Thank you Ghosthack. You one of the most talented teacher of the web for plugs, and I've seen a lot! You're always clear, straight to the point with talking, and very skilled. You look young but with a lot of knowledge. Thanks again !
I have been using this for years and never completely understood what I was doing. Your explanation was crisp and taught me things that I did not know. Thank you so much!
I been putting this off for years and only using my ears, but I've finally taking the time to learn Maximus and understand compression, and just wanted to say thanks so much for making this video. You made this very easy for me to understand and straight forward. I love it. Big props.
Oh how much I am learning from you young bucks these days. Thanks I am a producer from Detroit & I used to read the help me section n fl studio bit now i just watch diff vids like yours. Thanks alot.
F*** that saturation was making "a lotta damage" :D I just realized, thanks to you, that the saturation is the last in the whole signal chain, and that the ceiling is the hard limit..... holy shit. That was actually really, really useful. Also I've been using this for months already and making a lot of experiments, but only now realized how great that is. Thanks so much!! I love your videos.... But yeah, Maximus is everything in one package, 3-band parallel (LMH Mix) eq, stereo sep, waveshaper, compressor, expander, gate, limiter.. How about "make a track with only 3xOsc and Maximus" challenge :DD that's literally all you'd need to make killer music. Which you always make c: Cheers!
11:32 according to FL manual that's not exactly true: they both start after the sustain time (I also tested it, and that's the case): REL1 has an accelerating release curve, REL2 has a decelerating curve, that's the only difference. You can also combine both. Sustain of course affects the starting time of both, but in equal amounts and at the same time (I tried it out with Release curve 1 on both). Fun fact: when Sustain is at RMS, the Sustain time affects the starting of the attack too. Isn't mentioned in the manual either, but there's a big difference when the Sustain is long. According to FL manual " - Specifically, this sets the duration over which the input is averaged (RMS), from 0 to 1000 ms. The effect is to control compressor sustain time and prevents the compression envelope from releasing too early" but this is only part of the truth - when the RMS is selected, it also sets the time during which input is averaged also for the attack curve. If the threshold is not exceeded, the compression won't start - I've tried this out many times. It's funny that the manual doesn't even tell this c: Also, you can use the LMH bands with an adjustable LMH lookahead delay to make prematurily releasing envelopes by using the RMS-setting of the sustain, with big sustain values and big LMH lookahead delays. This is because the signal processing is in real time whereas the audio comes afterwards, so it's possible to start the release already before the audio even comes out (premature releasing of the envelope). Idk why this plugin is so addictive
Thank you, Will! It was a very useful video, like all the others on your channel. But I was expecting to learn more details about the work of the envelope in Maximus. For example, how to make an Upward Compression or Downward Expansion using it. I hope you will explain this topic in future videos.
Thanks a lot and you are talented teacher. nice voice, detail of explanation, and clarity in knowledge.(Well..same things already mentioned many times before lol).
Good video. I was looking for something more in depth, like watching how other people actually use this, what kinds of shapes they draw, etc, but I did watch this one all the way through and you got a good description of everything in the plugin.
Finally a good tutorial! Maximize the Maximus window 😉 Thanks a ton. BTW, are you based in Montréal? I've heard about a certain producer named "Ghost" here. Or maybe you're someone else 😅 Thanks anyway.
Super informative. Thanks for passing on your knowledge. We're not getting the results we want from engineers we've been paying so I'm hoping to get to the point that I can do the final editing for our band for free. Downloaded some free PDF's for the basic science behind compression, mixing, mastering, etc. but it doesn't go as in depth as I need it to (especially for my specific DAW). Any recommendations on videos or links for more info on pre-release track completion? (been working on fl for around 8 years, just always put way more time into melodic composition than the science behind the final sound)
hey man, im new to your channel and i have a specific problem, i would like to know if you could make a video on how to duck music behind the vocals using the preset in maximus (if that would be possible), or if you had a video on how to duck music behind your vocals. hope i made some sense. Bless.
Sorry but this should be retitled "Beginners guide to using Maximus". Its like watching an intermediate trying to sound like a pro. Your explainations of gain, saturation and ceiling are aweful, and how you explain attack, release, and sustain is just plain wrong. If your going to make "how to" videos at least make sure you know what everything does, and give situations as to when you would use them.
Thank you

I love your time dedication to a whole bunch of people you don't know! god bless

YUS. Thank you for going over every little thing and making it easy to understand. I now possess knowledge of Maximus.
Oh how much I am learning from you young bucks these days. Thanks I am a producer from Detroit & I used to read the help me section n fl studio bit now i just watch diff vids like yours. Thanks alot.
Thanks for this great feedback, much appreciated! :)
Thank you, very good and straight to the point explanation. Nice video.
Great explanation of Maximus, deserves many more views and likes. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the great feedback!
The best explanations are done in simple terms. Great video explaining casually. 👌

Great video, i was a bit stumped about maximizer in your lofi tutorial (which was great too!) But this video cleared me up on that! Thanks! :)
Great video. Very well explained and shown. Thank you
Very informative!
And the outro track. Levitate was one of my favourite tracks when I was mainly into Dubstep. :)
Clean, work!
would've liked to know more details about the band-separating part, like filtering frequencies from a sample to clean it up for example.
Thank you, Will! It was a very useful video, like all the others on your channel. But I was expecting to learn more details about the work of the envelope in Maximus. For example, how to make an Upward Compression or Downward Expansion using it. I hope you will explain this topic in future videos.
Thank you for explaining Maximus in detail. Loved it 👍
Bruh, your tutorials ,its a Thing , Huge Learn, out of so many maximus tutorial, this 20/10
Thank you
Ghosthack. can you do the tutorial for Maximus now as there is frequency splitter
Thanks a lot and you are talented teacher. nice voice, detail of explanation, and clarity in knowledge.(Well..same things already mentioned many times before lol).

Subscribed you just turned maximus from a tool i use in mastering to an essential plug in throughout
Great to hear! :)
yup.t hanks
this vid should have a million views sir,, thank you!
Thank you for your support, Brandon, we really appreciate it!
Thanks for the tutorial!
The outro is lit bruh🔥
what is happening when you drag that point to the right/left in the left grid? thanks for the help this video was amazing!
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK BRO
Thank you, I have found some new info here, just remember that to reset any knob in FL STUDIO just click on it with the wheel on your mouse. Cheers.
Thnx, you just made maximizer so much more useful to me, not to mention I can eliminate other plugins, which means less overall delay, cheers dude.
Cheers, thanks for your feedback! :)

What’s the difference between cranking the pre and the post when saturating?

Thank you for this video so much easier to understand now
Thank you :) these is awesome organised
Absolutely fantastic tutorial, right to the point and extremely informative! Definitely what I've been looking for💪💪
soundgoodizer has one single knob, is that the "post" in maximus?
Great video thanks Will
Great info 🙌 gonna put into practice!! Thank you!!
Great Job, many thanks for posting 💖 😍
Best explanation yet u rock
Thanks!
I appreciate your video! Thank you.
It would be amazing if you did a similar video for Pro MB by Fabfilter and/or the Izotope equivalent(trash? ozone?).
Check this video here, we already explained the Fabfilter Pro C2 :)

Very helpful and concise information. Well said @Ghosthack.
Thanks a lot. Really well explained.
But how do you set the ratio and threshold I know you use the envelope but i dont understand how
Can I ask you how you made your toolbar menu so wide?

Do you mean side chaining the vocals with an instrument? Or mixing it better?
Thanks!!
Thanks for the video! Very well explained! Wanna buy your sound pack just wondering if you take prepaid credit cards as well? Thanks!
can anyone give me their opinion on the price point of maximus and is it worth it, say if im low budget? im also new to FL just to pass some time
Subscribed!
Nice one, thanks!
thanks, immediately useful
Great tutorial! Thank you!
Nice Explanation Bro
I’m a Maximus expert. I take the bottom left part and pull it up. Makes my tracks loud as shit lol
helped a lot!! Thanks
does this mean i can ignore fruity limiter? ((when it comes to compression and volume)
one of the benefits of the limiter is you can sidechain with it
@@jamesboughton7841 otherwise Maximus is on top because of versatility
that's a short tail, it's a nice tail, there's nothing wrong with that tail. great tail haha
really helpful, thanks :)
Most helpful thank you.
You're welcome, cheers!
my BOY
Actually really fucking good tutorial
thank you so much
0:46 you had a chance to say maximize the maximus and you didn't?
thank you
BANDS!!! Lmao that’s gonna be classic
