In most of the school certificates and in other documents 99percent have declared as they are lingayats. When you are living in a multiculture society, you have accustomed to involve in other Celebrations also. Veerashaiva is a parampara which was existed before basavanna. Bsavanna took deeksha from a veerashaiva Guru. He is a reformer of the rotten society. He took a bold step by arranging an intercaste marriage. But upper caste people who were waited for an opportunity, took revenge. Even today these honour killings are going on. Most af the lingayats are now putting both veerashaiva / lingayats. There ends the matter. There is no dispute among them. No body bothers about disputes. Every thing is going on as usual. First of all,I convey my pranamas to Sri Nijagunand Swamiji. He is the one and only Swamiji who analyzed the differences between Dharma and Mata in very lucid manner.They are Lingayat and Veershaiv respectively. He made no stone unturned to define the both. He deserves to be a real 'Guru' who is able to dispel the age old ignorance of our people. One regretting fact is that the stetus of independant dharm for Lingaya dharm was not granted.Really speaking this Lingayat dharm which was founded by Jagadguru sri Basaveshwar as against the superstitious beliefs of Vaidik dharm absolutely needs an independent religion status like Buddhism ,Jainism and Sikh. But unfortunately it did not get that status.This is mainly because the vested interest and narrow communal persons at the helm of the affairs of our country at present time.But any how keep up your struggle one day it will certainly materialize.
