I made these yesterday and they are AWESOME! I replaced one pound of beef with ground pork, but that's the only change I made. I would definitely not skimp on the tomato products, all that sauce is so delicious. I served it over spaghetti, and froze 5 bags of the rest of the meatballs and sauce. It made approximately 70 meatballs so there's plenty!
I was raised by parents that survived the first depression and I grew up with a lot of one pot meals. Crock pots are the modern update to depression era one pot cooking and I love my crock pot so this is a must try!
oh my goodness Laura!! My nonna speaks broken English and she says sangwhiches! That reminded me so much of her it put a big smile on my face!!! love you and all of your work!!!! +Laurainthekitchen
Love your crock pot recipies , as a nurse and with a husband who works shifts they are perfect for us. I absolutely adore your channel, I watch it all the way from Scotland , would love to see you try some more British or Scottish dishes xxxx Fiona xxxx
Laura,Love your Recipes real Neapolitan, They are, Just like my Mom & Grandmother use to make Thanks for sharing keep them coming etc. They did not have the use of a Slow cooker back then, But the Old Stove Pots worked great for years etc.
That caciiatore style sauce works with almost anything! Chicken, pork loin, sausage, meatballs,or a steak roulade all go great! I use a huge dutch oven for mine and cook it down quite a bit thicker than you do, but it's one of my go-to's! Love it!
I made these meatballs in December. They tasted great, better the next day and better the day after. I froze some and we ate them a couple of weeks ago and loved them some more. Going to make them again because I’m craving them. Easy recipe!
I love crock pot cooking and this looks amazing--and also less effort intensive and messy than baking or stovetop cooking of the balls. Very good video...
Made these as a hot appetizer for a New Year's dinner (also featuring your prime rib version!). Used a meatloaf mix the butcher ground for me (beef-pork-veal). Very nice! Went over big with the group. Thank you.
Great recipe, Laura! I'm making this for Super Bowl Sunday. I think I'll add some browned pork neck bones at the beginning. Thanks for the hard work you put into these videos.
Thanks for another great video! I just got my first slow cooker and would love it if you had a playlist that showed all your crockpot recipes. I will try this one this week :)
Hey Laura ! I'm a french canadian fan and with your so phenomenal recipe and your passion i felt in love with cooking !!!! Thank you so much for making my world in my kitchen so easier !! I have a request and it could be interesting i think. Can you show us tzaziki recipe and general tso recipe :)
+Elishia Montenegro i did not know that if you cook it that long it becomes caricinogenic. I'll have to research that. i usually add it in at he end, too. better flavor
+Elishia Montenegro the only varieties i have seen here in North Carolina are sweet basil and another kind tha tastes like licorice. ..i do not like the licorice one. at all! sweet basil is what i use for everything. i have a basil plant outside :-)
+Kaitlin Persino That one could be Thai Holy Basil, which has a different flavor, maybe more like licorice. Its leaves are definitely more purple. If you cook Thai recipes, regular Italian basil doesn't taste right in the dish.
I have tried at least 10 different chef's recipes for meatballs. Every one has been tasteless, I'd just about given up until i came across your meatloaf recipe and I'm tempted to use that to make meatballs. I will however try this recipe first. Thank you for the inspiration
Oh wow, that looks delicious, I don't own a crockpot (yet) but I think it's going to be on my wishlist for Santa. I would love to see more recepies that are healthy and easy, lot's of hugs from Denmark
I just love meatballs! I never thought there was parm in some of them. It is such a great combination! Is this how it's done in Italy? Gotta take our hats off to Italians. They sure know how to cook delicious food!!!!!!!!
I made the meatballs for dinner tonight....the 2nd dish ever in my crockpot. Tweaked the recipe a bit.....I did not use fennel and instead of normal eggs I used duck eggs. Had it with spaghetti. Delicious.
When you started the recipe I was really wondering where the parmigiano is! 😬We italian people put it always in the meat balls ! 😀 When you remembered it I breathed a sigh of relief 😅😀😅
Can't wait to try these. I think I'll make them today. I'd like to see you make chicken divan using a homemade sauce (most folks use mushroom soup can).
One year later...this is my go to recipe when i don't know what to make. Today it is cool, rainy and gray for he first time in months, so...Crocky time. Will start it with this.
10 to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IM SO EXCITED! AND I CAN'T JUST HIDE IT!!! Really I can't 😅 Laura you've gotta do this! I have subscribed to you for almost 6 years from episode 1 to 990! Let's get to 1000!!!! Please make apple crumble if not my suggestion vanilla shortbread 😘☺️😇 have a great day bye!
Looks positively amazing! I love meatballs and my crock pot. This is definitely on my list for dinners next week. Being a private music teacher who works from home a lot, crock pot meals are perfect, since they allow the family to eat as soon as I'm done working in the evening. Laura, you're so funny!!! I've never measured parmesan, so I guess I'm alright :-)
That looks fantastic! I didn't even know crock pots/slow cookers are a thing, I had to google it. I don't think it even exists in my country (Brazil), correct me if I'm wrong, but I've never seen one.
I watched this video again because my son's birthday is coming up and I want to make this. When you put your hands in I was like Laura where is your Parmiggiano?!?!
I made meatballs in a crock pot today for my family and it turned out great :) I don't feel like myself when I forget to add parmesan ether, Laura 😂😂😂 Yep and you're right it's not right to measure parm lol. I totally agree about saving the sauce! I always put my leftover sauce in the freezer, because like you said, there are so many other pasta dishes you can make with that. Us Italians ain't about to waste good sauce ... ain't nobody got time for that ... we're not about that life lol :)
OK Laura, I was the biggest nay sayer on the plant!! NO WAY CAN YOU MAKE GOOD MEATBALLS IN THE CROCKPOT! I wish you could see me now eating my big plate of crow!! This were delicious, the sauce alone is to die for and as susanreedy29 mentioned, mop and dunk with crusty bread, YUMMY. You didn't let me down. Awesome good. Thanks
"But really, if you ever need to measure parm, something is not right!" QUOTE OF THE YEAR! 😂❤️😂

+Melody Rose Indeed! Who does that?! LOL

+Melody Rose She never measures the parm or the vanilla. Pure wisdom!
