The AMG GTR is completely underrated and Mercedes won’t make another like it. New one is front engine instead of front mid. No rear transaxle, weight balance isn’t anymore 47-53 but the reverse. No dry sump. 9 speed instead of the 7. Rip to the legend Gen 1.

Well I finally picked up my GT3 .2 manual to compliment and finalize the journey. I couldn't agree more with your observations and am extremely blessed to have both in my stable! Lovely video, as always! Congrats on both new cars! 😎 I prefer the "old" proportions and interior of this AMG GT generation over the new one...and I obviously love that this GT R is A LOT lighter than the new gen. Not a lot to say about the GT3. Even as a manual fanboy, that thing is epic.

congraz guys and awesome cars; I do have to make two mentions, as an enthusiast driver and as a person who drove for one week(almost) in the Alps(and who will go back in late spring '24 for another week of driving). One(the first), even at 5 or 6 in the morning.. or a 7 or 8 in the evening, almost no pass can be driven on hard enough and fast enough in order for a sports car to require carbon ceramic brakes; 2ndly, by the same lane of thinking, alpine passes in.. , well, the Alps, are for enjoyment and not for the last 0.1 around a particular corner or the other so, that argument fails rapidly and the engagement and involvement argument picks up the pace when we talk about a manual gt3. Sure, maybe the dsg only gen. 1 was the obvious choice as it is the less regarded one from the bunch and, thus, slightly cheaper(as "cheap" as a 100k car can be) but, for roadtrips in the Alps in June or late September(early October), a manual is more than appropriate and much more fun. Just because the older gentlemen that go in tours with you(or those a little inexperienced at driving fast), prefer a dsg for its easyness in driving(especially when left to do its own thing(gear changes), that does not mean that for a real enthusiast and an enthusiast at driving, something better can be found, because it can't.. as nothing beats a good manual in a proper car, at proper driving. cheers!
Well, we opted for big deposit and interest only as it works well for a business. Monthlies were a bit over £500 at the time, but rates have increased since
