Was wondering why Arctic Monkeys didnt make the list but then I saw that this video was from 2012, before AM came out in 2013, when the Monkeys where still relatively unknown in the US
Thank you 😅
Not a single Quo riff? Missing out there.

Pretty accurate
Greatest comment I’ve ever seen in my life 😂😂😂😂😂
The worst part about it is when you recognize a part and it ends before you can get into it
Watch kfir ochaion guitar covers he's the best guitarist I have seen on TH-cam
That was the best part for me.
@@gerardjackson4104 so I guess you haven't seen Rob Chapman
ZennyBot he had to fit it in one video so you can’t change that
26 was the teaser one for me
I'm very impressed that he managed to play smoke on the water.
😂😂😂😂
My first riff was Wipe Out. I was pleasantly surprised it was included.
The quick-change to Drop D at 6:38 was damn impressive.
More like d sharp.
He would tell you that it was no big deal, just a little inconvenient.
"Oh, you play the guitar? What songs can you play?"
"All of them."

@@JaysBlue notawhoosh, he was saying that the guy's name was alex to inform him
No one can name every song
everyone talking about how good he is at playing the guitar, but nobody talking about how his foot switch skills are off the charts
he probably had one preset for every riff on a multi fx and cycled thorugh - still nicely done though!
@@SamyDeluxeFan1993 There's videos where he teaches some of the riffs, and showcases the pedal board he used. Impressively enough, it really was about his foot switch skill.
Also @7:42 you can notice the moment he switched the fuzz on for the Cliffs of Dover riff.
12 years later and still one of the most satisfying videos on the internet.
The kid in your class that only learns the intro to songs:
So you’re talking about me huh
AmateurCasual Bryan so me
no one said anything about you two dipshits go play your intros somewhere else
AmateurCasual Bryan THATS ME OMG

*I don’t know what more impressive, that he can play all these riffs or he remembered 100 riffs in order for this video*
I was thinking the same thing😂
YEP
I imagine he probably has a word document open on a laptop sitting in front of him telling him which order to play the songs in... that’s just a guess though
The shortest pencil is longer than the longest memory
He has noted everything in a copy that he is looking 😂😂😂
I remember first seeing this video 7 years ago when I started playing electric guitar... Had a massive impact on me.. Great job!!!
Welcome back!
Yes, it also made me want to buy guitars and gear I can’t afford. Thank you, Chicago music exchange!
What is even more impressive is that he changes tuning to drop D on the run. Impressive!!
The most impressive part is that he did this in one continuous take. If he messed up one riff he’d have to restart.
No shit Sherlock.
He did very slightly mess up on thunderstruck but he recovered very quickly
@@fabianreah1708 Nice one, Fabian

Nice
The guitar went outside and smoked a cigarette after this.

Everytime I see it in my recommenders I click
I seen this video first time in 2014 , and ever since...
I must’ve watched this 20 times over the years, used to be great before the ads started interrupting halfway through videos, making TH-cam virtually unwatchable.
@@theauldscientist Here's a trick for you, skip to the end of the video and then replay it. It gets rid of all the ads, or most of them
@@kwiz213 never knew about this lifehack, thx
Knowing that many riffs is one thing. Being able to switch gears and have "the feel" of each come through is quite another. You should most certainly do session work if that sort of thing interests you. Thank you so much for bringing some funky jams to my normally quiet campsite just before dark.
I started playing guitar at 14 when I joined my highschool guitar class, I remember watching this video countless times to the point where I can still remember the exact riffs one after another
It is now 7 years later and I am almost finished with college and am about to pursue my dream of becoming a career pilot, time really does fly, but I will always remember those highschool days of practicing guitar and coming back to this video
Who else comes here, watches the vid, picks out a song. Gos and learns it, then comes back here to pick a new one, over and over again. I’ve watched this vid 15 times to pick out a song so far
THIS IS HOW I STARTED GUITAR

Rebornblader Yea lol, also, 8:48 made me die! Sorry, I just love Rage Against the Machine.
Rebornblader I agree! Because it's very difficult to play 100 different riffs/part of songs in just 12 minutes. And that was great!
Rebornblader people always want a reason to complain :P
Great to see this in my recommendations again after 11 years.
Welcome back!

Am... not really, because some of us may cant tune guitar by ear and they don't know to do that fast, like someone like me :D

Josh McLean This is gospel!

Hey Alex -
I know it’s 10 years later but in case you occasionally check comments:
I particularly like your ordering so that keys make great sense and your interesting transitions when key changes come. Great composition!
The ‘editing,’ that is, where you chose to get into and out of riffs was great, consistently interesting and occasionally surprising. Fun!
Your use of effects was great and your non-Strat tones were very good. Your pickup switching was flawless. I think many beginning and intermediate guitarists don’t spend enough time practicing the tech side of effect/setting/pickup changes. You certainly do.
The added bass notes in Satisfaction were very nice; your SRV tone was great; thanks for picking Thunderstruck instead of legatoing it; the switch to slide in Seven Nations Army was slick. A pleasant time is guaranteed for all.

What no Skrillex? What no Darude? What no Sex Pistols? What no Baauer? What no Lil Wayne? Lil Wayne is the most underrated guitarist in the history of rap. His chops are sick, dexterity is crazy, precision at its finest, perfekt feel. He even cuts down trees for his own guitars and skateboards.
+ He ghostproduced thriller.
+ He organized Woodstock 69
+ He gave birth to Elton John
+ He taught Satriani how to breathe.
So the next time you compile such a list take Wayne into consideration please.
Otherwise awesome playing :)
You are my hero
Your comment wins.
Lil wayne? Obvious Troll is Obvious...
Legendary video!! Still has me coming back, checking it out. And the tone is truely unique in way, but also encapsulates all of the classic vibes. Really impressive considering the drive stage consists of a TubeScreamer and a JHS Foot Fuzz into a low powered tweed. 👍👍👍
Every so often I come back to this video, and realize how much my music taste has grown.
I uh, I can play a d cord
Rattlesnake Zack
I️ can play Em.
got me beat lol. i can do power chords, but no full chords. fat fingers.
Good start
Don't worry, literally all of this should be some of the easiest stuff you could ever play after playing for a few months
Rattlesnake Zack I can play G-D-Em-C
You can’t tell me that’s not the smoothest transition
0:57
nah 3:24-3:26 is the smoothest transition in history
I agree
Just tale a look at megadeth's show at Italy where they did a "medley",see the transition from "the conjuring "to "wake up dead". So flawless

Santan himself is on the dancefloor... What a massive virtuosity, I'm speachless !
The tone is bliss omg.
Me: So what riffs can you play?
Alex: *Yes*
Iron maiden riffs?
Him:
Scorpions riffs?
Him:
Literally.
Yep
3:01 “Tonight, I drive a silent electric car, Hammond uses a fookin toilet and James commits arson”
Tonite on botom geer, James may fucking dies, Hammond buys a diesel vibrator in an attempt to save his marriage
THAT'S WHAT I KNOW IT FROM!
@@noahschmidtberger2692 Hammond, you blithering idiot!
I don't get it
@@tojotaco3822 It's the Top Gear theme
One misses a bit Deep Purple and Pink Floyd on top 100 rock n’ roll list.
Anyway respect to filing this in one take
Absolutely amazing! I love how you got great humbucker level tones from a strat single coil!

cayden mongolo ok thanks! 🙏
This kinda makes me wanna cry. It reminds me of my childhood, playing Rock Band and Guitar Hero.
