The BOA systems have been used in golf shoes for a long time now and it’s fantastic. Glad to see AS use this technology as it really makes for an easier and safer feel/system. I’ll be a pair for sure. If only you used a cheaper carrier to reach Australia. 👍😎🇦🇺
@@sportbiketrackgear Absolutely! I import and export items daily. I can also get the same items you stock from other American companies at a fraction of the costs when you try and buy from your company. That’s America to Australia. I’d prefer to buy from and support you however your prices quoted are still much higher than your competitors.
I recieved a pair of these, wish I had watched your video sooner. I was excited to put them on, i have wide feet, and was perplexed. "how am i supposed to get my foot in there."? I was ready to send them back and thought i would give it another try. the tab on the back and getting the boa to loosest point is the trick. thanks for the review.
You need shoe horn to wear these boots. Loosen the string, place the shoe horn in place, pull up the tab on the back & slide your foot in. Without shoe horn its almost impossible.
trying to decide between these and the dainese d1 pro while they are the same price. I got to try these on at a shop today but they didnt have any dainese products sadly. I like the dainese look much more but hear the toes can be a bit tight.
Ooo…. I like the look of these. Question if I may please, urban use. How comfortable are they off the bike for walking around with or staying on at work? Could you do a ride to work, wear them at work for the day and ride home? Assuming generic office style work… thanks
While I will say these are comfortable to walk around in I would not wear them all day at work. This is pretty much a race boot minus the full length upper. - Van
I recently purchased the Smx-1 V2 and I like them. The only thing I saw wrong with them is that without laces they can be pulled off the foot without loosening the zipper. Do these feel like they will stay on the foot?
Is the synthetic leather-substitute lorica? Do these boots flow any air? There appears to be a few mesh-like holes. Good review, as ever. Happy New Year, Van and Van.
Lots of airflow with these considering the perforation and the inner sock is designed to flow air. Like most boots this is a microfiber material that is used in most boots as it has proven to work better than leather. - Van
Hey, im struggling with Alpines sizing. Their size chart is a complete mess. Please tell me if those short boots are equal to SMX boots size or riding shoes that run size smaller.
I feel like these run true to size while the SMX boots typically run a size larger than marked. In these I wear a 46 Euro, in the SMX and Supertech I wear a 45 Euro. Hope this helps. - Van
What's the CE rating? Never understood why you can't even find that information on the manufacturers websites easily. Makes it a PITA to shop for boots online.
This is an EU thing that has some traction here in the US as it does help to ensure the products are up to the task. Not sure why more is not explained by the brands producing the products and submitting them for testing. - Van
brian... do you like these more than the Alpinestars rt-8 boots.? I have wide feet also... which is more comfortable for day to day riding. are these boots lite?
I got a comfortable fit from both. The biggest difference between these boots is the SP2 are ventilated and the RT8 are waterproof. IMO a vented boot is more comfortable to wear for extended periods because of the increased airflow. - Van
If you feel like you need to have a vented pair then you should go that route. I have ridden in vented and non vented models of the same boot and was good to go either way. We are all different. - Van
Thank you for another great review!!!! How would you compare these to the Dainese Dyno Pro D1 Shoes? I'm looking for a good short boot for street riding.

When it comes to footwear Alpinestars is very hard to beat. - Van
I wish they would offer them in more color choices. Black and black with small red accents is kind boring.
At this time these are available only in black. If these sell well I would not be surprised to see them offered in other colors. - Van
I have the alpinestars sp-1 v2 shoes and the sole wore out quick on them. Especially the heel. How is the sole on these as far as wearing out?

The Boa lacing system will allow you to really customize the fit and help hold them in place. - Van
Hi, how would you compare the level of protection of these versus full boots like the smx6 v2?
I would say the protection of these is equal to or exceeds that of the SMX 6 V2 in the areas they cover. - Van
@@sportbiketrackgear ok thanks, so the level of protection on this shoes is higher tan the other smx-1 r v2?
@@sportbiketrackgeareven in the ankle area?

Are they good summer boots ?

Hi van, im wearing size us 10 eu 43 in drystar alpinestar casual boots what size will you recomend on this boots?thank you in advance.
I would suggest sticking with the 43 Euro with these as well. Tons of adjustability to dial in the fit on these. - Van
How Well Would These Function if I Walked on a Tile Floor after I Rode My Bike?
Would it Be Like Walking in a Football Cleat?
I walked around in these and found the sole to have plenty of grip and comfort. - Van

What certificate? Level 1 or 2 ?
Would these be okay in summer heat?

Could I wear these casually as a walking shoe?
Once you reach your destination they are comfortable enough to walk around in for sure. - Van

@@Nobody-dc8dp no, why would you want to do that?

I hate the pull, anyone else ever have it get looped on the foot peg?
