I’ve been painting the dashboard and rear plate on them and it really helps the looks of it 😊 Plus I put on new front tires if it’s a really good shape mower 😊
I probably will paint the dash but more than likely I won't get around to it until spring. Since this mower is a manual, I plan to use it for pulling my thatcher. Thank you for the comment.
I love, Love, LOVE the Lt 1000's!!! I bought 2, different times. The first one has the twin Briggs motor, a lot of electrical common problems, fuse, starter relay, and stuff @ Craig's list for $250.00 would not move in free wheel. fixed the stuck lever on the trannie, it is now in the garage on the charger, Can't seem to part with it now. The second one Craig's list for $200.00 the same motor as you have, In the driveway now for two years, had the same free wheel issue, the guy bought it from the original owner lady, and could not fix it. I tried to take a rear tire off and it would not budge off the axle, It now is still there, with hopes of bringing it in this winter, but too many outside issues to work on it now. Can't wait to do it. have a great week sir. Both have great decks.
On tires with slow leaks (dry rot), I use automatic transmission fluid. It works about 95% of the time. I usually save used ATF for this purpose. I have not tried the oil trick to determine which works better since i have had such good luck with ATF.
Got one just like it few days ago..Someone took really good care of the outside of it but never changed the oil..Pull the bottom off motor just for kicks and it was chuncky..Broke chunk out the cyclinder crack case..I had a 18 intek i used the cover off the old one 17.5..It looked brand new....Your deck looks ruff..hehe..Thanks for sharing. .❤
If I were you, I wouldn’t even put the deck back on it. I would just get yourself a little trailer and I noticed you have a garden and if you have a fireplace, you can haul brush or wood.
I have a Kubota 2610 and an electric golfcart for gardening however, since it has a manual transmission, I plan to use it to pull my detacher and sprayer. Thank you for the comment!
Being its a manual transmission, I plan to use it for pulling the dethatcher and 30 gallon sprayer. In the past I overheated the hydrostatic transmission pulling the dethatcher.
Nope, I would not waste the effort on the deck either; I would see if the spindles and blades are saveable to use for bench stock or to put on a better 42/46in deck for that model mower😊.

Thanks for including your struggles and not cutting too much of the actual work out. Fwiw, there is a belt diagram on the under carriage.
If I edited out all my struggles my videos wouldn’t be very long. Thank you for the kind words!
You are doing a good job
Thanks

They are good little machines, and I enjoy working on them. Thank you for the comment and I hope everything works out with the mowers.

I'm glad to hear you had success with the ATF and I will try it to see if it works better than the motor oil. Thanks for the comment!
That looks like a beautiful piece of property. Wow…
I certainly enjoy the property. Thank you for your comment.
Nice video.
Thank you, I appreciate the kind words!

I sold my 14 k mule two seater and now I ride a 50 mower with no deck around 😮
I was watching it fade away and said that is foolish 😊
I like the idea but I would have to do a pully swap to gain more speed.
Gone keep the pulleys new deck would be good.

Where you live?

Unfortunately, only the blades were worth saving. Thank you for the comment!
Yeah I wouldn't try to repair that
😂 Thank you for the comment.
