some people are more accustomed to noisier, frightening music. i always thought of this song as a kind of vetting system; if you cant stomach city song than you dont deserve to listen to the rest of the album
The first snare always gives a slight scare! edit: He says "The air shrieks/ the breath is long/ and the fires are out/ the waters sit still. The whole album is almost perfect. Basically a masterpiece.
Nice! This is the first song on the album and it's quite something, definitely a grower. The transition between this and the next song (Long Road, No Turns) is amazing!
this album is a 10/10 for me, their self titled is up there as well. but I think their album Hell Songs is incredibly underrated and one of the most enjoyable and exciting listens you can have. specifically "recorded inside a pyramid". goes more in the mathcore/grindcore direction rather than noise rock but I think it's one of their best.
That's the first song most people I know like by Daughters, makes sense though since its in 4/4 time signature and has more straight forward guitar riffs than just noise. Definitely a great album though.
Daughters are incredible. They constantly evolve with every album. Check out 'The First Supper' which is the second track from their self-titled album. The sonics are crushingly heavy, but in a way that's unique to most 'heavy' music.
@@tobiasclarkmusic3758 their 2006 album Hell Songs is a fucking revelation. People are sleeping on that. Fiery and Pyramid Song are worth the price of admission alone.
Thanks for checking this video out man! I can't wait to listen to more of it either haha, I checked out Guest House a while ago on this channel, but I'll have to listen to more for sure!
When the most demented heavy sound ever came in at 6:00 bro didn't even blink that part blew me away

Yeah man haha, I jumped out of my skin. And I'm definitely gonna have to listen to the full thing soon, I'm really liking what I'm hearing!

Oh and you should turn up the volume of the song a little bit
@@Plsticc Yeah I really enjoyed this tune! And thanks for the feedback, I'll do just that haha

Satan In The Wait is the jam of all jams off this album.
"That's a ten"
satan in the wait is exceptional, but as far as jams on a noise rock album go, "Daughter" has it beat.

They're such an interesting band man, I'll definitely check this out!

6:03 every time i hear this part i picture in my head the scene in AKIRA where the city explodes haha.
I subscribed when you compared the droning synth to eraserhead - one of my favourite films. cheers!
Funny. I did that too
Great reaction, you should react to their song "Our Queens" on their self-titled album. Its their heaviest song imo.
:)
The only reason I’m disliking is because you didn’t give that massive breakdown at the end the shock it deserved
