“I don’t think that I’ve done anything spectacular in this whole entire series.” Me sitting on my couch: “oh, totally, nothing spectacular.” 😂 You’re awesome!
I don't race, I dont even run but this is one of the most inspiring, motivational films I have seen. It proves we are all more capable then we think we are. Crossing the finish line of life with nothing left in us is a worthy goal. I don't run, but I do cycle long distances..........."patience & wisdom" will be a new mantra. Thank you for giving so much.
The mental fortitude to carry on with wrecked feet early on is absolutely incredible. Knowing you haven’t even started racing and your feet are trashed, and that once racing they will get even worse is a giant mountain to climb mentally
“It doesn’t need to be marked by medals but it needs to be marked by giving everything I possibly can.” You put into words how I approach each race. I love the strategy of being patient and using wisdom, so crucial in life 💕
When Christmas is over but Santa McRae reaches round to the back of the tree and pulls out one last amazing gift! Thanks for this team McRae! Happy holidays to everyone continuing to choose strong 🎄🎁 ❄️ 🎉
For her to not think she’s an incredible athlete is unfathomable to me. Sally you are the epitome of what it means to be an athlete! I was overwhelmed with emotion to witness your accomplishments. You’ve inspired me to carry your mindset throughout the duration of my life! Sending you lots of love ❤
Absolutely sobbing at the beauty of this. Sally was the first to inspire my running journey. She encourages me to choose strong in every aspect of life. Sally, you’re a gift from God. Thank you for being you. Never stop.
You’re such an inspiration. I just finished my second half marathon and it tool 3:40. I’m better then I was 5 minutes ago! Thank you for posting your videos.
Hi Sally! I hope you see this! I decided to start training for a half marathon in September (couch to half marathon, the only “long distance” running I had ever done in my life was a 5k that I did when I was in 5th grade) and I’m using the Nike Run Club app and you happened to be a coach for one of my runs! I remember you talking about how you do ultra marathons and I was like “wow how does she do it. I’m doing a speed run that’ll end up being less than 3 miles at the ends and I am feeling WHOOPED” and it made me feel as though I was falling behind in the training because I was so many weeks in and I still found some of my 3-4 mile runs difficult. But then I found your channel and started watching all your ultra marathons and it opened my eyes that everyone is going to struggle. Everyone will feel behind at time. Everyone will get leg pain during a run. Everyone will need to stop to walk for a little before starting again. Everyone has off days. But there is no reason to back down just because of that. I remember you said “you only have to run at mile pace for 30 seconds. Since I do ultra marathons a mile is so easy!” And I was like “well not for me” but looking back at it, it was! It really was! Because it is easy for ANYONE as long as you have the right mindset. It took me so long to realize that I don’t have to be the BEST at it, I just have to get it done. And that is okay. Watching your videos and seeing you struggle has genuinely helped me so much to learn that when I struggle, that is human nature. And now, I can run 10 miles with ease :)
I’m in awe of Sally! This feat isn’t something I can comprehend. A marathon hurts, this is unbelievable to me. I run because of the motivation and inspiration from Sally McRae! Great job, I can’t wait to see what’s next! This film gives me chills! ❤
Go, Sally, Go! 💛 favorite moments: 3:45 - "I had two words for this race: PATIENCE & wisdom" 20:40 - "we're leaving in first place" (let's go!!!) 28:46 - "I always think about the story I want to tell after a race" 30:28 - "we win because of our mindset" 32:11 - "I want to get to the last finish line of my life and knowing that I gave every ounce of who I am" 32:33 - nothing better than a Sally McRae finish line celebration! the moments that I replay in my mind when I think about how I want to feel at the end of a race! Cannot wait to continue to cheer you on in 2024. You're an inspiration to us all!
I'm a cyclist, I have watched a tons of ultra cycling videos and films, there's one time I was thinking "if people do the distance by running, that will be totally insane!", the prophet TH-cam probably heard my thoughts, then I stumbled upon this video. It's really nuts mindblown🤯 I'm amazed by how well articulated you're to express those complex feelings and thoughts you had during the race, it made the storytelling so so so much better, especially to those audience like me who knows nothing about running, able to have a glimpse on what was happening. Truly amazing!
Sally continues to make the extraordinary look normal. 4 200+ mile ultras in one year is an accomplishment that will rarely be replicated, if ever. Simply unbelievable and beyond awesome! Thanks for allowing us to tag along for the ride this past year, Sally. Watching these adventures made me feel as though I was right there with you and no doubt inspired others as you have me! Much love and respect to you and Eddie! Wish you many blessings in 2024.
This brought me to tears for what human beings can accomplish. Sally you had so many nuggets of wisdom that I won't soon forget, thank you for your inspiration!!!!!!!!
I have only ever run a 40 km “marathon” (only 25 miles), yet I got all emotional watching this video. It feels so personal and so relatable. Mind over body is truly a fantastic mantra. Thanks for the incredible inspiration 🙏🏻
As someone whose finished this race in 2021…. Encapsulating the highs & lows of 240 miles within 34 minutes is a challenge… Incredible Work Sally! Joe and Sarah are the best team members ever!
An absolute inspiration. I hope you can understand the positive change you’ve made in so many lives, just by being who you are. Congratulations and THANK YOU!
Another excellent film by Drew Darby… these films go toe to toe, if not exceed the productions we see on ESPN. A true treat to experience this level of quality on TH-cam.
Two months ago I watched and commented on the Tahoe 220. What I said then, applies now. Out of the 33:43 run time, your best comment was “on paper, I’m done”. I knew that was your body talking but your will to succeed had a different plan. Once again a monumental, beyond human performance. Truly inspiring.
Now we need to see “Mind Over Miles” merch!! You are an inspiration and be very proud of these and any challenge you have worked through. Thank you for sharing your runs and wisdom with us.
You've inspired me to start running and now I've become somewhat addicted to it. This was an incredible feat, Sally! You're such a beast! I think of your words of resilience when I'm about to reach my breaking point, and I keep on pushin'. Rock on, love from Texas!🤘🏼❤
I watched the previous two films on my laptop, and I’m so glad I watched this on my husband’s nice big-screen TV. What a visually beautiful film! You captured Sally’s tremendous journey as well as the raw beauty of Moab. Wonderful!
I've been living (and attempting to recover from) a limbic system impairment for 9 years now which basically means I'm extra tired and sensitive all the time because my body thinks I'm in danger even when I'm not. I spend a lot of time resting in bed and videos like these completely light me up! I may not be able to jog a mile, but I love seeing people push the limits of what humanity can do. I am also really inspired by your mental fortitude. Whether it's racing 240 miles or making it day after day with chronic illness, it is out mindsets that really make all the difference. Cheers to you and your continued success!
@@prettyprettybirdie314 I'm so sorry you have to live through that! I hope you recover soon too. Something interesting about long COVID is it has a lot in common with the conditions I have and researchers are learning more about what could help me as there is funding for long COVID research. 🤞🏼
Oh Sally, I'm so proud of you. I feel like I've come along with you on this journey through the podcasts, book, videos, and now these films. You're an incredible testimony to perseverance and grit. Keep choosing strong my friend, and I'll do the same.
I can’t even run a mile but your ability to battle your own mind and the elements and injuries makes me want to pull on my shoes and give it my best shot! Thank you for sharing this incredible journey with us. Your support team is nothing less than amazing as well!
It's just beautiful to see that genuine hard work pays off at the end. Sally, may all the good energies of the Universe be with you and your followers as well!🙏
AMAZING. Her struggle and victory over adversity gives all of us renewed faith in humankind and strength to continue our personal challenges. THANK YOU SALLY. YOU ARE A REAL HERO.
Absolute legend. Just finished your book Sally. Gave me just the wake up call I needed. What a difficult start to life you had, you let it fuel you and not beat you down. Inspiring is an understatement x
I didn’t know the first thing about ultramarathon running and I’m so glad I watched this documentary. I love how the film really lets you into the importance of having mental fortitude ; I also loved seeing how the pacers contributed to the ultimate outcome. Congratulations on this amazing accomplishment and thank you for inspiring us
I have never met Sally, but when she crossed that finish line, she brought a smile to my face and a lump in my throat. The winner inside wants to come out. Thanks Sally!!!
Where’s the LOVE BUTTON - TH-cam?? Sally- you are absolutely amazing and such an inspiration to me and sooo many others. Thank you for sharing your journey! ❤️
You are amazing. We love you Sally! I’m watching this at 03:30, having just had knee surgery following nearly a year out from running after an injury going into my first ultra. It was a great race but now it’ll be a slow and steady road ahead. Watching these videos are so inspiring. Patience is definitely key right now 😃💪 Thank you Sally.
I’ve been down and out for almost a year battling hardcore mental health. This made me cry knowing that I’m not giving it everything I have for myself. I am going to get back to the grind I need more of this. please don’t stop inspiring people you just saved my day and hopefully many more
Sally, your journey in life continues to amaze and inspire me to no end. You are the definition of mental fortitude and ultimate steadfastness with yourself in reaching dreams that are incredibly beautiful.
what an absolute LEGEND. so much respect for you Sally. I was audibly cheering by the end of this to see such willpower and strength. To the film makers, this is the most beautiful race video I've ever seen. Capturing the stars above, the beauty of the landscape, and the storytelling throughout. just wonderful.
It is a gift to see someone who is truly giving everything they have to life like this. Several moments where I felt deeply moved by your story and mindset. Thanks Sally and the team who made this film!
Simply said: She made me speechless. Wish u all the best for 2024. May all of you cross some personal finish-lines, wherever they are. Greetings from germany.
I'm probably pretty late and you probably get this a lot but this journey has been incredible. You suffer through not just all of the pain, but all of the harsh and dark thoughts all while pushing yourself to the absolute limit. You've inspired me, and I'm sure countless others to push ourselves to our greatest potential and I hope you keep going, despite all the pain.
I am not a runner but I absolutely loved watching this. Thanks Sally for inspiring us all no matter what lives we lead to continue the good race. Hard, broken, tattered, hungry and tired. Don't look back! Keep going!
Great job Sally! I am a 15 year old who runs track and XC as a distance runner and I’ve struggled through injuries a lot lately and your documentaries inspire me to keep running during my recovery and not give up hope that I can get faster again and actually compete. You’re amazing and I hope you know that 🫶
This was SO inspiring. Sally you are breathtaking in what you reach for and achieve, what you try regardless of win or lose. Thank you for sharing it all with us.💛 We love you and are so very proud of you!
Thank you Sally. For reminding me that the mind is the strongest muscle we have. Also that it takes a village for one person to achieve greatness. You are a better version of yourself each time you overcome adversity. You give me strength. You have the heart of a lion.
Sally is truly one of the most amazing role models and inspirations in the endurance community. I am attempting my first Ironman in 2024 and I will be sure to recall her words and actions when things get tough
Tears at the end when all the finish lines were being crossed. Sally, you make the average mom feel like she can accomplish anything. You inspire me so so much!!
Your videos are so inspirational and you as a person are too. You are part of the reason I decided to take on the challenge of marathon running and maybe one day ulta running.
This is crazy but also what I imagine my heaven would be like- just run in the beauty of nature for days and days…..so inspiring all the highs and lows.
Sally is such an inspiration, the most important thing that I've learned watching your videos is even if things is not going according to plan, you just need to keep going and never stop. You have my utmost respect ma'am, watching from the Philippines!!
It’s a cool ending to have all the 2 hundo’s finish line arrivals flash when Sally crossed at Moab. Super nice touch, and congrats Sally. This journey was truly freakin epic. Sally- I’ve been following you since I started listening to TRN about 13 years ago. Time to get yours! GOD BLESS YOU! Btw- we all love Eddie! Please keep inviting him back to the podcast 🎉
This fulled my fire so hard sally. You are an absolute UNIT of a woman. How can you say none of this is incredible Omygod pls give yourself more credit 😭
Wow Sally this achievements are so much better shared .The support is so appreciated and important.I love sharing jorney with others .You are so amazing just a great person.❤❤❤I can’t get enough of your races your wisdom and you as a person …..
You done this ultramarathon to win, you did not do the ultramarathon not to lose, all with patience & wisdom from physical experience and that was amazing. Congratulations on the win 💪🏾
@@Nyelands It's not about what she said, it's about what she done based on her experience and why she entered that race and didn't let challenges make her have a mindset not to lose like most people do when they have much or have done much. That is patience & wisdom built progressively overtime. It seems that a lot of people miss the message of Sally's videos
22:38 “Winning sometimes means putting yourself in a state of temporary discomfort. These are in my mind, these are temporary feelings and feelings don’t get to dictate what I do” Amazing quote for the new year!
These 34 mins felt so short, I guess I'll watch all of these films in one sitting. Congrats to Drew and Tyler for the epic shots and edit! Hope I'll get to run in a Choose strong cap next year! :) God bless you and your family Sally! It's truly a joyful inspiration to follow your journey. 💛
It is interesting how this is more of a mental race than anything else. And your mindset can be applied to so many things in life... I feel like every human being can relate to it to some extend. Amazing!
Ma'am, your performance was absolutely outstanding, and thank you for the exceptional video. You serve as a great inspiration to this 61-year-old who has only accomplished a 50-miler so far. You have ignited my determination to achieve that elusive 100-miler milestone. Thank you for being such a motivating force.
Crewing my friend at Cocodona for her 250 and soaking up every long distance running documentary I can but this one was beyond amazing!! THANK YOU!! What an accomplishment! 🙌
Such an incredible documentary on every level from showing just how much discomfort one can experience during a 200 mile foot race to the beautiful videography, editing, grading and music. You get to really feel like you are there for Sally's journey with all of the highs and lows along the way. Superb win Sally and wonderful job by Drew and Tyler - huge congrats all round.
i want more of these kind of movies. You are doing so good. It's insane how strong your mind is! Keep going Sally!! Are you going to do more of these in 2024?
I have my first ultra booked in July and I have been living off these videos. Can I just say this was captured perfectly. It's inspirational and shows how extraordinary life can truly be if you chase it
Sally's mental fortitude and positivity is inspirational. Her humble approach, calmness and willingness to share has taught me loads and helped in my own trail running journey. Thank you so much and very well done for the amazing win at MOAB!
I love this so much! I’m about to do AC100 in about three weeks and so scared, this documentary makes me feel better, Sally’s attitude is amazing and her perseverance is what got her there. Thank you! ❤
I got tuned into your videos from your mango Go One More release through Nick Bare and BPN. You exemplify everything Go One More stands for and more. You seem perfect for BPN and inspiring everyone to become a better version of themselves. You're crazy strong and inspirational to us all. Keep on going!
Great video! These are so inspirational and educational. I already knew Sally was an incredible athlete from prior videos, but this one really made me think about how important a supporting team is. Those were great insights about the pacers she hand picked for specific legs of the race. Congrats to all the runners who are crazy enough to participate in such extreme challenges.
This is amazing. And that notion of imagining the story you want to be able to tell, the work to pull yourself- in the moment out of the pain- and take control of "the pen" and author your own story despite the discomfort is what makes us tremendous creatures capable of so much more than we realize. Bravo Sally! Bravo for doing that in such a phenomenal way. You ARE an incredible athlete. And you have done something spectacular.
From Australia, I'm transported into another whole level of dreaming of what can be possible in life. Congratulations Sally and the whole team behind this movie, the gorgeous footage, and this magnificent story. Thank you. Choose strong, right?💪👏💛
What a beautiful start to my 2024! I want to do life like Sally! The positivity and fortitude that exudes from her is absolutely remarkable. A lesson in how we choose to navigate life is my biggest takeaway from this phenomenal video. I’ve commented before, I started watching this for running/racing, but ended with more arsenal for living fully. Amazing Sally! Continued blessings in all of your future endeavors! God is good!🎉
Sally you motivate me so much. You talk about hurting to win and it brings me back to winning my 100k race in October. Motivation. You are so strong and congrats on your races. This video is amazing.
“I don’t think that I’ve done anything spectacular in this whole entire series.”

Keep going!
Gracias Sally por motivarnos a todos a ser mejor cada día ! A dar un poquito más ❤🙏🏼 choose strong all day everyday ⚡️
Thank you for sharing it all with us.💛 We love you and are so very proud of you!
appreciate that thank you so much
Thank you Sally.

Not exactly what she said. Almost the opposite.
These are in my mind, these are temporary feelings and feelings don’t get to dictate what I do”
Amazing quote for the new year!
Thank you Sally. For everything that you do .. I loved following your adventures in 2023 ..this is a beautiful film ..I laughed and cried .❤️😊💪
Crewing my friend at Cocodona for her 250 and soaking up every long distance running documentary I can but this one was beyond amazing!! THANK YOU!! What an accomplishment! 🙌
What a special film. Great achievement. Helping with my marathon training ❤ thanks
Congratulations Sally and team. You truly have a great team of supporters to help get through tough times!
i want more of these kind of movies.
"How to be a better Sally." So awesome. Congrats Sally!
I don't even have words to describe how this film made me feel. This is just outstanding, mind-blowing, unreal.
The sounds of heaving are terrorizing. I felt fear in that part of the video. Excellent film. I was crying by the end of it
I love this so much!
"Feelings don't get to dictate what I do" is an inspiring message. Cheers!
Appreciate the feedback! Thank you for watching! 💛
Thank you. Choose strong, right?💪👏💛
you're a huge inspiration on my life Sally. Thank you so much for everything you do
What a beautiful start to my 2024! God is good!🎉
Thank you for watching!!
What a way to end the year! Thank you Sally for this! Incredible cinematography to help tell your incredible story! Happy New Year!
thank you so much for watching Craig
Sally you motivate me so much. You talk about hurting to win and it brings me back to winning my 100k race in October. Motivation. You are so strong and congrats on your races.
