The meaning of “Brothers in Arms” rings true across more than just when we’re at war overseas, but when we’re fighting amongst ourselves.
When political and other divisions split us, we have to take a step back and remember that we always have more in common with each other than we have that is different. And we need to see all of our fellow human beings as the brothers and sisters we are, so we can live in a more harmonious society ❤️

This is usually the first Home Free song that I recommend to folks hearing them for the first time. And it's always funny watching ladies get the vapors when Tim starts singing his solo...😂
Lol. True enough!
I'm the same, it gets me smiling every time I watch a reaction and people (usually the girls really) are sliding off their chairs when Tim comes in. Especially if it is there first time listening to Home Free.
Another good one to recommend is Ring of Fire
Yes, ring of fire! If u love Tim Foust, you're absolutely adore Avi Kaplans base 🥰
She got Tim Fousted!
Home Free doesn't just do a cover, they do Upgrades!
💕
This is the song that we normally suggest for reactors to listen to first. It's a great introduction video to Home Free and what they can do. It has a great "shock" factor. Most reactors can't get over Adam Rupp making the harmonica sound without a harmonica. That's why we call it a "nomonica". 😆Great reaction. Thanks Red. 🍟
💕💕
And it is mild in this song compared to when his just plain goes crazy.
@@ghstdnsr I can’t wait!
@@redheadedneighbor Some final notes before I vanish awhile, Do Champagne taste on a beer budget before the song Full of Cheer as they sorta go together. The Stargazer Trilogy in the correct order and heard you mention the song folk told you to wait a bit on and that would be Mayday.
@@ghstdnsr thank you!
I am always amazed how women melt when they hear Tim's deep bass vocals.
We just can’t help it
@@redheadedneighbor At least you didn't make the mistake some women do, which is to leave the camera on while they pause the video to shout "honey, I'm leaving you" into the next room...
You missed when Tim (the bass) drops an octave after his solo
I sing right along with him I can sing from Tim's lowest right up to Franky Valley and It's a lot of fun to have that range but I like going low the best.. I'm old now and I really enjoy watching a guy like Tim do it right.
This song was my Home Free gateway. As of yet, there is no known cure.
Gateway.. lol
This is the 1st song I listened to from the boys!! I've been addicted since then
That makes it really special!
That's the thing about Home Free.....whoever is singing at the time "is my favorite singer" !!!
Yup
This is one of the most popular Home Free songs. It was the first song I ever heard from Home Free & I was instantly hooked. It really showcases the talent of these 5 men (their tight harmonies, Tim Foust's bass & Adam Rupp's incredible beatboxing). They are my favorite a cappella group. This song is very old (about 100 yrs.) & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.
💕💕💕
110 years old to be exact!
At friday show they said that it is the 3rd most song for them I believe he said that was downloaded.
The favorite moments of watching all reactors when the discover Home Free, is when they really fall in love with them. I remember my falling in love with them, their voices, their extra sounds, and their "thumb prints" as you call them. It's a sweet, lovely moment, and I've enjoyed watching dozens and dozens of reactors going through that very same falling in love moment... I love it!
Their rendition is so far beyond the original it's a different song. Adam Rupp's percussion in this is superhuman! Great choice!
The guy with the blue grass cry is from Minnesota! These guys are so talented they can do it all. I’ll bet they put in a lot of practice too.
Love that. It’s not a state.. it’s a state of mind!🥰A.Cal
Just love how you are falling into this rabbit hole. They sound just as good in concerts. This group has 5 tenors, 5 beat boxers, 1 baritone and the best bass singer.
🤯🤯🤯🤯
5 tenors, 5 beatboxers, 2/3 baritones and 2/3 basses. Adam's range is almost as impressive as Tim's.
I really enjoy watching your reaction to "Home Free" voice only harmonies! Please check out "Ringmasters" a Barbershop Quartet singing "Smile" a song written by Charlie Chaplin! WOW!
I love the moment when someone watching them falls in love the first time welcome to the rabbit hole
This was my intro to Home Free, and I think it's the perfect intro video, except you have to explain to people that (a) no, there is no harmonica, and (b) no one in the band is really showing off what they can do here. It's just a perfectly done song.
(You may not have noticed that Tim drops an octave for "while he is sleeping in his grave". That's still not showing off. Tim is known for blowing out sound systems at professional venues -- search youtube if you don't believe me -- just by singing into a microphone. Adam Rupp does it sometimes, too, but again, we're pretty sure he's from another planet, so, doesn't count.)
Such an alien
@@redheadedneighbor Okay but have you seen that one drum solo video yet? Hm?
(If not, a couple valiums beforehand might not be a bad idea. Because, dang.)
@@uosuaq I have not… I might need that sooner rather than later
My favourite Home Free Christmas song is Do You Hear What I Hear. Arranged by Adam Rupp the beatboxer and just beautiful.
That deep bass drop on "while he is sleeping in his grave" was Chance, not Tim. Chance is the guy in the back with hat and vest.
I love all the special sounds that they put in there like the cicadas sound and the jaw Harp. By chance
And also Adam Rupp, he's no monica sound
It’s in the details
I have loved watching you discover the joy of Home Free! My favorite Christmas songs are Mary Did You Know, Do You Hear What I Hear (a song I never cared for until I heard this version) and even though not truly Chistmasy, Children Go Where I Send Thee with Kenny Rogers. I can't wait to hear you react to Helplessly Hoping. It is amazing.
Yes - these 3 are essential #homefree !
I’m excited to explore
They’re so good!!! Loved your reaction to them. Home Free loves to go back to the origins of a song. This song is over 100 years old (it was made famous in the movie O Brother Where Art Thou). This was filmed in S. Alabama (I think) where Chance is from. Chance was doing the mouth harp sound. When live Chance will do the sound into the looper as it hurts his voice to do it too long. Also Austin (lead here) will join Adam (beatboxer) doing the harmonica. So much fun. They can all beatbox to a degree. They really are great. Try Unchained Melody, Mary Did You Know, What Child is This, Die a Happy Man, What We Ain’t Got….so many good ones!!!! 🥰😍
Absolutely!
You know.. maybe it's time for you to check out their *Butts Medley.* LOLLOLLOL
Sounds right up my alley
And Boyz 2 men End of the Road
@@justme-xq5ml There's just too many to choose from! One of my favorites, I believe is under-rated: *I Can't Outrun You.*
@@justme-xq5ml A few days ago I suggested she just react to 3 or 4 HF songs a day. :)
@@justme-xq5ml The list is almost endless! I suggested she do at least 3 - 4 HF songs a day! :)
Tim's bass gets them every time😂
😏
Yes, Home Free sings a lot of different genres--and bluegrass is definitely one of them 😊
I’m glad!
This has been the video that HF first timers are usually introduced to HF, and even though you began with Elvira and reacted to other HF videos, your reaction is much the same as those hearing HF for the first time. HF is the best of the best of what they do and no other band presently or even historically has matched the rich harmonies they offer to the listener. Great reaction and you can officially say you are now a Home Fry.
So good
The original song was published in 1913 and later covered by Bob Dylan & Joan Baez among others. You've already watched some Home Free but this will still surprise you - you haven't heard Adam's "no-monica" yet or Chance's didgeridoo! Thanks for playing this & your comments.
Fascinating to me.
Just when you think that home free can't top their last performance. Absolutely 💯 wow!
You should listen to their song Do you here what I here, great song in a ice castle
Gonna happen soon!
This song is 100+ years old so many people have sung it. I believe this was filmed in Alabama.
Please, judge "Man of constant sorrow" sung by bass singer Geoff Castellucci. You will be delighted!
Even if it is a song you normally do not like these guys will knock it out of the park every time.
That has happened to me with “ The big Push”
This is their most popular song. These boys are amazing. CK out their latest Cruise and Oh Beautiful Star of Bethlehem featuring The Oakridge Boys, also Christmas in LA.❤️❤️❤️❤️
Definitely will
If you like acapella groups like Homefree, you should check out the group Voiceplay. Like Homefree, an extremely talented group.
You're smooth as butter for certain. I'd 💕 love you're react. To "Go Rest High On that Mountain 🌄. Home free darlin
Love this by Home Free, their friend from VoicePlay Geoff Castellucci did his own LOW bass cover of this song which made me melt.
Wow!🔥🔥🔥
Everything about this video, from the voices and the costuming should be a case study on the female gaze bc ohhhhh man these fellas are perfect.
This comment. 5 stars.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Yep, they're that good!!! Home Free is unbelievably versatile. Not only can they do bluegrass/country, but they can do R&B (Boyz II Men's End of the Road), oldies like When a Man Loves'a Woman, Crazy or American Pie (with Don McLean); and if you're looking for some laughs, check out their Butts Remix or Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget. Their musical catalog is large, and it's all good! Enjoy your trip down the Home Free rabbit hole.
Thank you
Their cover of American Pie is the most open of all their talents.
Rob, being from Minnesota, his "Bluegrass Cry" is more acquired perhaps than natural (maybe). However Austin's is natural being from Georgia and so is Tim's being from Texas. Yet they can sing without it when they sing Pop or Hip Hop. They are so versatile and talented. That is why we say they lean country but can and do sing any genre of music. Love your reactions. You are becoming one of my favorite reactors. So looking forward to see what you listen to next.
Thank you. I love it when a group can just make it seem effortless. They do that with ease.. and I know good and well they must work like animals to perfect it. Fascinating
❤@@redheadedneighbor
O Holy Night, Children Go Where I Send Thee with Kenny Rogers, Snow Globe, Cold Hard Cash, Full of Cheer, What Christmas Means to Me; Mary Did You Know, White Christmas - naming just a few😂🎉
To me the best followup to this song is their version of "Mayday". An amazing contrast and my two favorite songs by them! I didn't even know the song Mayday, before I heard their version.
That one is very popular
If you like Home Free, then you should check out Voiceplay, another a capella group. Also, the bass for Voiceplay, Geoff Castellucci, has his own channel and does amazing covers as well. You won't be disappointed.
So much talent! So little time!
Absolutely! I would suggest 'Sixteen Tons', 'Shenandoah' and 'Way Down' to start with for Geoff - and 'I Can't Make You Love Me' and 'Tennessee Whisky' for Voiceplay, but like Home Free (who they are good friends with!), anywhere you stick a pin in their playlists will be good! VP have covers from Metallica to Disney, from 'Wicked' to 'Running Up That Hill', and everything in between!
Adam Rupp (beatboxer) is an alien 👽! 😂
Enjoying your reactions!
Agree
The setting is an homage to the "Soggy Bottom Boys" from "Oh Brother Where Art Thou"!!
Yes!
They do a great cover of Listen to the Music with great imitation of instruments. Do You Hear What I Hear is the greatest cover I've ever heard as far as Christmas songs go, and it's arranged by their beatboxer Adam Rupp. Lots of instrument sounds to go around. They even do an instrumental interlude in Can't Stop the Feeling.
You are selling me….💕
Great reaction Red I've been a fan of Home Free for over a decade now and they in my opinion really showed out during the lockdown time giving us something new every two weeks even though they were at their own homes all in different states and not long ago putting out a great album called sounds of the lockdown.
I’m glad something bright came from a dark time. What a group!
Love that every grown woman first hears those deep notes and just melts 😄
😏
So many replies have echoed my own, this was my introduction to Home Free. I watched the video over and over for nearly two hours then began forwarding it to family and friends. I was totally blown away and still am. Home Free never fails to bring us the most amazing music. Enjoy your channel immensely, you're so open and honest with your reactions. Loved the giggles.
Thank you so much. I love that you shared this with your family and friends. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. I bet they were so appreciative!
Your reaction was everything I expected from you -- genuine amazement and joy at discovering the real diversity of my favorite vocal band! Judging from the 53 comments you already got in less than an hour, I don't need to provide you with encouragement. You've got it, girl! Thanks for sharing this with us; I really enjoyed your comments!
Thank YOU so much. I appreciate that
Adorable reaction! I saw a compilation of lady reactors swooning over Tim's bass section, you would fit right in there! ;)
Lol
# Home Free, welcome to the fans! Enjoyed hearing this with your eyes, great job. Left front- Rob - tenor, front center - Austin high tenor, Low bass - Tim , front right, left in back - Adam Chance -baritone/ bass/ and mouth harp, right in back - Adam Rupp / vocal percussion/ handmonica and a lot of other sounds! That is the lineup that they still have today! Your friend/ low bass Kenneth.
Thank you!
We call it Adam’s Nomonica
This is the reaction page that I come to when I need to smile. Thanks, Red, for sharing your smile with us again.
I subbed for Angelina Jordan, but sticken' round for Homefree. I am an Angel and a Homefry.❤😊 You will be surprised and delighted with this group.
Oh! That is wonderful!
You need to listen to Home Free doing How Great Thou Art. It will take you to heaven!
I'll check it out!
And for Christmas - an absolute must is "Do You Hear What I Hear!"
That seems to be the popular thing…
I have heard that song hundreds of time and love watching "tater tots" (new Home Fries) have there first "Tim-Gasm"
Lol
God damn, the Coen brothers were visionaries. Soggy Bottom Boys forever! 😉
Lol
As soon as you said that you love the original and "didn't think Home Free could do it better or even as good", I knew we were in for a treat watching your mind get blown. 😃
Lol. Fun for me, too!
Also, record scratches on the opening were done by Rob!! Don't forget the No-monica!!
🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
You should soon figure out that whatever HF does is nearly ALWAYS an upgrade from the "original" that you know. Seeing how you like Tim (bass), you should go see his duet with Peter Hollens on "Misty Mountains".
I sure do
My favorite by them is their Johnny Cash cover "Ring Of Fire" featuring Avi Caplan from Pentatonics...love that video
I am looking forward to it
Thanks for the reaction! If you want to get an idea of how good their member Chance is you have watch a video called Cover me up. This one is Chance's moment in the sun, among others and really showcases his talent. He is not one to always get the lead in many of their songs but he is good enough to that is for sure! Please watch this one as it even has a surprise at the end that will make Chance another one of your favorite Home Free members lol See ya next time!
Hold on! You have me interested!!
I will warn you, this is another Home Free mind blower lol as they all are!! @@redheadedneighbor
After a few more reactions of them and getting to know the voices. Their version of Mayday will blow your mind.
That one is highly requested
Just remember Tim is the bass when you watch.
Yep your a Homefry now welcome to the group beautiful!! They are Amazing! Seen them live 3 times and they will blow you away. I watch alot of Homefree reactors as well. Hmmm another Christmas one. I say Do You Hear What I Hear probably my all time favorite. Then Children Go Where I Send Thee with Kenny Rogers RIP!
Coming up soon!
My first of hundreds of Home Free covers and originals. Home Free is unique!
Yup!
"They've got that Bluegrass cry !".........yeah, they do, Red..........🤠
Great reaction! I love seeing a new Home Fry being born! A new subscriber. If you get a chance to see them live, jump on it. It is a great experience.
I have never been to a concert, so I’ll add them to my list!
You need to listen to Misty Mountains featuring Tim Foust to see just how low he can go, and how rich the harmony can be with just two people singing multiple parts,
😳
And another great reaction, Red! Thanks for sharing. I just wanted to point out one thing ;-) Tim, who sang the deep bass here, also was the lead tenor on O Holy Night that you reacted to previously. I've never seen anyone with his vocal range before. Also, there is a great way to tell if you are watching an older Home Free song or a newer one, if Austin is clean shaven, it's an older video. If you want a good chuckle, search for Home Free story time with Tim. The guy is funny as heck.
Thank you for that
Also, Adam Rupp's brother, Chris, was a co-founder of the group but left in 2016, and Adam Chance replaced him. He was the bass singer for Street Corner Symphony before that, and has been a tremendous addition to the group.
You recognized the mouth harp sound effect by Adam Chance - well done!
This one, and The Butts Remix are my favorites.
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole the more you learn the more you like this group.
This arrangement is so strong. All the sounds and rhythm is produced by vocals acopello.😊
I'm really loving your fall into the rabbit hole. Now you need to hear Chance in the spotlight. Check out "Some Girls Do," "Cover Me Up," (be sure to watch to the very end), and the Crosby, Stills, and Nash cover of "Helplessly Hoping" for pure five part harmony with no beat boxing. Enjoy the ride!
Those sound great!
Great reaction, Home Free is awesome! Have you heard of a band called The Petersens from Branson, MO? They are a folk/bluegrass/country family band that have become hugely popular nationally, and even play concerts in Europe. It includes the mom, three sisters, brother, and one non-family member. They each play a different instrument, including the fiddle, dobro, banjo, guitar, bass, and mandolin. Each sister takes a turn at lead vocals, so every song sounds very different. You might check them out!
Actually, I think I have!!
Just so you know this song was writen in 1924 amd sang by may artist over the years.
Yes, I’m familiar. Mostly I was referring to hearing that as a child in blue grass festivals. 💕
Now you have to react to their cover of "End of the Road" by B2M. They kill that too! For a Christmas song, you can't get any better than "Do You Hear What I Hear" by them. It was arranged by the beatboxer Adam. ❤
I love that song
Yup. We know. LoL! Amazing. Thanks for the Home Free reactions.
Lol
Some time you should check out another a capella group, Voiceplay. They have been called The Theatre Kids of A Capella because the staging, makeup, and costumes in their videos is amazing. Their bass singer, Geoff Castellucci has a solo channel as well where he shows his incredible 5 octave range.
Def will
I know what you mean by having more than one "favorite"; this was my first Home Free song, and I fell in love with Tim's bass. But after 4 years of listening to them, I have settled on Austin as my favorite......but there's Chance smooth masculine tones....and Rob's angelic tenor.....and Tim gets to my soul.....but no....for sure....Austin is my favorite.
You have me cracking up.. even with this fever! Lol
@@redheadedneighbor I'm sorry you're not well. Sending healing vibes....and a prayer....for your recovery. 😊🙏
Must hear Brothers in Arms.
For Christmas start with Home Free's Do Yoy Hear What I Hear, arranged by Adam Rupp, beatboxer and founder.
That one seems popular
They also do side project Trylistening to Tim Foust and Peter Holland singing "misty Mountains" Or Austain an Rob singing "Two Country Singers Try singing Opera" On Austins chanell both tracks are amazing.
This is a tune sung by 'The Soggy Bottom Boys' in the Coen Brothers film 'Oh Brother Where Art Thou'. It's a song going back over 100 years ! Great tune !
You took the blue pill and headed down the rabbit hole …. Hold on ……thanks for your reaction ❤❤❤
It's the red pill that sends you down the rabbit hole. The blue pill sends you back to the reality that you're already accustomed to and you go back to sleep.
This is the one that got me into Home Free 8 months ago. It's been an incredible ride so far!
I love that you have the months down!
@@redheadedneighborwell I may or may not be on the spectrum, so I may or may not pay more attention to those kind of things. 😉
Yea they sing great! But I like the energy of the Brother where art thou one much more.
That’s fair
Great Band! Great Track! Great Reaction!!!! Thank You so Much Thank You so Much ✌✌✌ 🇦🇺
Much love💕 Thank you
Tim Foust is from Texas, Austin is from Tifton, GA, (Adam) Chance is from Calif, Beatboxer Adam Rupp and Rob Lindquist are from Minn. but all have country bones.
They do so well
Austin has the Georgia drawl and twang and can do the bluegrass. And, he can yodel. Listen to "All That Bass"!!
Oh!!!
If you likef this, you're gonna love what they did with "Take Me Home Country Roads". Its incredible
The hip hop part was done by Rob. He is the lead in their version of Boys II Men's "End of The Road".
Theres a vast library of many genres in the rabbit hole that is Home Free
I’m so impressed
I guess it's hard to judge these guys harshly when they melted you 30 seconds in! And we all knew what was going to happen when Tim dropped...
That’s good music 😊
💕
There’s no genre they shy away from!! Hard to believe it’s all vocal!! Adam chance starts and ends with the jaws harp sound Adam Rupp the boxer with the harmonica sound! in the live on stage performance of this Austin the lead singer that goes over and does her know her Monica do it with Adam! About the time you think you know exactly which part they saying they love to switch it up!! I know someone will eventually recommend,, end of the road! ;… 9 to5… Live on stage performance or each member is part of a beatboxing routine!!;… Helplessly HopingSonic on… Hillbilly bone;… To country singers try singing Opera!! Great reaction can’t wait for the next one!!
I’m so glad! I want to see them! Lol
This is such a great rendition of this song. Since you are enjoying acapella music, may I also recommend Voice Play and their bass, Geoff Castellucci. Geoff's version of 16 Tons by Tennessee Ernie Ford is incredible. Voice Play also has some great Christmas songs from The Nightmare Before Christmas like the Oogie Boogie Song. I know you will enjoy them.
If you haven't done it already, you should check out Home Free's "Butts Remix." It's both hilarious and amazing.
The song was originally titled "Farewell Song" in a songbook by Burnett dated to around 1913. A version recorded by Emry Arthur in 1928 gave the song its current titles. What most people call the original is not I remember hearing old people singing this song when I was a child. I love Home Free's version better than the comedic version from " O Brother, Where Art Thou?"
Yes, I heard it in bluegrass festivals growing up.
I concur with the others about this usually being the suggestion for new Home Free reactors. Even this being like your fourth reaction, you were still shocked at how good this is! We long time Home Fries still get wowed at how they consistently still get better! It seems impossible, but they’re always improving or evolving. They do go outside the box occasionally. Their Sea Shanty Medley went viral on TikTok during the end of the pandemic. Even then when they were quarantined like the rest of us, they put out some of the most creative and exceptionally great videos in their homes.
I’m so excited to see how fast you have become a Home Fry! Love your channel!!
Thank you. I am very excited about these guys!💕
Thanks again.
My pleasure!
I saw them in person the first time last friday and OH MY was this one good in person.
I’m jeaous
@@redheadedneighbor haha I been like that for years as it had not worked out for me to go until last week. My daughter and I had a blast. next time my granddaughter that is 2 is going. She loves listening to them. Today my daughter put them on to calm her down as she was fussing this afternoon.
ONE FOR THE ALGORITHM. CHEERS!!
Thank you!
The fact that he played the harmonica, without a harmonica was fascinating!
Love you beautiful🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Awww. Thank you
