    I absolutely adore how they do the scene with the two fish talking. Lol sometimes I wonder if/ how much animals talk and tell stories about us humans when we aren't around. Or when we're not aware of it. ☺️

    Lucille Ball was their "landlady" as she owned (still with Desi then) Desilu. She was watching Mary on the catwalk and motioned to tell MTM: "you're very good" - Mary claimed that was one of the highlights of her entire career.

      Too bad Lucille Ball never guest starred on the show.

    Great episode on perspective. One perspective pro Rob and the other pro Laura. In the end loving compromise instead of modern day domestic violence.

    • @themaggattack
      @themaggattack 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you think domestic violence is just a modern day thing? They just covered it up, ignored it, or simply accepted it as normal back then. The Honey Mooners were always jokingly alluding to domestic violence: "straight to the moon, Alice" ... "POW, right in the kisser." Ricky was always "spanking" Lucy.
      I love all those old shows, but they weren't exactly non-violent.
      Rob and Laura were actually a much needed progressive example of a healthy relationship.

    But why did Mary Tyler Moore have last billing, behind Larry Mathews?

    • @RanaDesuky
      @RanaDesuky 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      im guessing because it wouldn't make sense for it to end with "And Larry Matthews." They needed to end with a BANG so they pushed her name to the end.

    One thing I didn't like about this episode is this does not seem like their character on the show, it seems like the writers of the show wrote this episode to let people know that no marriage is perfect. and there will be arguments and disagreements sometimes

      Carmencita Davis Yes! The difference is to learn from it if a couple wishes to. How to make up for having disappointed each other once reunited from their separate roles throughout part of the day. That’s where love & forgiveness comes in & can show its strength & pardon.

    • @themaggattack
      @themaggattack 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well I guess you loathed Dennis the Menace, then! 😆
      Seriously though, are you all from the "Children should be seen and not heard" era? Jeeze. Kids make messes, break stuff, and are loud sometimes. So do Adults!! Nobody's perfect.
      At first I thought he told Laura to "shut up" about the shaving cream, but I think he said "it shot off." I'm not sure though. In any case, he was being annoying and inconsiderate.
      Anyway, I liked how they extended forgiveness, patience, understanding, grace and love to each other AND to their child at the end.
      Rob saved the "loud conversation" with Richie over the spelling test for after they enjoyed their dinner. They weren't being permissive with him, just not overly punishing him for making some mistakes.
      (Also, he probably spoke loudly because the director told him to project his voice to be heard in front of the live audience. If you notice, all kids spoke really loudly on T.V. and film back then. I think the directors wanted to make sure they got their lines across.)
