. Highs can be ducked but if you are say +10 and do a 7 frame high the opponent is forced to block the high - which is called jailing (this concept is in the tutorials in MK1). You can also start with a string that is a mid or even take a few steps back and whiff punish their missed D1 mash with a forward advancing move
@@miks2421 reversal throw will usually beat out a poke depending how minus the string is , you can take your turn back with your own poke , or if you know there going to mash you can back dash at the end of there string they whiff there poke and you punish them for it
There's a couple different ways. Wake-up back dash, or an Armor EX attack, you can jump, flawless block and poke the throw. Kameo's can save you in MK1 depending on who you chose. Scorpion has a way to pull you straight back out of enemy range so you can punish with a projectile. Be creative. 👍🤙
If you mean they are doing a high starter, then do a move that makes you low to go under (low jab, uppercut). If you mean the opponent is mashing low jab after their safe string, which is beating out your high (same thing, they're going under you), block the low job and you'll have enough of an advantage to choose between going for a high starter or mid starter. Mind you if they're mashing low jab, your high will probably get beat out again. The freest way to beat low jab mashers is to block one, do your mid starter, then full combo. Hope this helps
I had a 70% win ratio with Shao Kahn in MK11 , in this game i just cant grasp it , the kameos and pokes being like -8 . Time to put down the controller for me 😐
Your d2 shouldn't whiff against air punch attacks unless you're timing/spacing it wrong. For example if you're d2 is whiffing short then you need to microdash forward before you do it. Against jumping kicks I think that's what up-blocks are for, since jump kicks beat out d2s most of the time.
