I am not a producer. i make music on my phone but one day when i will get a computer i would surely want to do everything i learned from here. Really love your work :)
Your tutorials are incredibly fluid and understandable. You speak things in an incredibly humble way that is respectful to everyone's skill level. You truly have something to teach to everyone, regardless of skill level. You have no idea how much help you have been to me and everyone else watching this!
Thanks a lot for this great tutorial! The "no eyes" idea is simply brilliant! I guess we all mix a lot based on the visual information but there's that great need to trust ears more than eyes for the mixing process. :)
Out of all the tutorials I have been watching , "in the mix" videos are just awesome in every way. Explained to the point on what I actually can understand simply , and perfectly.
Hey Michael, I just wanna express my lifelong gratitude and respect for You, Your channel and Your videos. They have been the most helpful at the beginning of my journey. Chapeu bas!
WoW! This man makes me envy nothing on Cubase, Sonar, or Logic-Pro. I respect your confidence in your work. Take home message for me: No software is necessarily better than the other. Thanks!!! FL team, halla back!!!!
I owe you so much, Michael! I've been watching, taking notes, and applying all the way from video 1 on this playlist. You've truly provided me with golden info and I just don't know what to say.
This video is full of excellent advice! Mixing has always been one of my biggest weaknesses in music production. I started mixing one of my tracks from scratch as I was watching this, and it's sounding surprisingly good! I'm not intimidated by mixing anymore. Thank you! I will definitely check out your other stuff.
dude i am so grateful for your tutorials, I have literally learned so much of how to use fl studio from you and i've gotten to the point where i would consider myself competent in the program. Thanks for all your help and keep up the great work!
Seriously mate, your videos are very efficient, clear and to the point. No fluff, we really see it's about teaching and not about your ego. And as a university student, might I add that it's a quality that too many teachers lack... to a point where I changed a class almost once every semester because I couldn't stand how all the work we had to do was more about validating the professor's point of view than actually learning things. tldr; I feel enthusiastic and refreshed because of your teaching style.
Hey Micheal I have been watching Tutorial for years. So far I kinda like Your Teaching Skills the Best because you explain details & How & Why & You answer questions ahead of time. You use proper explanatory words that make sense. Your an excellent Instructor & an amazing Music Producer. Please do not stop
Bruh u the most good guy teaching how to mix❤I'm 20 and producing songs and ur videos motivate me every time I watch it so keep doing ur thing fan from Norway🇳🇴❤💯
I've been watching your tutorials for a while... like, over and over again and it has helped me a lot. Thanks, man, I love you. I owe you a couple beers.
Sir.. A huge thanks from my side... People like you are the ones on whose shoulders, the world is sitting.... Thnk u very much sir.... We will meet soon.
It's happened to me so many times that I just search for a production tutorial on TH-cam, I start watching some random tutorial and half way through I realise, In The Mix would definitely have a tutorial on this topic and I come back to you. Thanks for the quality content, Michael
Thanks man, the way you explain stuff just allows me to really understand how everything goes together. These are the only videos I've been watching to learn FL Studio and they have helped me so much!
You are the only channel I follow for advice that makes sense! I even did a survey for BBC for a free vst and said you were the one I go to for advice on youtube (it was part of the survey questions for a FREE LABS Orchestra VST)
Thank you bro for your version of mixing, I am applying it to my project and I can see the difference, oh yes bdw the song is so awesome!! all the best
Missing the more advanced vids ... it would be great of u if u make tutorials about sound design. I mean like using Serum and Sytrus. Please think about it and thank you.
Yeah me too! I wanted to make the basics series all together if you know what I mean? I have a few really cool (I hope so) video ideas on the way including sound design with saturation, guitar recording and mixing and a new remix contest where we are giving away all the stems not just the vocals :)
In The Mix will be waiting for them ... and again thanks for the brief and to the point tutorials ... you’re a great person ... following u from Egypt ... keep it up !
i was really pissed my sub was not clicked man ive been looking for your videos! You helped me with my whole process. This is the best channel to learn #1 forsure! Thank You Michael good work!
I learnt a lot from your tutorials. I've stopped learning from others ever since i came in touch with "in the mix" tutorials. Thanks Friend. I'm grateful. I wish to be releasing my own personally mixed & mastered songs,
The mixing with eyes and ears ALWAYS gets me! I gotta train myself to just start closing my eyes and really let my ears do the work. I can screw up a good mix just by letting my eyes tell me what it should and shouldn’t sound like.
I agree with 'The Producer School's' comment, in that you have the Best tutorials on TH-cam in my opinion. You have made something that was somewhat locked to the new user (myself), very accessible and understandable. Thank you very much indeed.
Saving this one. I finally got passed the point of being scared to make decisions, now I’m making decisions without applying logic to a certain degree. Also, my ears are a little deceptive lol but it may be because I lost sight of my road map applying to much at one time. What I got from this is that thinking things through while understanding where you are in your work flow can enhance the experience of a track.
Hey man, I just wanna say thanks so much for this tutorial. Your first tip about getting the volumes right before adding effects was actually so useful for me, because I was really screwing up my mixes. After putting that into practice, my mixes are soooo much cleaner, and my bass and kick feel like they are really punching, and everything has way more balance. I didn't think such a simple tip would so drastically change the way I mix songs. I went back to a bunch of old projects and practiced leveling, and even with those it changed the sound so much. Thanks for your knowledge :)
Wow this one video actually helped me a lot I clearly understand what he was saying and how he was doing it. Keep doing what you’re doing love you’re videos
Your amazing mate, you and Another Monster productions videos are so on point, and I enjoy watching then. none of that nonsense involved like those cartoon effect stupidness, just straight to the point. Thanks.
I haven't finished watching the video yet but I had to comment. Thank you a lot for you videos, they're great! It really helps me figure things out as a beginner
Additional tip which i found really useful is to use pinknoise and balance upon it. Pinknoise is similar to whitenoise but to put it simple it has less high frequencies. You put pinknoise the master channel at approx -6 and start playing each bus separately and adjust until you barely hear it overlayed with the pinknoise. This is a guidance to start with, further adjustments should be done after all buses are checked with pinknoise.
You have great tutorials! They've helped me a lot! I see the difference between the mixed/unmixed in this video but it seems like even your unmixed vocals sit inside the music fairly well. What went into the unmixed vocals to get them there??
Before I watched this, I almost scrapped a song bc it sounded awful. This made me think about mixing in a different way. That song i almost scrapped is now the best sounding song i've made. 10/10 video.
first time watching this video i didn't understand shit but going through fl studio for myself and having some struggles and coming back to this it helps a whole lot
Hi Michael, your videos are thoroughly much helpful to me. the background music of this video is soothing to heart. Thanks a bunch. I see no patterns of beats in general in your project. Is it the best way to change patterns to wave form in a project ? Please let me know
'In the mix' has defenitely the BEST mixing tutorials on youtube, well explained and easy to follow :)
The Producer School Thank you very much, I appreciate all the work you put in to help producers too!
yeeaaaa
@Versaro lmaooo hahaha
yeah and he also have better tutorials than you guys ever did.
ouchhh you aint gotta go at them like that
*"If it sounds right, then it is right"* 😍
Yes...that's the point😇
I first watched this video almost a year ago and I have never forgot this
I love that he said that. It seems so obvious, yet it's so easy to forget while mixing.
I always just put my volume almost all the way up Idk maybe it’s just the way I make music it just sounds perfect
Can't forget sound design. If you pick the right sounds from the start, a balanced mix will be much easier to achieve.
Infidel Productionz You're absolutely right, that's something I definitely did NOT understand at the start! T
Indeed bro
so true
3x Osc FTW
Why does your name literally mean that you cheat on people in relationships

Michael Wynne - "If it sounds right then it is right."
Golden words🔥
You are very helpful and you don't use advanced words like all the other channels making tutorials on fl studio :)
Razzer No worries, yeah there is no point in over complicating it!
Thanks a lot for this great tutorial! The "no eyes" idea is simply brilliant! I guess we all mix a lot based on the visual information but there's that great need to trust ears more than eyes for the mixing process. :)

Such a clear tutorial. i like how you dont overcomplicate things, unlike a lot of other youtubers that make it sound like rocket science
No one could have explained this better. You are, by far, one of the best tutors I've ever seen in the whole history of TH-cam.

almost 3 years in im just starting to understand mixing and mastering 😅 awesome tutorial thanks as always Michael
I'm having trouble getting my tracks sounding loud. When I master it it's still not as loud as my reference tracks
same
This is kinda late but try gainstaging. Mix it at low levels then when you master it just use maximus to kinda get it sound louder
Chiino love u thanks bro
use maximus with clear master preset. it boosts your music and doesn't change the character of your song at all.
Thank you for the video tutorial. These are always tremendously helpful:)
Abraham Garza Thank you very much, I'm happy to help :)
