I drive over them roads practically every week they are a five minute drive from where I live... Those roads always give me a good laugh when I drive over them towards Langsett so much fun in any car. You always get a good mix of compressions corners and little lumps in the road where you nearly take off. They'll highlight any deficiencies in any car provided you don't get stuck behind some Sunday driver doing 5mph although, I usually get past them with a bit of clear road you have to be careful though some of the roads around there are bloody narrow.
Nice review Matt. The AMG GT R is excellent value at £95000. It has a great engine that doesn't even sound like it's turbo-charged! It has great build quality, it looks fantastic in green or black (and especially sunbeam yellow), but that long long bonnet just doesn't do it for me. You also touched on the steering which is also a weak point. I think this car comes into its own in Florida or California where they have bigger, wider roads. For the UK I would rather have a 991 GT3 for the same money.
Weak point?!? Coming from a gt2 owner and track guy, I think the gtr’s heavy steering feels exactly like a comp car !!! Best steering out there imo and makes a 991 rs feel like a limp noodle
@@iLLGT2 I was agreeing with Matt's comment in the video. Coming from a 997 GT3 RS 4.0 owner, I don't find it as communicative or as sharp as the Porker.

I don't get it with modern hyper sports cars; petrol heads celebrate the scintillating character of their sensational internal combustion engines but the cars are virtually entirely controlled by ultra complex electronics. Why not just go the whole hog and get an electric car?
If there's a car developed with the help of Lewis Hamilton this is it and you can see why he clearly transformed the Car in many aspects making it the best in AMG range.
This car could be a nice car if AMG would have had the same team that developed the 6.2 NA engine. This engine throttle response in low revs and high revs is far from uniform, the acceleration pedal seems mushy and irresponsive in many situations and driving it slowly the lack of crispiness in the engine response makes it a dull experience, plus the poorly programmed steering wheel feedback, that is excessively heavy. Also the engine sound is something just made for showing up in the low mid range. The engine sound looses interest as it reaches the higher revs, and at low rpm the sound seems to expressive compared to the engine response and as you progress it becomes less and less interesting. They should take some lessons from Porsche or from other high end car specialists. Or even maybe their previous engineers. It is a shame that these types of details were poorly engineered and designed for an AMG car...

I think the AMG GT R hit the depreciation curve hard in late 2020. Now everyone is realizing the value with it and the R8 V10+.
Yeah exactly
The question is... You buy this one or the R8 with the best production engine on the market ? I cant decide

The sexiest car ever made in history, plus it is a serious competitor to the GT3RS, n the engine sounds and performs like a N.A engine.
Kudos to AMG for making a turbo motor sound so spectacular
This car is absolutely stunning I would take it over a Porsche any day. Looks so special and unique
Agree.
The Gt3Rs is way superior than the amg gt-r
For the price though, of course it should be. Still the GTR is sexy and is def worth what you’re paying for.
Great review. You present really well fella! 😁 Enjoyed that. Thanks for posting. 👍
GTR is a cotemporary classic. No need for the SLS or the older Black Series. The GTR trumps them all. It is that good to drive.
