To this day I still think that Vegas has the most fluid cover system ever in a third person game. You can easily get in and get out from cover since you hold the cover button instead of just pressing it once. You can go cover on almost every surface in the game. Peeking also feels better since you use the directional keys to pop out from cover, instead of just pressing aim button, meaning you can pick which side of the wall you want to pop your head out to.
It should be mentioned, if anyone cares. It's called Rainbow Six, not because of the ammount of team members. The unit is not called Rainbow Six, they're just called Rainbow. Rainbow in reference to the fact that it's a joint task force made up of Counter Terrorist specialists from all around the world, so their flags combine to form the rainbow. Six is the callsign of their leader. Traditionally in special operations, the leader of the entire unit takes on the callsign of Six, in order to confuse enemies possibly listening to them. Since 1 is the common callsign for leadership, having the leader as Six throws them off. This is the reason why the first three SEAL teams where team 1, 2, then 6. To confuse the Russians into thinking we had more SEAL teams. By the way, John Clark is Six, at least he was in the books. He later becomes president of the United States by the way, Tom Clancy loves reoccurring characters in his books, and all his books take place within the same world. So yes, John Clark and Domingo Chavez from Rainbow Six also exist in the same world as Sam Fisher and the boys of Ghost Recon.
Killer Queen Do you know if Tom had any involvement in the Division? I know he had been dead a while before the Division but I wanna know how it fits into the Tom Clancy Cinematic universe XD
Holy I can not disagree any harder about terrorist hunt. The maps are not lazily thrown together from the campaign, they're literally multiplayer maps with a certain number of terrorists on them. You're allowed to take any gun you want and clear them out how ever you want with up to 4 people. Where enemies are changes entirely by what route you take. It is by far the best part of both vegas 1/2 and is far better than the terrorist hunt mode we got in siege. Terrorist hunt was so damn amazing that it's the main selling point of the games today. We need more coop experiences like this.
Disagree on how they're the main selling point The terrorists are just lazily thrown randomly on the map, it's more frustrating than anything because there's no tactical elements, and you die too fast. It's mostly trial and error if anything.
It's a great experience and offers the best replayability for the games, especially for coop. However, it definitely doesn't have the same amount of polish as the story mode did.
God I can’t believe it’s been 16 years since I’d get home from school and boot up LVU campus and play with my squad T hunt in this was one of my first real gaming experiences especially in the realm of tactical shooters
Hopefully not. I have a guy at work who douses his whole body in Axe after a long work day and it just blends in with his BO. Smells like an Axe bottling factory and a heavy surplus of feet.
Not to be the guy that prompts the "you must be fun at parties" comment, but the name Rainbow Six originally referred to the commander of RAINBOW, John Clark, who has a good history of badassery in the Tom Clancy books In the original book there was also a RAINBOW Five, the second in command, namely Alistair Stanley
I've actually read most of Tom Clancy's books and I gotta say, Cardinal of the Kremlin and Rainbow Six were and are still my favourite books (And game series!)
Playing the games first, I was not at all surprised to discover Ding Chavez was just as much a badass in the book as he was, stats-wise, in the first three games.
Had this game on the 360 back in the day, it was the first ever online multiplayer game I ever played and I loved the hell out of it! Single Player was great too.
Fun fact if you use a sniper rifle you can cheese in cover by zooming in and using blind fire it makes you not expose yourself but shoot with pinpoint accuracy as if you were actually aiming it.
Thanks for the retrospective GGGman, I've been getting back to playing some last gen games from the PS3 and xbox 360 era. Rainbow Six Vegas and its sequel look pretty good and the gameplay still holds up. Might have to hunt these two games down.
Just picked it up recently for ps3 (had it on xbox waaaay back) the game still holds up however the controls scheme is hard to get adjust to especially if you’ve been playing modern fps games
Vegas 2 was a lot of fun. Great level up system, have done the campaign multiple times with different friends. There's still a market for split screen coop
This was my first rs and it blew my mind back in the day. So many details and so complex for an fps at that time. You could confront every situation in multiple ways. The scenarios were all different. Awesome game.
My favourite Rainbow Six was and still is Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Rogue Spear. Especially - Black Thorn expansion. I miss old games, where you control everything, and die from one bullet. They were hard as hell, but very interesting to learn. P.S. - I wanted to ask, Gggmanlives will you review Venom. Codename: Outbreak? That was interesting game from my childhood, and it is tactical FPS, so it will fit your channel.
I love this game so much. Back in 2007 I used to play it all the time on my 360. Now that I'm a way more serious PC gamer I've been meaning to pick it back up again. Such good times.
I personally really enjoyed the R6 Vegas games. I do lament the loss of the planning aspect but I do think they are good games, barring some obnoxious glitches and polish issues. I just wish that we had a modern R6 game that adhered to the series legacy with an in-depth planning mechanic and everything.
R6; Vegas was a great game! My favorite memory was struggling with clearing a slot machine room of enemies, getting frustrated and just telling my team ot stay while I just busted in with a shotgun and cleared them all out. So satisfying!
I was playing Rainbow six 3: ravenshield a LOT, also in a clan !! and i also love vegas 1 & 2.. these are the typical games i can play for hours..just love the feel of the tactical aspects.. a shame, there is no multiplayer anymore for this games... true fps hidden gems, imo !!
It was a very cool game! Even if sometimes the shield+desert eagle/revolver combo felt a little bit of cheating (because it was overpowered i think) it still provided some challenge on Veteran difficulty. Oh yeah, i love how you pointed out the clever AI, it was really well written, and you could also lure the enemies nearby you with some blank shots or grenades. Love this game, i'm looking forward to play it again on PC next time.
We had this game, it was what made us both fall in love with shooters, I still remember some of the guys we played with, kept in contact with a couple over the years, dam, those were some good gaming days... Then COD modern warfare came out
I love the casino level, especially for the contrast between the tragic and chaotic beauty of an ruined Las Vegas decorated with colorful neon lights with the bloody and destructive ugliness of the challenging and unpredictable shootouts against countless merciless terrorists; which helps to create an claustrophobic atmosphere that gives more adrenaline to the gameplay
The two Vegas games are still my favorites from the Rainbow 6 franchise. I like the second game more because in the first game the enemies spammed smoke grenades like crazy and I absolutely hated the part were you have to defend against waves of enemies while also prevent them from destroying a computer.
My favorite fight was the one you have in the theater and moving between seats for cover and then enemies doing the same thing when you get on the stage during the hacking section. Really amazing fight overall.
You can actually play this game and Vegas 2 in 3rd person. Old school style just input a cheat code in the pause menu and bam, 3rd person action! Miss when games used to add cool stuff like that, with no extra charge. Other older Tom Clancy games like the Ghost recon franchise, and splinter cell games were some of my favorite games of all time as well. Something about these games makes them endlessly replayable.
Man, this is still a great looking game. And seeing this is making me want to buy it on Steam and give it a play through. I haven't played it in a long time..Great game!
I had the second one, me and my friends loved playing terrorist hunt. Had a ton of fun with that game, hopefully the next Rainbow game will have a campaign.
please review the first ghost recon, still one of the best tactical shooters of all time (alongside raven shield and a few others) it still absolutely mogs the rest of the series with its tactics and lethality
Never played Vegas 1 but I played a crapload of Vegas 2. Even reinstalled it a few weeks ago just because I had the urge to play Multiplayer-Terrorist Hunt, which is still alive today.
Going to have to massively disagree with TH being lazily put together, this game mode is one of the most intense gaming experiences co-op and solo. levels like library and, the facility style one and also the spanish town were great. It's all about learning the AI and roughly working out where people will be, which to add to it was randomly generated so it made it fun to experiment. Especially throwing a phosphorous grenade into a room and seeing the enemy counter plummet, hugely satisfying, or causing some noise via gunshots and hiding behind a door with your buddy supporting you and creating a crossfire bottleneck of bullet hail. There really hasn't been much recently thats beaten it.
I STILL play Vegas 2 multiplayer on 360! If you think firefights in siege are pretty hectic try an 8v8 team deathmatch with unlimited lives, you haven't lived until you've provided suppressing fire through multiple grenade explosions while your teammates rush through the chaos hipfiring like it's going outta style as bullets rip into the concrete pillar you're using as cover, not just one time but in multiple waves since the respawns don't end! Entire 10-15min matches can turn into some the most intense cover shooting you've ever played, I've been addicted for years!
The multiplayer in this game is basically perfect. I still sit and wait for players in multiplayer, team sharpshooter in 2020. There are almost always games going on. I also live in Las Vegas, and if you need any Blackjack help, see me. Love your channel. I'm a new sub.
aH I adored this in my youth, played it to death. A time when games focused on being awesome out of the box and not obsessed with DLC and subscription fees.
I've gotten the most coop hours out of this and Vegas 2 with my cousin and brother out of any game I've ever played. Terrorist hunt is so fun! We even set our own rules like pistols only, snipers only, or shotguns only just to have excuses to go back and play them!
I was actually happy for the regenerating health, playing OG ghost recon and rainbow six 3 I would completely restart a mission if one of my characters died because it was permanent death, this meant that I usually did the entire mission solo leaving my squad mates at the insertion point so they wouldn't catch a bullet, not having to worry about that let me enjoy the combat more, that and not having my movement speed reduced to that of a quadriplegic sloth after catching a single bullet was a plus.
You should do a video on the saints row games starting with the first game since it’s backwards compatible now. (After the sequel to this game probably)
this and ghost recon 2 are some of the few strategic PS games I've completed. Good game and Ghost Recon 2 is pretty good too. For old games they still hold up very well.
I think you glossed over how dedicated the online community was for the game. I played it a solid 6 years after release and it was a very active community. Keno was a fantastically designed map and the cooperation and communication among players was better than any game I've ever played.
Played that game in january on my last flight to Vegas. It´s a great choice even if you only have a small and light laptop as modern processors and igpus can handle it without any problem.
Wonder what he thinks of the Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter series, the only one's i.e 1 and 2 that I've played tbh, not sure if they're liked/hated by the fanbase though.
I'd say Deus Ex Human Revolution comes close in terms of its cover system.
I think having a similar cover system helps
True. Splinter Cell Conviction was pretty good too.
It's not a 3rd person game..........
One of the few shooters that arguably is better on console
It should be mentioned, if anyone cares.
It's called Rainbow Six, not because of the ammount of team members. The unit is not called Rainbow Six, they're just called Rainbow. It was just a joke, bro.
I know, just talking about the series. Not many people know about it.
Gggmanlives hey man don't poke the fanbear. It'll eat you alive.
Gotta admit it's interesting info he's adding though
Killer Queen Do you know if Tom had any involvement in the Division? I know he had been dead a while before the Division but I wanna know how it fits into the Tom Clancy Cinematic universe XD

The terrorists are just lazily thrown randomly on the map, it's more frustrating than anything because there's no tactical elements, and you die too fast. It's mostly trial and error if anything.
The campaign itself is still the way to go
Totally agree! I spent at least 100 hours trying the different weapon combos, entrance points and difficulty levels
It's a great experience and offers the best replayability for the games, especially for coop. However, it definitely doesn't have the same amount of polish as the story mode did.
God I can’t believe it’s been 16 years since I’d get home from school and boot up LVU campus and play with my squad
T hunt in this was one of my first real gaming experiences especially in the realm of tactical shooters
I really enjoy these retrospective reviews
Dear Sandra,
Terry thanks you for your affections. However, Terry is in a committed relationship.
That one guy really enjoyed you.
i don't know why but i feel like i should use some axe right now
Hopefully not.
I have a guy at work who douses his whole body in Axe after a long work day and it just blends in with his BO. Smells like an Axe bottling factory and a heavy surplus of feet.
Wtf is AXE is that basically what we call lynx in the UK
Just wash your body with some baking soda. Don't smear that aluminum-laden shit on your body.
Lynx Africa is the only that smells good lol
It smells good if you only do a dash. Most people dont know how to dash tho.
*Blasting Away While Saying*
"COME ON, I WON'T SHOOT!"
*keeps shooting*

Thats actually pretty interesting. Thanks for the trivia, man.
I somehow missed those good ol' Xbox 360 bloom graphics
Some tho
@Брандон Кeллeр rly? I like it.
What happens in Rainbow Six: Vegas, stays in Rainbow Six: Vegas.
Clever....NOT.
Too bad it didn't and now we have siege instead of a proper R6 game
Hey man, Siege is a fuckin great game.
Tell that to the sequel
Siege is fucking abysmal
It has nothing to do with R6, it's just another awful e-sports cancer
Thanks for the retrospective GGGman, I've been getting back to playing some last gen games from the PS3 and xbox 360 era. Rainbow Six Vegas and its sequel look pretty good and the gameplay still holds up. Might have to hunt these two games down.

Bobb Sanders it’s all about PC my good sir
With Cutting Edge _Urine Color Grading_ *ᵀᴹ*
Vegas 2 was a lot of fun. Great level up system, have done the campaign multiple times with different friends. There's still a market for split screen coop
vegas 1 or 2 which is better
@@faydulaksono Vegas 1 is a better singleplayer game, better storyline. Vegas2 is a better multiplayer.
"Cmon I won't shoot!"
*gets shot by same guy and dies
6:56 dat transition doe
This was my first rs and it blew my mind back in the day. So many details and so complex for an fps at that time. You could confront every situation in multiple ways. The scenarios were all different. Awesome game.
congrats on 150k+ subs man i think a cup of tea or a glass of single malt scotch is in order
To this day I still remember some of the enemy dialogue.
"SHOOT THE FUCKERS!"
"AIM AND SHOOT! AIM AND SHOOT!"
This was my first introduction to the game series and I loved it. I've played several hundred hours playing this.
I have to say that the varied colour schemes used in the game is very good for the time.
My body lights on fire every time a new GGGMan video shows up.
You should review Tom Clancy’s GRAW
that's a masterpiece along with Hawx
GRAW I &II masterpieces.
I really liked the Vegas games.
Darth Malgus same I personally it's one of the best modern fps around
Back when Ubi used to make some of my fave games. I remember loosing hours to this game but god damn was it hard to run on my pc.
You loose an arrow, you lose hours. Sorry, had to do it.
Ive been watching a lot of your videos recently and they are freaking awesome. Keep up the good work man!
Thanks!
Just went from being tired and stressed to having a smile on my face because I saw a new upload, thanks ggg you are the man
My favourite Rainbow Six was and still is Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Rogue Spear. Especially - Black Thorn expansion. I miss old games, where you control everything, and die from one bullet. They were hard as hell, but very interesting to learn.

Halo 3, Vegas 2 and Modern Warfare are probably the best first person shooters of the 2000s.
Calipso casino, recover the package. Never got old for me, the memories.
That smash cut at 6:57 is amazing
Loved playing this game online!
Nice dude, been waiting for a long while for you to review older Rainbow Six games.
Oh this game was so much fun in co-op! Can't wait for your review of Vegas 2.
Doing gods work sonny jim, great game, loved that you could use a face cam and plaster your mug on the character
I personally really enjoyed the R6 Vegas games. I do lament the loss of the planning aspect but I do think they are good games, barring some obnoxious glitches and polish issues. I just wish that we had a modern R6 game that adhered to the series legacy with an in-depth planning mechanic and everything.
Have you ever thought about covering the Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter games, it's interesting how different the PC and console versions were.
R6; Vegas was a great game! My favorite memory was struggling with clearing a slot machine room of enemies, getting frustrated and just telling my team ot stay while I just busted in with a shotgun and cleared them all out. So satisfying!
Great Review as always! By the way Gggmanlives, what did you think of the Rage 2, Doom Eternal and Wolfenstein Youngblood reveal at e3 yesterday?
YES!! I have been waiting for this so long
I was playing Rainbow six 3: ravenshield a LOT, also in a clan !! and i also love vegas 1 & 2.. these are the typical games i can play for hours..just love the feel of the tactical aspects.. a shame, there is no multiplayer anymore for this games... true fps hidden gems, imo !!
This video was released on my birthday! As a bonus, this was my first game on the XBox360 and one of my favorites!
Happy birthday!
Thanks! :)

Surprised you didn’t do Cold Fear
Can you do a review on Urban Chaos:Riot Response? It's a great hidden gem, truly.
You really should review E.Y.E. Divine Cybermancy.
It's been done. Mandalore did a great video on it.
Gggmanlives I guess that means you share his opinion then, cheers.

I like the second game more because in the first game the enemies spammed smoke grenades like crazy and I absolutely hated the part were you have to defend against waves of enemies while also prevent them from destroying a computer.
Remember I bought this back in '06 when I was like 10, it blew me away. This was the first true "next-gen" experience for me on seventh gen consoles.
very cool review man for an old game it looks awesome cant wait to see what are your thoughts of the sequel of the game.
My favorite fight was the one you have in the theater and moving between seats for cover and then enemies doing the same thing when you get on the stage during the hacking section. Really amazing fight overall.
I really love how aggressive the enemies are!
I put a lot of time into this game, would really love to see them reboot the series and freshen it up a bit.
They will...probably.
The game that got mmorpg to shame in regards to customisation
Rainbow six was and still is my favorite game to play when I was younger.
Thanks to this review and R6V2 review ,i bought it both during Summer Sale
Just become my third Favorite Tactical FPS
I love SWAT 4, but that's the only tactical shooter I've ever played. After I finish playing through Metro 2033 and Last Light, I may give this a go.
You should, but watch out for Ready or Not btw, you will like it.
I miss Vegas 1 and 2 soooo much, I put so many hundreds of hours into them.
Man, this is still a great looking game. And seeing this is making me want to buy it on Steam and give it a play through. I haven't played it in a long time..Great game!
Ah rainbow six Vegas man I remember playing the psp version of it a lot of memorys have been made with this game
Glad to see this game get some love, easily one of my favorites.
Yeah, Vegas and Vegas 2 ain't bad Games, they feel satisfying, challenging and rewarding but I prefer the previous Entries.
I had the second one, me and my friends loved playing terrorist hunt. Had a ton of fun with that game, hopefully the next Rainbow game will have a campaign.
Can i not do terriost hunts with teammates like vegas 2
please review the first ghost recon, still one of the best tactical shooters of all time (alongside raven shield and a few others) it still absolutely mogs the rest of the series with its tactics and lethality
would love a new Rainbow 6 Vegas
Never played Vegas 1 but I played a crapload of Vegas 2.
Even reinstalled it a few weeks ago just because I had the urge to play Multiplayer-Terrorist Hunt, which is still alive today.
I loved rainbow six Vegas. Such a fun game to play with a friend in split screen.
Still one of my favourite games. Loved the cover system, and shooting mechanics were great!
Going to have to massively disagree with TH being lazily put together, this game mode is one of the most intense gaming experiences co-op and solo. levels like library and, the facility style one and also the spanish town were great. aH I adored this in my youth, played it to death. A time when games focused on being awesome out of the box and not obsessed with DLC and subscription fees.
Was the villain of this game Stephen Paddock?
Dr Strangelove >implying Paddock was the actual perpetrator
Dr Strangelove lol.
Saw the video in my suggestion feed and saw it was posted 30 seconds ago. First time I'm this early.
I've gotten the most coop hours out of this and Vegas 2 with my cousin and brother out of any game I've ever played. Terrorist hunt is so fun! We even set our own rules like pistols only, snipers only, or shotguns only just to have excuses to go back and play them!
This review helps a lot because I'm been unsure where to buy this game and it's sequel.
BlueBadgerGamer I downloaded Vegas 2 on Xbox 360, if that helps
you should review the first rainbow six and rogue spear
This and Vegas 2 had some of the most fun co-op back then!
I could be mistaken, but I think it was this game that I loved using a Shotgun with a Scope attachment.
every time gggmanlives says "sonny jim" i come closer to god.
"How do we deal we them?"
"By growing a pair of balls"
Favorite quote by the tangoes
One of my favorite last gen games. I made lifelong friends in the multiplayer.
It was way too difficult to me. Couldn't get past this one enemy in the sewage mission.
Nice review of one of my favourites 👍
Do you know Zeno Clash games? These surreal first person brawlers. I tried to find your reviews of it, but was surprised to find none :)
Looking forward to the next video.
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is 1 of my fav games of the 7th gen
After TC's RS: Vegas 2 maybe TC's Advanced Warfighter? or did I miss the review :)
You should do a video on the saints row games starting with the first game since it’s backwards compatible now. (After the sequel to this game probably)
I remember this game being hard as fuck, I liked it through.
Friend and I play co op while drunk. Game gets pretty hard when the tactic devolvs into walking into a room and just shooting anything that moves.
this and ghost recon 2 are some of the few strategic PS games I've completed. Good game and Ghost Recon 2 is pretty good too. For old games they still hold up very well.
But where is Ding Chavez?!
