Absolutely loved your list for fueling, I do that too! It takes the guesswork out of it. I will say, though, I'm a huge culprit of not taking fuel if there is only a mile or two left even tho I will finish feeling sooo much worse, I do it every time! They're just so expensive, but next time, I'll try to remember this clip and that I want to finish feeling strong!
Oh my gosh I totally get that, that was my mindset for such a long time, solely because of the price!!! Adding in more affordable fueling options (like the pb&j, candy, etc.) has helped too because I'm not seeing it as "wasting" money since it didn't cost much to begin with!! Thank you so much for watching!!
I live in a very safe rural area in Canada so have never felt the need to protect myself on runs though I completely understand it. It is so sad that other women need to worry about this. My major safety concern is more related to drivers as I live in a small town and run on a lot of rural roads so if it is even a little dark I wear an LED vest. I also always carry my phone and have my location shared with my husband. When I was training for my first ultra and doing a lot more trail running I also carried a Nathan Ripcord which is a device that when you pull it emits a super loud sound to scare away predators or alert others you need help. Thanks for discussing this topic and sharing what you do!
Definitely need to look into the ripcord, thank you for the suggestion!! That is amazing you live in such a safe place, what a gift!!!! Thank you so much for watching! :)
Happy Thanksgiving. Your training looks great. I love the lemon lime Skratch carb powder. It can be clumpy. I will mix it 24 hours ahead of time or mix it bit by bit on the day. Fueling on a run is so hard sometimes. I discovered the hard way that my stomach can’t handle too much maltodextrin. Happy running! 🏃🏻♀️👟🌈
I completely forgot about the additional planning involved with ultra marathons! Please share those deets when you get to that point in your prep! P.S. Love your running vlogs!
@@tralaloni I definitely will!! It takes SO much planning, it is overwhelming and honestly I learn so much from other TH-camrs, so I’ll definitely share as I learn and prep :) thank you so so much for watching!!
