Appreciate the tut! Question for you... I’ve heard that you want to cap your subject line to 3-5 words for glazing purposes. However, with remaining short, do you find it possible to NOT sound salesee, and human-like? What are your thoughts?
I probably sell like I buy - meaning that I probably filter my selling practices through how I personally respond to others selling to me. Now, that being said, a misspelled subject line is NOT getting opened by me unless I already know the sender. When I see a misspelling I feel the sender is either rushing and not caring about details or is not smart enough to spell a word - both ways don't impress me. Just my .02
+Michael Stedman Great point. We're sharing information on what works for many sales teams here, and we've seen spelling mistakes improve email open rates. That said, it can backfire as well-some people will react just the way you do. Ultimately it's your choice whether this is something you feel would work for your specific audience. It's a tough balancing act between trusting your guts and disregarding effective ideas because they run against your own preconceived notions. Seems like you've given this proper thought and made a concscious choice, so that's good :)
I agree with Michael I would never open something with poor spelling or grammar in the subject. I'm even less likely to respond to an email with those mistakes in the body. I get emails with my email address name "ajung" in the subject or opener. If you start with "Hi ajung," you've now guaranteed I won't respond. If something feels copy and pasted i'm very unlikely to respond.
Thanks for the tips, Steli. You've definitely given me ideas to work with. I'm intrigued about the idea to send a subject line with no body of the email. I usually get irritated when I receive an email like that. I'm not sure it would convert into any meaningful interaction.
Hey, I like your talk, coz it's full of energy & excitement, and you stand in front me, doing many funny expressions.:)) Looks great than other speakers..good job..I will try send you an email, just await :)

I agree. I’m not about to misspell a word and look like an idiot. Who wants to deal with an incompetent dolt?
Thanks a lot for this!

Awesome!
If you're going to send the same email to a lot of people, use Bcc instead of Cc. The B stands for Blank so other people won't see it.
Thanks for sharing!
