I've been waiting so long to play like that. Even though I play the guitar upside down, it's easy for me to understand what your playing. I do thank you for that
I’ve started to play guitar partly because I’ve always wanted to (but never really got around to it) and partly to exercise my arthritic fingers. These exercises are perfect - they are hard and they are a tad painful, but I know that with practice they will get easier, more comfortable and that I will enjoy practising - thank you so much for this video - you have a new (and grateful) subscriber.
Glad to hear it. Thanks for the comment and pleased you're enjoying it. Be extra careful to use good technique, a light touch, and keep relaxed. It's super important. I cover some of this here in case you've not seen this video -th-cam.com/video/g_VshIPV2SU/w-d-xo.html
Nice tutorial. I actually learned something new. Simple but effective! Now just add those type riffs to the 4 and 5 chords and you're in blues heaven! Thank you...
This is an exceptionally good blues tutorial! Very tasty licks clearly explained. Would be very interested in your approach to Hey Joe given that you know Hendrix.
Dan - just found your channel and decided to subscribe and look forward to studying more of your videos. Just one question, though. What strings are you using as they sound lovely and mellow especially the bass strings?
I’d like to see another version of this that’s not so geared to beginners, same info with much less repetition. There’s another channel ( Active Melody) that teaches more intermediate stuff but he repeats what he says so often I don’t watch him anymore. I will give some of these licks a try , l liked the walk up licks.
Good suggestions, thanks. Yeah, an intermediate version of this is something I'll do. (Everyone feel free to let me know if you'd like that - will do it sooner if so). :)
Cheers. Yeah they are very thin so probably not showing on the camera as clearly as the other strings. I couldn't live without the B and high E strings! :)
Good shout...that's what I'd like to see too and maybe some tips on the A and B7 and the turnaround ...give us beginners /intermediates some improvisation tools......good lesson though....one new subscriber here..👆
Turnaround is to turn back to the 1.. I just figured that out of about 6 months ago I've been playing almost 70 years but I'm a drummer so you know.. Alohoho
@@konarain cheers 😂 I do know what a turnaround is I was meaning if the awesome gentleman could also show us some tricks and ways of how to spice up the 4th and 5th chords (A and B7 if playing in E ) and the turnaround...make it pip out rather than being the usual....thanks for replying though...

Thanks, Richard. On this guitar, they are D'addario silk and steel strings. Just got back from Cornwall today funnily enough (Bude). :)
killer man
Thanks :)
Great tips. Easy to follow. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you

Cool video, thx for posting. Looking at your guitar it looks like you’re missing a high e and b. Guess that’s the camera.
Cheers. Yeah they are very thin so probably not showing on the camera as clearly as the other strings. I couldn't live without the B and high E strings! :)
Great🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks 🤗
Yes a really good approach, maybe finalising with all the rheree chords could make it more comprehensive. and attractive for a beginner. Paul,69
Thanks, yeah, will likely put it all together into another video at some point very soon as a full 12 bar blues. Cheers :)
Blues shuffle
Is that an apx 600 2? I have one but it doesn’t have the truss rod cover and the battery is on a diff spot
A Yamaha APX-5A. Great guitar but not the most exciting name! :)
Can you do a full 12 bar with a mix of those?

@@Filmbuf-g2kI may post an answer tomorrow..the answer is yes!
A chord in the 4, then B the 5 chord

Can you give the bar tabs? it’s hard to follow along on this video
Ok the title is a one minute blues shuffle workout but it is a 9 minute and 55 seconds video !! 🎸🎸🎸
Yes, first is the lesson, then if you go to 8:06 it's all put together into a 1-minute workout. Thanks :)
@@DanThorpeGuitar some comments are not worth the effort I guess...thanks for your efforts ❤
I would like to learn turn arounds.
Good stuff, will do a lesson on this soon :)
I will be looking forward to the lessons on turn arounds. Thanks in advance.

Do I notice a bit of a twang there mate? God bless the Black Country.
Ha, yes, indeed it is. I'm guessing you are from these parts or you know it well (not many pick up on the accent :))
