      10 is best? - then, after careful and just consideration...I'd give it...0. I pity the actors, though. I mean, imagine all the training, the hopes...one day you're gonna have this role...this difficult character...lots going on...and you make it shine!
      And then you end up in something like this.

      @hfar_in_the_sky 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +38

      @@YAH93 Depends on the DM's ruling. The official description for the slingshot doesn't actually lay out what counts as ammunition other than a "small, hard object." A more hardass DM would probably claim something like only rocks or purchased ammunition counts, but I feel like most DM's would rule in favor of something like a head of garlic being viable ammunition. Might scale down the damage though since it's not a conventional projectile

    I love how once the battle is going with everyone at once, you really can appreciate the old DnD rules that every 'turn' is only 6 seconds long. Dungeons and Dragons fights are pretty crazy if you put all actions into an actual viewable fight.

      They even got the detail right where the Bard, being the only member of the party who doesn't have an extra attack/twinned spell decides to instead run around the map wasting their action economy doing meaningless "I'm helping!" tasks out of pure dice roll economic envy. But it works out anyways because of course it does, they are a Bard.

      In the big brawl at the end it seems like she is casting Gust of Wind to push people away. She uses Telekinesis on the axe. The sorcerer throws out some Ray of Frost shots, Scorching Ray, Lightning Bolt, and they are all missed or she counters with a Shield spell. Obviously she uses Time Stop, and the sorc also uses Counterspell.@@SwordWieldingDuck
      I really like that she uses high level spells like Resilient Sphere, Animate Objects, and of course Time Stop, while the sorcerer guy sticks to lower level stuff for the most part like Scorching Ray and Counterspell. This fight portrayed really well how DM's run powerful Wizards fighting against overwhelming odds. All wizards choose the tactically biggest threats & focus there. Doric/Moon Druid & Simon/Wild Magic Sorcerer definitely qualify as major threats. Now that's not to say that Holga/Barbarian is not a threat. Barbarians are scary for their physical prowess, but not their mental prowess, and that's what Wizards prey on. So it was fitting that Sofina just occupied them with spells like Animate Object & Otiluke's Resilient Sphere to keep the "annoyances" (Edgin & Holga) busy while she focused on Doric & Simon.

      @BlueGoblin1 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Yeah, the Barbarian is the biggest threat on the field. They would be able to grapple the wizard with no problem and end her life real quick. She would not be able to cast spells as every time she did the axe would come down on her head to disrupt it. I did this as a barbarian to a druid boss and it was very underwhelming for the GM. Granted nowadays My Barbarian was becoming useless in combat except to take hits. As the enemies do so much damage that I am basically dead after I deliver one blow. So I had to retrain my barbarian to dish out as much damage as possible in a single attack so I can be sure to leave a mark before I drop like a sack of potatoes. Word of advice never design your character to be flexible just focus on doing one thing really well otherwise you will find yourself not measuring up to more powerful opponents.

      (Simon's player gives the dice roll)
      DM: "As you notice the bubble of bottled time bulge towards you, its walls walking faster than you can run, Simon's hands move again. Simon. You remember the last encounter with her. You feel the weight of the spell as the bubble engulfs you, and every one of you start to feel as if the world around you is slowing to a halt. And... "
      (DM grins)

    People tend to forget that wizards are fragile in the first few levels of their adventure but once they get a few mobility spells like misty step and a solid few damage spells they can be a devistating thorn in any BBEG's side.

    The fact that they choreographed this as an actual combat scenario is so well done, down to the bard using his movement speed to help the barbarian then leaves the melee range without disengaging and takes the attack of opportunity (which misses). Its just so brilliant. I fully would believe that the writers of this show played out the battle in game before choreographing everything

    When I watched this movie with my dad, my genuine first thought was that the cast ran a DnD campaign as their characters with someone on the crew being DM *at some point* to bring everything together. Because this movie was just too fun and well put together to not have been a campaign OR for the cast/crew not to have some previous understanding of Dungeons and Dragons. If not, then more power to the cast and crew for making this genuinely feel like a DnD campaign! ❤❤
