The Hound was my favorite character. And as much as I wanted Clegane Bowl to happen, I can’t believe he didn’t cut his losses and just get out of there when it became obvious Gregor couldn’t be killed. To have Sandor realize he’d basically already won because Gregor was just this undead thing would have been better in my eyes. When he and Arya were traveling together it was my favorite part of the show. I wish he’d gone exploring with Arya at the end.
Pretty much the only ending that Sandor could have was that though. To complete overcoming his fear of fire he first saves Arya at Winterfell and then jumps into the blaze in order to completely defeat his brother. Too many characters lived as it is honestly. The whole final season was trash but they at least got this ending right.
I'd hoped that he'd be one of the survivors at the end. The characters with the most good karma/honorability were The Hound and Brienne. I'd hoped they might get together after the fighting was over and start an orphanage or chicken farm or something. I suppose you could put other names on that list : Pod, Ned, etc.

Children would need to learn skills that they might have learned from their parents. Masonry/construction, animal husbandry. The road to recovery would involve getting back to producing enough food to feed the people, and enough people to produce the food. Of course, that's a bit more detail than is needed, but it's hard to quit obsessing about the details. The show tended to draw you in and leave you hungry for more.
It's 3/22/24. I didn't start watching G.O.T. till the 2021 pandemic. I'm just seeing this for the first time. The Hound is on my list of favorite characters. I loved every single thing about this.

Ugh what a dude. He’s so kind, such a genuine soul. I’ve gotten into GoT so late but it’s absolutely better late than never because people like Rory are just incredible and I’d be remised to have skipped past this franchise.

I'm the book he just goes off quietly in the night and we assume he might still be alive somewhere. He is the epitome of the antihero, and you don't get too many great portrayals of that in fiction in my opinion. Tyrion's downfall for me is that he loves outsmarting others but still gets outsmarted in crucial moments. He is a very kind and loveable character, but I hate how everyone is constantly belittling him, (pun intended), and it gets really tiresome after a while. Yes, it is one of the main drives for his character, but he is just not as dynamic for me. I love Arya's story much better. I was her as a child/teenager, and she is written very realistically.
Yours were the scenes I waited for, and loved the story-arcs that focused on the Hound. For me, your character represented reality in all its grittiness.

This. Guy. Fucking. Killed. It. From the first episode to the last, Rory Mcann did an amazing job. The hound is arguably the most subtle, complex character in the entire series and he nailed it.
I think The Hound was the best character on the entire show - he had the best character development and was one of the only ones not to be completely ruined in later seasons. He brought the character to life in a way that made you realise that the hard exterior was a front developed from trauma, but he did actually genuinely care for what was right and wrong deep down. Glad he got the opportunity to really show off what he can do as an actor.
If competent writers were in charge of game of thrones we would be getting behind the scenes clips of season 10 instead of this greatest hits stuff. Also the series would end with season 12 in 2023.

First they didn't ran out of goddamn source material they ran through the first three books on a breakneck pace and they absolutely gutted the fourth and fifth book, if they had just actually adapted the books as they were written the first five books would have been good for six to eight seasons at the least. Secondly George gave them a list of important plot details and revelations, thirdly both experienced as well as inexperienced writers could have done a much better job then the villains Dan and Dave, especially if they had been actual fans of the books. Finally there are such things as logic, natural plot progression, character arcs and a thousand thousand fan theories that would have made for a better ending. Also also, actually actually Dan and Dave had been repeatedly being offered extra money to extent the show, they made the decision to end it in 13 episodes for they wanted to quit it and move on to bigger and better things (star wars). George himself even said to ask Dan and Dave why it was ending for he believes they could have gone to ten seasons or more. Finally they jealously guarded the writing room when HBO suggested they bring other writers on board they promoted their assistants instead. They refused more money to continue, while guarding the writing room and insisting on finishing it themselves. PS: George held their hands for the first four seasons then he left the production of the show entirely. The problem with the show was never that the books weren't finished, from the false start with the failed pilot the problem was always the arrogant incompetent overly privileged trust fund kids (Dan and Dave) who scammed their way into getting GRRM to agree to let them handle the adaptation. Which they could do because Benioff's father was friends with Plepler the then CEO of HBO. Nepotism and Privilege are why they got to do the adaptation of ASOIF and arrogance, hubris and great incompetence is why it failed.

Hound's death hit me most. It became more emotional for me than I thought it would. That too in season 8. Great character acted superbly by Rory.

My favorite character on the show. Tyrion and Arya are great, but The Hound turned out to be my favorite by the end of it all.
More I watch him the more I like him. He is so mean but then you see him be kind and his eyes say it all without saying a word. Great acting!

If competent writers were in charge of game of thrones we would be getting behind the scenes clips of season 10 instead of this greatest hits stuff. Also the series would end with season 12 in 2023.
@@maestercraig3990 if people would stop it with the "they ran out of source material'' bullshit that would really help. First they didn't ran out of goddamn source material they ran through the first three books on a breakneck pace and they absolutely gutted the fourth and fifth book, if they had just actually adapted the books as they were written the first five books would have been good for six to eight seasons at the least. Secondly George gave them a list of important plot details and revelations, thirdly both experienced as well as inexperienced writers could have done a much better job then the villains Dan and Dave, especially if they had been actual fans of the books. Finally there are such things as logic, natural plot progression, character arcs and a thousand thousand fan theories that would have made for a better ending.

Dan and Dave had been repeatedly being offered extra money to extent the show, they made the decision to end it in 13 episodes for they wanted to quit it and move on to bigger and better things (star wars). George himself even said to ask Dan and Dave why it was ending for he believes they could have gone to ten seasons or more. Finally they jealously guarded the writing room when HBO suggested they bring other writers on board they promoted their assistants instead. They refused more money to continue, while guarding the writing room and insisting on finishing it themselves.
PS: George held their hands for the first four seasons then he left the production of the show entirely. The problem with the show was never that the books weren't finished, from the false start with the failed pilot the problem was always the arrogant incompetent overly privileged trust fund kids (Dan and Dave) who scammed their way into getting GRRM to agree to let them handle the adaptation. Which they could do because Benioff's father was friends with Plepler the then CEO of HBO. Nepotism and Privilege are why they got to do the adaptation of ASOIF and arrogance, hubris and great incompetence is why it failed.
