    • @Alanbataar

      @@polygonpen Could you steer me to a video that addresses this problem? I have an illustration which I need to make blood vessels, and show a "fuzzy cutaway" of the inside, like a transparency effect. Currently, I'm making 2 models - the outside and the inside, and doing the transparency effect in photoshop, which isn't bad. What I'm having trouble with is I'm using an 8-side N-Gon, swept on a path to create the blood vessel, and I'm manually intersecting them (connect both objects, poly pen, draw octagon, delete center point, use bridge tool to make the joint). The issue is when I have to split the vessel in half - I select the points & delete, which leaves a hole in the poly mesh. SubD doesn't like that, doesn't like "fill poly hole" either. I have had to manually bridge 100s of polys to close it. Is there a better way?

    • @polygonpen
      @polygonpen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Alanbataar If you extrude the caps and then right click and say collapse, it will give you a center adge so you can use symmetry without closing any caps, if I ınderstand your question correctly.

    • @Alanbataar
      @Alanbataar 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@polygonpen I think that would work if I were building only the outside, but I'm sweeping the inside and outside together, then splitting in half, and the model is very organic, so symmetry isn't going to work.
      I just now found that I *can* use "Fill Poly Hole" if I do "Remove N-gons" after - it nicely connects the inside and outside polys with a closed edge. It works, and it's fast. Thank you *very* much for replying! I really appreciate that. ****after my deadline, I'll try your way, and see if I can make it work. :)

    When I add a subdivision to the top symmetry at 1:13 in your vid, a hole appears in the center from the center corner becoming rounded. Any chance you can do this again but in the newer 2024 version?
