omg Laura's face when she decided the one at a time meatball ain't gonna work for her HAHA. I love you Laura !! and I'm so excited that you're showing. you're gonna be a great mama
I'm Swedish and yes - I love meatballs! I'd say this recipe is actually very similar to the "standard" recipe we use in Sweden, though obviously there are also lots of variations. :) This video made me long for Christmas even more than I already am! In Sweden meatballs is one of the most important parts of Christmas lunch/dinner. :)
Grafer90 APB How do you make it? :) The recipe I usually use is pretty much like Laura's, although I often don't make the sauce and I don't think mine calls for as much onion, although I usually add a bunch anyway. :P
These are as far from swedish meatballs as earth is from sun... no milk , use cream and you need to mix that with wooden spoon until it is like paste.. these are meatballs sure but not swedish ones..
I'm Norwegian so it's cool to see Scandinavian food on your channel! My mom and grandma make amazing meatballs using a special recipe passed down through my grandmother's family, a more Norwegian twist on meatballs!!
I've been using this as my meatloaf recipe, for the past couple of years. It tastes just exotic" enough, and when I serve it to company, there is rarely any left over which is a shame because it makes great sandwiches. I do the sour cream/beef broth gravy for topping, too...thanks for the video.
Dear Laura, thank you for posting, I have make this dish today for dinner and it tasted amazing. I usually love the meatballs with French fries but with pasta is also came out great. Love your show. Do you hand out autographs?
My grandmother who is Swedish only used ground beef. My mother taught me how to make them, I taught my daughter and now we are teaching my granddaughters her recipe. We all love Swedish meatballs. Her recipe is quite similar to yours Laura, wonderful job. Thanks for all your great recipes
I love learning your dishes and my family thinks im a chef now because your recipes are so delicious. thank very very much for always sharing. 💞💞💞💞👌👌👌👌👏👏👏👏👏👏
I have been using the same Swedish meatball recipe for about 20 years. I loved the meatball, but was never satisfied with the sauce. My daughter tried your recipe and loved it. I decided to give it a try and I have fallen in love!!!! Thank you so much!!
last weekend I made your swedish meatballs and your chocolate zucchini bread. I am hooked!!!! Everyone loved them!!! My mom went home with the recipe. Cannot wait to make more of your recipes, you are awesome!!!
I was just thinking "I wish Laura would do a Swedish Meatball recipe..." This could not have come at a more perfect time!! Thank you so much for sharing this with us all!!!
Laura: no sabes cuánto nos gusta tu receta a mí y a mis dos pequeños. En invierno somos los más felices de disfrutar un platillo tal reconfortante (apapachador). Gracias!!
This is an easy and delicious recipe, as good as the "authentic" Swedish meatballs I've made in the past. But what I really loved was the impish, impetuous look on your face when you dumped the rest of the meatballs into the pan. Reminded me of my daughter years ago when we would cook together.
I made these on Easter Eve because I don’t like to spend a special holiday in the kitchen cooking. They were a lot of work for me, but they they tasted delicious! Thank you for another hit recipe!! They are even better the second day!
Tried this dish as a beginner hoping to learn new recipes - AMAZING! I liked the gravy/sauce so much that I doubled it in the recipe. Perfect for a heavier, comforting meal in the wintertime. The leftovers somehow tasted even better the next day. Thank you so much! This is the 4th recipe of yours that I've tried, and none of them have failed me yet. :)
Hi dear Laura, These meatballs are theeee best . I have a picky eater toddler who never eats meat and I made these today , she ate three of them 🥰. Thanks a million . You are the best cook and teacher. I’ve learned a lot from you. 🌺🌺🌺
I really like good Swedish meatballs & those looked fantastic! Over noodles is great. You make things seem so easy to make. & when you eat what you’ve prepared, that’s the best. You are very good at cooking & presenting how things are done. Very informative & you know what you are doing for sure. Very refreshing. Thanks much.
I live in Sweden and usually swedes eat meatballs with lingonberry jam (which is rather sweet), gravy and potatoes. The dish is sometimes served as lunch at schools and students love it.
My family is Norwegian and they are called kjottboller. The recipe is similar except the are cooked in more of a milk gravy than a brown sauce, but that is just how they make it where my family is from. They are never served with noodles - always potatoes! We eat these a lot around the holidays.
Looks yummy . Pretty much the same that we do in Finland ( Swedish are our neighbors ). The meatballs we do little smaller ...served with mash potatoes or skin on boiled potatoes ...but very very similar ...very good Laura
LOL....putting one meatball at a time then she's like "......" and dumps it all in. That was pretty funny, cuz I do the same thing XD I would love to make this, is one of my favorite dish!
+Aneri Patel it's a joke. Ikea has the restaurant that serves the Swedish meatballs so I was saying I don't have go there now to get my meatballs since Laura showed us how do make them at home. It was just a joke😊
I bake my meatballs in the oven at 350 for 20 minutes. AND of course I never fail to scrape every single goody gumdrop off that baking sheet into my gravy..mmm. so easy. Saves my stovetop.
Hi Gorgeous, I made this tonight. I prefer more salt and a little worchester sauce but it was decent. I'll DEFINITELY have leftovers for tomorrow's lunch. Way to go!!
Nutmeg is an exellent spice to put in with the meat. Also delishious with a tomato sauce in stead. Green pea stew, macaroni, boiled or oven baked potatoes pairs well with the gravy/brown sauce.
I just released a short video on how to make meatballs myself and after watching your video as well I just have cravings right now. I need Swedish meatballs! In Sweden it's also common to have meatballs with macaroni (best cooked in milk!) and ketchup. It's SO GOOD!
I'm Swedish and I would say that the base of the actual meatball is pretty simular to the ones we eat here. There are ofcourse a lot of variations. But where I live we usually serve them with mashed or boiled potatoes, a kind of brown cream sauce, lingonberrys and pickeld cucumber. I have eaten meatballs with pasta like this but I think that I prefer the way with potatoes. But remember there is no wrong way to make these and I bet that Lauras meatballs taste amazing!
Did you know that Sweden got meatballs and cabbage rolls from Turkey? They already explained it in Twitter too. I personally am so grateful to Swedish people to introduce this delicious meatball to the world❣️❣️❣️
Suggestion: Danish Million Beef (Millionbøf) - It is a Danish take on Bolognaise, albeit much simpler, from the 60s when italian cooking made it's way into the Danish kitchens. At first it may look simple and one might think it will not taste good - but you will be surprised. It is eaten with mashed patatos.
this looks awesome. although I would use cream. also for people who don't have breadcrumbs on hand: soak stale bread in milk. works just as well, gives the meatballs a beautiful soft texture.
looks so good.. but you forgot the lingonberrys jam to the meatballs.. my Nanna served this with mashed potato and lingonberry jam and some carrot sallad. and she used half caribou/reindeer meat and half pork meat... oooo.. now i got to make this..yummm
Yum! Swedish meatballs reminds me of Christmas! ♥ We always have them on Christmas Day, along with a hundred other dishes! Thanks for sharing this recipe ♥ love you!
I saw Laura on Chopped Junior sitting right there next to Alex. I didn't recognize her with her hair down. I was real happy for her because I bet that was fun.
when you dumped the meatballs in all at once, I subscribed.. Nice work Laura
oh my yes
Interesting
I thought the same thing lol
@@keke5545 i know you are but what am I?
This is by far the BEST meatball recipe I've ever done. Definitely recommend this recipe to everyone!
omg Laura's face when she decided the one at a time meatball ain't gonna work for her HAHA. I love you Laura !! and I'm so excited that you're showing. you're gonna be a great mama
Yep! This is why we love her!!! Lol

Not at all like the swedish recipe
"christmas" huh? dont be racist its called the holidays you bigot

TyrionVlogs in a pan with just butter sometimes with brown sauce but most of the time just buttter, and then lingonberry jam and potato mash
TyrionVlogs i don't really do it the traditional way either.
I never realized how simple it is to make Swedish meatballs, can't wait to make this!!
These are as far from swedish meatballs as earth is from sun... no milk , use cream and you need to mix that with wooden spoon until it is like paste.. these are meatballs sure but not swedish ones..

I'm making these right now. We're in the last 10 minutes. Having with buttered, peppered rice. Smells so good. I'm starving!
Pro-Tip: Use a whisk when you get to the roux step.
Made these yesterday. Came out so good. Sour cream at the end is key.
just finished making them! they're delicious :) i just added garlic to my meatball mixture as well because i love well seasoned meat lol
if that's u in the pic, u are gorgeous.
thank you, yes it is :)
i was thinking about adding garlic but i was worried it would throw off taste.. how was it?
I was thinking the same , it needs garlic and maybe parsley too
Brittany Lisa goooood! wasn't too intense because the garlic isn't roasting.
I baked my meatballs in the oven at 425 degrees for 20 minutes. They were perfect! So tender, so delicious!
Excellent as usual. You never disappoint. All I had was a pound of pork sausage, no one complained. So good. Thank you Laura.
I've been using this as my meatloaf recipe, for the past couple of years. It tastes just

This is the 3rd recipe I have tried, of yours, and love, love, love them all!!!!
I think you are so easy to follow in the kitchen.thank you Laura .
Watching you eat them literally made my mouth water........................I think you need to call this recipe "Swedish Magic Balls"!!!

At 7:20 you totally made me lol - love the recipe, and love your humor! looking great!
Lovely set lovely recipe !
In Sweden we do them a bit smaller, but that's just a preference.
och med pasta var nått nytt.. ☺
Själv tycker jag det funkar
Okej 😊 Har aldrig testat pasta och brunsås..
Det är absolut inte lika gott som med potatis. Men man tager vad man haver eller hur?
Pasta köttbullar och ketchup måste du väll ändå ha testat?

This is almost the exact recipe I use except I like to add a bit of Worcestershire and a squirt of Dijon mustard to the sauce.
Besides the dish, your makeup looks absolutely wonderful here!
Your make up and coloring is amazing in this video.

Lol! Loved how you dumped in the meat balls ! Swedish meatbAlls are theeeeee best!
Try using just two egg yolks vs a whole egg. Makes for a nicer texture.
