What a great lesson for a beginner like me. I have to admit i have put the guitar down for a few months but after seeing this video it inspired me to dust it off and give it a go. Thanks!
Your plug for your book in this video earned you a purchase by me. This is the right way to market your products, everyone. Not by bait and switch, or harassing people who aren't even interested.
Hi Andy, long time subscriber - thankyou, been struggling a bit with the 12 barre riff, but this has really helped !!! Off to try Georgia Satalittes next
Thank u thank u...also i wanna thanks to my parents to pushing me to study English and my wife to push me to buy a guitar at my 40's ..cheers from Argentina Andy
fantastic! you are the best guitar teacher I ever seen till now. congrats for you work and your youtube channel and website, really really great job ! I am going to buy your guitar-course bundle, you deserve it. CIAO
This is exactly the lesson I've been searching for! Your lessons are inspirational! I have an EPIPHONE semi hollow WILDKAT Studio electric guitar and a Yamaha THR10C modelling amp. The Blues is the genre of music that is my passion. Can you advise me, what of your learning products and courses are most suited for me, as a total beginner? I have heard great recommendations with regard to your notes and scales stickers, for use on the fretboard. Are they still available for me to purchase as well? Thank you Andy.
+Gypsy Rose Wallflower thanks for the comment! I highly advise getting my full Beginners course on DVD or download. Level 7 in particular is full of blues lessons www.andyguitar.co.uk/shop/product/andys-beginner-course-dvds/
Andy Guitar Thank you so much. I can't wait to use your products and make them the structural base, for my guided learning and achievement, whilst thoroughly enjoying myself.
Andy all your instructional vids are great. In the case of this lesson, I think you should consider having the tone set to clean. Instead of whatever you are using here. This tone would be great for a lead but not for a basic rythum course. [sorry my spell check isn't working.]
Andy, great videos and very inspiring for me as a over 50's beginner. But, while trying your videos I can never get the same sound from my guitar, are you using pedals and if so could you show or tell us what type you are using?
I really enjoy your videos and books Andy your a big help for an old fart like me. Would you please teach us how to play some classic John Mellencamp ? Thank you Andy.
Hey Andy a wile ago you showed us how to play caroline by status quo... cant you do "whatever you want" ?? Im having a bit of a struggle at the intro on witch string to pick ... You teach in a way that even i am learning.... 😀 Have a great day.
This is obviously a big topic. To be massively brief, the real difference you need to learn is between the major scale and the minor pentatonic scale, and learn which musical situations they each fit into. Minor pentatonic is for rock and blues or even just minor key songs (same as the blues scale) and the major scale is for major key songs. Learn more about this in this video (but you'll have to do more research to full understand this concept) th-cam.com/video/751D2_HLFNU/w-d-xo.html
Andy - I am currently learning this but after a while ( maybe 4 or 5 cycles of the full 12 bars ) my thumb and first finger seems to become really fatigued. I notice in the video you change thumb position on the back of the neck - is this for any particular reason? Also I find if I " bounce " the riff from one finger to the other it seems to help with the fatigue. Is this bad technique?
nice easy lesson but why do you add stuff that is not needed just to show what can be done with these patterns be better if you just taught what you are talking about but good lessons keep it up

I love the decor in his place, those Union Jack pillows really look good and bring out the love for British culture/music

You're the best! I've always heard it pronounced "JOR-juh," not "JOR-jee-uh." The latter adds a little class!
+Jeremy ha that's actually just me being Daft and reading the name, not realising I'm pronouncing it wrong!
It’s pronounced JAW-juh.
Thanks Andy your the best teacher on the tube.
Simple straightforward practical fun beginner lesson lol.. Thank you Andy 🤟👌

So slow it down and it's the Blues.

+Aaron Evans Already done- do a search!

Pretty cool :)
What guitar is that
wow... and people moan that modern music is just 4 chords (when it isn't most of the time now)... what hypocrites
Are you tuned to "
OPEN A"?
He's in standard tuning, low to high. EADGBE.🙂🙂🙂
Moving "down" is always melodicly, not vertically.
what about the turn around ???
Is that a Seymour Duncan SH-6 in the bridge?
+kimkloz SH 1 👍🏻 love it
Love back to the future lol
