I went to these from the awesomely comfortable Sidi Gas. They’re a bit taller but super comfortable and the ride knit really works. I can feel a steady breeze coming in when I ride and it’s great in the heat of summer. Overall an awesome riding shoe for the street. And they look good in my opinion. The only thing I did, which is something I do to all lace up riding shoes is replaced the laces with slide lock or sport laces. I’m paranoid about the laces catching on a peg and taking me down, plus it makes putting them on quick and easy
I have the rideknit version bit there is no ventilation at all, just like they where made of leather. Even tried to blow trough the mesh with my air compressor, but no luck…
I took the laces out and replaced them with sport laces that have the little pinch lock on them. I tighten them up and put the strap over the lock thingy
The Rideknit technology that they used is the difference, its an abrasion resistant mesh that allows a lot of air flow through without being so much of a weak point in the event of an accident like regular mesh can be. The Sektors are a bit shorter around the ankles and don't have as much heel reinforcement, so the Faster 3s are a bit more protective. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-faster-3-rideknit-shoes *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-sektor-vented-shoes
@@RevZilla Thank you, Drew! Maybe this one's like comparing apples and oranges but how do the Faster 3 compare to the TCX Street Ace Air Shoes in terms of protection?
Unfortunately, no, we don't have anything that will fit as wide as a 4E. These have a slightly wider width though. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-faster-3-rideknit-shoes *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-faster-3-drystar-shoes
anyone have these or the rideknit ones and can tell me if the bottom is susceptible to burning? the bottom of my right shoes keep getting burned from my M4 exhaust being like an inch below my right rearset
If you rest any rubber-based sole used in most motorcycle boots directly on a hot exhaust, they will melt and these RideKnits are no exception to that. That is just unfortunately one of the things you need to consider for your bike's exhaust location. Outside of adding a heat shield to your exhaust, this will be an issue with the boots you choose with almost all that we offer. Can you please drop the links for those two different laces.
@@Jeffc288 I actually buy them at Walmart in the shoe area. I’m sure you can get them on Amazon or anywhere online
@@RapidRedRider thank you! I’m a have to check them out. Are they pretty tight like normal laces?
@@Jeffc288 yeah they have the little piece that you squeeze and slide into place and it locks it in. I’ve never had them come loose on me
@@Jeffc288 i left you a link but its not showing up for me. The ones i use are Kiwi No-tie sport laces
Some days you want to look like a squid, some days you don’t...but you always want CE protection.
How do they compare to the Alpinestars SP-1 V2 in terms of comfort and protection?
Thanks
I find Alpinestars run a bit small. I usually wear a size 43 but in Alpinestars I’m a 44.

Anyone know how stiff these are in the outer ankle area. I have a metal plate on my fibula and it’s easily irritated.

I got them last week... I love them, they are super comfortable... Just one question... How do you guys place the laces to not be in the way?
You can tie them and tuck them to the side of the tongue, but as long as they are behind the velcro flap they will be just fine for your controls.
@@RevZilla great...I tucked them on the ankle side, but that made it a bit uncofortable ...I will tuck them behind the flap from now on
I took the laces out and replaced them with sport laces that have the little pinch lock on them. I tighten them up and put the strap over the lock thingy
Double knotting helps cut some of the extra slack. May help, not sure!
Have you seen the USMC boot strings tuck? Put knots at the end of both strings, tie them then pull the strings up to the knots, now tuck.
How is the grip on these shoes? Will they keep your feet planted without bending on the pegs? Thanks!

What happened to the original guy that talked super fast?!
Kyckling - some say he is still talking...
Yea we miss Anthony

To those who own this. Does it break in after a while? I ride euc, not motorcycles. I tried a few like this and its super stiff
How do they compare to the Alpinestars Sektor Vented Shoes, especially in terms of protection?

Impact protection is very similar between those two, though the abrasion resistance is better for the leather Street Ace. -DrewZilla
