It feels weird, I landed in Grassy Plains, walked around a bit and found a nice spot to put down my HUB, and now I see you chose the exact same location
I think this is one of the most common starting spots. It's where I've put my hub every time I've played. The three iron nodes are near the spawn point I had (not sure if the starting spawn is random or not)
Yeah, same here. All the other node patches in the area are impure, but these 3 are normal. Another thing is that everyone seems to be starting their 1.0 playthroughs in the grassy fields haha. I guess we all had the same ideas 😅
I have been studying the alien artifacts' dialog progression and my thought is that SAM is a crystalline lifeform based on vibration. If you look at the dialog, SAM uses musical references as that is the closest words we have to their form of thought and language. To us, tt would sound like music or the sound of rubbing a crystal goblet. If you stand on SAM you can hear the sound of their language and maybe even their nature. SAM is accessing ADA through the Pioneer, and the strange syntactical format is SAM learning our language and trying to translate their vibrational or musical language into our language. The strange references that make no sense to us is because don't have the words to express some of SAM's concepts. Like any language translation, it is impossible to perfectly translate one language into another due to the differences of thought that lay behind the two languages.
I've done more handcrafting than any previous play. Discovering rebalancing of everything, makes me glad I didnt bother loading an old save. Automating just enough to make handcrafting quicker. Until I unlocked amplifier. Game changer. I have blown through the research, MAM and space elevator too, completed phase 3 very quickly.
did you know if you overload the MAM by repeatetly Reserch stuff and doesnt let her Finish her speach she will get mad. i did it while unlocking about 8 -10 reserches after another without giving the time to read the text. it is a nice Gimik. Best try it out.
"Deploying parachute Deploying back-up parachute Skipping parachute" -all said while you're still wreathed in reentry plasma really sets the tone of the game perfectly.
The things I research as early as possible in the MAM are the parachute, zipline, and blade runners. It makes getting around the map a lot easier with not a lot of effort. Also, you can sink Reanimated SAM pretty easily to farm for tickets.
You can put multiple portable miners on one node. I was shocked when I saw them do it in the 1.0 trailer. Makes a MASSIVE difference in that first hour of gameplay!
I started on the Dunes. Fairly easy to get things up and running, halfway to getting Smart Plating sorted without a single hitch. Then I decided to go see if I could snag anything from the wrecks dotted around the oasis at the top of the cliffs. Brother, they have WORKED on those critter AI. Those buggers will track you up and down ramps. They’ll hunt you down for miles. Nothing fazes them. I died SO many times.
Yes it is possible to get all those Alien Tech components early. I had the same exact thought you did, and I rushed working on that from the onset lol. Well, rushed isn't the right word per se, focused. 😂
You can actually skip coal and (tier6-7) fuel generators by hand crafting high speed connectors with loots from drop pods and using geothermal. Connecting all of the vents in the map provides ~10,650MW which can be boosted using the power augmenter. There's 3 pure, 1 normal, and 1 impure vents to the east of the grassy fields giving 2250MW (30 coal generators), I managed to skip coal and diluted packaged fuel entirely and went straight to rocket fuel blender recipes for late game power.
lol. Your first 38 minute let’s play has gotten you further along than I have really ever gotten in 36 hrs 😂 I’m just into tier 2 though and going to run to the doggo cave for the blade runners and other goodies now as I am out collecting wood. Should be helpful in murdering beasties
Very cool that you started a new game with 1.0, I did too. And I love the grassfields. With 1.0 I started in the Rocky Desert, but the nodes are really far from each other, in my feeling I'm walking much more than in the Grassfields. I think for the first coal power plant the grassfields aren't too bad for the beginning.
Made it to tier 3 with starter factory and then I went down a rabbit hole researching things in the MAM. Made a mad dash to get power slugs, slupes and Mercers. The trick with adding somerslupe to double power shards from slugs came in handy. I held off making any until I got the slupes. Now I have over 100 shards. Then worked on blueprints so I can replace my starter factory with blueprints.
The moment you started laying down foundations my first thought was: "Please have them add some way to hide grass above foundations". That's gonna be annoying haha.
I didn’t notice before but the wristband on the build tool moves during the descent to simulate starting in 0 G, falling and then it drops when the thruster kicks in.
@@TotalXclipseI've had the same issue. From what I can tell, they fall through the ground, but still exist. Apparently if you upload the save to, SatisfactoryTools was it?, you can edit their position to bring them back. Haven't had a chance to try it myself yet. Supposedly having them in an enclosure directly on the ground and the player being far away is when it has the highest risk of happening. Having the bottom of the enclosure be foundations mitigate the problem, but doesn't make it go away entirely.
I would like to see a bit more detailed explanation/showcase of building up a factory, my first save for 1.0 i jsut finished phase 3 stuff, but i have no idea how to setup megafactories/monorail transports etc, so having a helping hand through that would be great (i also may have gotten sidetracked early with the mercer spheres/sloop stuff) im still using my first save but this will be my build along youtube series (so i have some direction at least and get some ideas for my other save xD)
I think a good long term goal would be to explore the alternative recipes more. Like, maybe more smaller factories making the same things different ways, it would be interesting to see and probably more interesting for you to make
was waiting so long for you to end live stream and for these videos to come out. I really want to play along with you and follow your builds. Love if you explained how much foundations and how many minors constructors you take so I can build along side of you
29:33 Well on my first 1.0 build I went up to 1400MW with biomass burners before I was starting with coal power xD Having a whole production line with sorting and everything just makes me dump leafs, wood, alien remains and so on in my big dump ^^
I dont know on bad starting area. Sure the nodes are not thr best, but there tons of sources too. Includding 1 coal to help steel. Down sideyes, power for coal, but it not so far to that lake area with like 4 coal area. Of course i know, it all opinion for each player
idk about others but as far as cutting out parts of the gameplay is concerned, i want to see everything. i cant make it to the streams so being able to go back and watch everything from the planning to the calculating to the resource gathering and exploration, belting, etc etc, i want to see everything
As a brand new player, I hope that everything is as intuitive for me soon as it is for you. I need to wrap my head around some of the things, but I'm in med school, so it might be a while
They could create a rat and cockroach system, where if the factory was too dirty, rats would appear and steal resources from the factory, and the cockroaches would attack the player and spread more dirt. It would make a good addition to the game, cleaning robots, it would bring more life to the game and make it less empty. and guard robots could even be added to kill the cockroaches and put an end to the "infestation"
1:17 I just want to take a moment to appreciate FICSIT for using the same file name convention I do for projects due in like 2 hours and I started on the project like 5 minutes ago
Total, luv the builds always a fun and informative watch. would you be able to sort the playlist order for this series ep 1 is randomly number 2 in the list, cheers

"Deploying parachute
Deploying back-up parachute
Skipping parachute"
-all said while you're still wreathed in reentry plasma really sets the tone of the game perfectly.
"D. M. Mercer" I get it 😂
@37:43 how is iron ingot being turned into scews in one step as it looks like??? am I blind and missing something.
Edit: never mind, cast screws
"i dont think another game starts like this " subnautica literallty starts exactly like this
that sound happens to me all the time. sounds like the jetpack running out of fuel but im not even wearing the jetpack lol
biomass burners have an input now? that is amazing
making alien dna capsules using a summer sloop in the constructors gets tons of tickets early game
The things I research as early as possible in the MAM are the parachute, zipline, and blade runners. It makes getting around the map a lot easier with not a lot of effort.
Also, you can sink Reanimated SAM pretty easily to farm for tickets.
I chose to start in the grassy plains too, just feels nostalgic. I have been waiting for 1.0 so long I've almost immediately sunk 30 hours in to it.
You can put multiple portable miners on one node. I was shocked when I saw them do it in the 1.0 trailer. Makes a MASSIVE difference in that first hour of gameplay!
Idk what kind of humor its called, but some of the things "Aida" was saying had me fallin out of my chair. Im all for it.
The opening, and the story that i've seen so far (which isn't much) really remind me of subnautica.
What i always do at the beginning is searching for crashsides. With all the resources you can fly bye the setup phase
Bro, the best thing I saw all day was the mercer sphere, it's no longer a WIP.... Finally! AFTER A MILLION YEARS
OMG, that streamer luck with the doggo's first drop! Ahaha! 🤣
lol. Your first 38 minute let’s play has gotten you further along than I have really ever gotten in 36 hrs 😂
I’m just into tier 2 though and going to run to the doggo cave for the blade runners and other goodies now as I am out collecting wood.
31:36 pure luck :) Joking, great video!
Thanks! 😁
I didn’t notice before but the wristband on the build tool moves during the descent to simulate starting in 0 G, falling and then it drops when the thruster kicks in.
35:00 Brb, getting an army of lizard doggos
IKR - except my doggo's keep vanishing...

You can put the 1 meter on top of what you have. I have done it but it's a PITA and extra resources!
Love if you explained how much foundations and how many minors constructors you take so I can build along side of you
Well the live's still going, but we're getting this done at the same time!
02:00 No game that does an opening like that? Subnautica? Drops you in pretty much the same
I was gonna reply this. Subnautica's may even be better to be fair
man i'm so excited about 1.0 i even watch other people play when i'm not! Can't wait for Stin Archie and Fluxo factories as well.
29:33 Well on my first 1.0 build I went up to 1400MW with biomass burners before I was starting with coal power xD
Having a whole production line with sorting and everything just makes me dump leafs, wood, alien remains and so on in my big dump ^^
12:58 finally explains why the planet is called MASSAGE....
"It's been a while!" Since I first watched you looking for a good place to place down your HUB.
Hi X old chum. Glad to see you back on TH-cam
Here we go!
I dont know on bad starting area. Sure the nodes are not thr best, but there tons of sources too. Includding 1 coal to help steel.
Down sideyes, power for coal, but it not so far to that lake area with like 4 coal area.
Of course i know, it all opinion for each player
Lol the super frames for the start ha ha. Nice doggi😂
This is my first time playing this game and this was my start and your og save is what mine looks like right now😂😂
idk about others but as far as cutting out parts of the gameplay is concerned, i want to see everything. i cant make it to the streams so being able to go back and watch everything from the planning to the calculating to the resource gathering and exploration, belting, etc etc, i want to see everything
This location is where I set up my first Heavy Modular Frame factory. I LOVE Iron pipe!
Rock dessert is another good one. The main thing with the forest location is only two coal nodes, right near the edge.
The more gameplay we can watch, the better!
Any chance you could reorder your playlist? Newest first makes it really hard to watch multiple videos in a row.
36:20 is the metal barrier - sign combo :)
I got to all the final stuff last night. Since the 1.0 update I've played 100+ hours
i just found this game and im delighted that 1.0 just came out!
You can get at least 16 Coal Generators in that area, because of two nearby water locations and a close coal deposit.
1:17 I just want to take a moment to appreciate FICSIT for using the same file name convention I do for projects due in like 2 hours and I started on the project like 5 minutes ago
If the "whoosh" noise is getting to you, don't go to the rocky desert. The haunting screams... a thing of nightmare fuel
I love the mercer sphere being dedicated to Dr DM (dungeon master) Mercer (as in critical roles matt mercer) 😅
Already waiting for new episode!
This update is
Satisfactory
I love this series. Please keep making it. ❤
Will do, hoping to get pt 2 edited over the weekend
Gonna love every second of this..
I just realized that "MASSAGE" is the acronym for Maurice Somerville's event. That's why it's the name of the planet.

Total, luv the builds always a fun and informative watch. would you be able to sort the playlist order for this series ep 1 is randomly number 2 in the list, cheers
Odd - I'll look over it
Okay realised the issue - when on the playlist you have to select by publish date. Then it sorts them - I've no idea why the default is incorrect
