Not the best even in Experimental/avant-garde rap ( Oblivion Access, Aquemini,Hello Nasty, MBDTF, Yeezus,Veteran by JPEG,Madvillainy,Circle by DoseOne and Boom Bip,Bottle of Humans by Sole) and took an inspiration from MBDTF about self-criticizm but it's definitely one of the best rap for the last 20 years but not the best
Wow, glad to see you reacting to this classic! I remember when my grandpappy first showed me this album. Lean Beef Patty was the marriage song of him and my grandmammy. Just watching the video I was flooded with memories of my childhood, staying in the old shack. Dancing to Fentanyl Tester, "Jack Harlow Combo Meal" were my first words no joke. Glad to see this classic being spread to a new generation 🙏

idk why, but I love the way "JPEGMAFIA, Danny Brown, redveil" looks. like it's like it goes from "ALL CAPS To all lowercase" with Danny's name being an in-between sorta. they had to have known it would be laid out like that. I just love the aesthetic for some reason

It is astounding how much they fit into each song and even when a song begins to lose its magic, it switches up and pulls you back in. 9/10.

still hoping we can get an Earl sweatshirt, his album "I dont like sh*t, I dont go outside" is such a raw and honest album, i think path would genuinely really love the writing and story telling and emotion put into every song
As far as being raw and honest I feel like Some Rap Songs executed that better. Also think production is more interesting. Either way both great records.
I honestly think she should listen to MF DOOM first. Earl is heavily influenced by him, you can just hear it in the way he raps.
@@johann392 if youve listened to any of Earls newer songs, his MF influences has very much dropped off. Obviously its still there but he is much closer to artists Mike nowadays, he really only had that MF flow and sound earl on in his music career

If this is the first album you've heard from Danny Brown in full please listen to Atrocity Exhibition. It's considered one of the best albums of the 2010s for a reason.

Also if you follow Danny Browns story this album feels like such a triumphant moment for him, it’s a perfect partnership with Peggy

I literally felt a tear escape my eye when I heard the sample on HOE (Heaven On Earth), only because it was so beautifully arranged. I can’t remember that ever happening to me with any other song and I’m a 30 year old fucking music nerd. I’ve listened to way more music than the average person.
Amazing album. Each song feels new with each listen which is really something I've never experienced in rap
I love this project so much I think it's my favorite so far in 2023. I have it on repeat ever since it dropped and just love how Danny works so well with Peggy. Really hope we get more music from them and you should check out Danny's older work too. His albums uknowwhatimsayin¿, Atrocity Exhibition, and his mixtape (I belive it's a mixtape) XXX are all good project by Danny and I think they are worth checking out even if not for a reaction video.

Care for Me by Saba would be a great album to react to. So much emotion comes through in Saba’s writing and storytelling and the album deals a lot with him processing the death of his cousin who he was incredibly close with.

This album is so good, its actually insane. It has not left my rotation since it came out.
Peggy also has hella wrestling references in his songs, off this album i can think of Tony Khan and Hulk Hogan, but he also references AJ Styles in Baby, I’m bleeding, “got so many styles, they should call me Peggy AJ.” And his “you think you know me” sound bite in many of his songs is the start to Edge’s theme from the WWE

my first time listening to this album on the morning it came out, i was giddy with happiness. i really like this album
I love the way your videos are structured! This album brought me here and it's wild how in a few seconds I'm given more context to the music but then PEGGY comes in hard and the difference between your voice and his music just made me laugh - I'm grooving when the beat drops but then ".. Oh cool. Didn't know that". Watched your Lil Yachty video and caught that maybe you haven't listened to as much rock but these are my recommendations. It's no psych rock like Tame Impala (Yatchy's coollab def inspired him I swear lol) but my favs are:
- Radiohead (Just incredibly talented musicians making really relatable and beautiful music that has transformed and influenced so many artists)
-> Okay Computer
-> Kid A
-> In Rainbows (Sorry it's impossible to recommend a single Radiohead album)
- Low Hum (Alt Rock)
-> Room to Breathe (His lyrics are decent but his compositions and production are so grimy, lo-fi and sometimes soothing. His riffs are BANGERS but he likes to incorporate synths too)
- Uchu Conbini
-> 月の反射でみてた (This is math rock but I've been listening to this for 5 years and still appreciate how complex the songs are melodically and rhythmically. They've disbanded since but still a joy to listen to)
Anyway it's always nice to see someone genuinely enjoying an album for the first time especially when it's so good. A+ Commentary and very informative. You've got a thing going with your editing for sure!

I’m really looking forward to seeing your thoughts and all, with this being such a frantic, almost scattered sound. I still really enjoyed it, despite never being a fan of peggy, probably biased if I’m being honest. This album felt like it opened the doors to a new side of music i was closing out. Muddy Waters... Redman reference? I love that album. Redman has always been underrated but I love that Eminem has given him credit before as a top emcee.
It's so weird seeing someone so innocent react to their music lol. They both do a lot of drugs and drinking. Danny is 42 now though. He said he's tired so he went to rehab for a month and has stopped drinking. I'm happy for the dude. It definitely gets to a point where the drugs aren't fun anymore and it becomes a habit. So good on him. Peggy I think is still young lol. Let him have more fun. But I have a feeling he'll slow down one day too.
