The door mix-up gag here at 18:15 is brilliant...of a 1001 details that made this one of the best sit-com shows of all time and though it is a definite history piece at this stage the comedy holds up. DVDS still laugh out loud funny, great talented cast.
This is one of my favorite episodes. It reminds me a bit of those great Fraiser episodes where Fraiser and Niles team up on some project (running a restaurant, writing a book) and it all ends in disaster! One reason is probably the sharp lines between the two guys after they're soaked and furious. Rob to Jerry: "I'm through taking orders from u Captain Queeg!" Jerry on Rob, "He couldn't be the Chief Steward on the Good Ship Lollipop!"
Omg the Frasier episode when they are trying to write the book is hilarious. I love the part where Frasier's trying to strangle Niles, and Niles says, "I'm having a flashback of you climbing into my crib and jumping on me!" And Frasier yells, "You stole my mommy!"
the great Howard Morris from Sid Caesar's show directed ths somewhat static camera and the scene breakdowns are reminiscent of early TV. It is one of my favorite episodes.
You're right, poetcomic, the camera work is a bit Hill Street Blueish; and IMHO, significantly ahead of its time. But I don't understand your "Scene Breakdown" comment. If I'm not mistaken, a Scene Breakdown or script breakdown is when you organize what you need for each scene before filming the actual scenes. i.e., When you're breaking down multiple scenes in *pre*-production.
Always loved this one, definitely in the (my) top ten episodes of this show. In a show of this caliber, in an era when a series had 25-30 episodes a year, that's saying something.
If Rob wants to go with Jerry on a boat, then Laura should take the same amount that Rob spends and she can buy herself something really nice. So Laura just leaves Richie by himself while she and Millie go to get Rob and Gerry. Bad scene for sure.
They have a babysitter they always call. It was a young girl in the begining and a young boy later on. It is assumed they called their babysitter whom they always call.
“I don’t know how sheep stand each other in the rainy season.” That line had me laughing SO HARD!!! 🤣🤣🤣
That was a good one! The good Ole days when tv sitcoms were good and entertaining.
20:00 "Oh, bow shmow Jerry! I was at the pointy end of the boat where I was supposed to be!" This episode has so many nuggets of humor. 😆
I love what Millie says, " Jerry's going to be playing Navy all week!"😁😁😁😁😁

I wonder how many takes it took to do that impressive door mixup? One more thing to make this a favorite! 👏♥️🙂

A great out-of-the-ordinary episode. Hilarious! Thanks and blessings for sharing this. 🙏👏👍👍🙂
This is such a good show

Howard Morris also played Ernest T. Bass on The Andy Griffith Show.

@@MrMenefrego1 Probably the wrong word.

Gotta love it.
Funny that Jerry Paris being compared to Captain Queeg - Jerry Paris had a prominent role in The Caine Mutiny movie.
The ending was great 😁
This is a fave episode of mine 😊
Thank you so much for uploading these. SO entertaining and such memories. Truly classic television.
I don't know how sheep can stand each other during rainy season. Had to pause the video.
I always wanted to get the beautiful “flip” hairstyle that Laura wore.
They were very popular then. (I was in high school at the time.)
@@leestamm3187 me too
Jerry's cap looks like an authentic WWII Navy peaked cap. Jerry Paris was in the Navy in WWII - maybe it was his cap!
It may have been the one he wore in The Cane Mutiny movie with Humphrey Bogart and Fred McMurray and Van Jhonson
Jerry Paris was particularly funny in this episode.
You have to wonder who was on the cast or writing staff that had a bad experience with a boat.
Millie was very pretty here and I love her little natical motif outfit. I know Laura is a beauty but Millie does all right!
Laura's character is such a. Lovely wife
Not really. If she doesn't get her way, she's a witch.
@@kimberlytyrcha5930 kinda like your mom!!
@@czoduqa ....You know nothing about my mom.
@@kimberlytyrcha5930 Why do you watch this show if you hate Laura? You call her a witch on almost every episode.
Rob's deck shoes are amazing
I wanna see Laura's deck shoes.
Jerry : Robs lack of maritime knowledge is a valuable stupidity.
Directed by Ernest T. Bass😊
...'but not to you!...well said Laura for women everywhere!
When Laura doesn't get her way, she's a witch.
I wonder if Laura hates Rob more after they get married or when they first meet. It's kinda hard to tell to be honest.
QUIT INTERRUPTING!! 😐

He was probably over at Millie's house.
Millie and Laura would NEVER leave their kids all by themselves for who knows how long. Especially at night. 😳

👎 Love the show
HORRIBLE episode!
"Rob, did you buy it, or were you commissioned?" 😅🩷🤣🩵😂
