that’s what I do ! Water, sewer, and storm drains ! We have a 35G, SVL 75 Skid steer and a 310 SG back hoe/loader at home lol ! And at work we use the 350 John Deere and a Cat front loader I’m very new to this kind of work but it’s awesome!

Do you recommend a Deere 17G for a small plumbing company? We do plumbing for new homes and dig for sewer lines and expose the city taps to connect into. Taps are typically about 3’-4’ deep

@@ZR1Terror that size machine is probably perfect for that type of work. I’ve found that I lean towards Takeuchi for equipment though.... the hydraulic over hydraulic controls are very smooth on the Takeuchi. The Deere machines are electric over hydraulic which get a little touchy. Everyone claims it’s “operator error” but I genuinely think machines with hydraulic over hydraulic controls are much smoother to operate.

I have a JD 35D and a 329E skid loader. The 35 is pretty smooth but I’ve never run the G model. I saw a vid from another TH-cam guy who said the new 317G skid loaders were super twitchy and jumpy but I haven’t seen anyone else complain. My 329E isn’t too bad, especially in crawl mode where you can slow everything down control wise.

I really like when machines are hydraulic over hydraulic. They seem to be the smoothest to me. Electric over hydraulic usually seems jumpier. I’m not on these every day (yet) I’m sure most people get used to them when they are in the seat everyday. But I also am a carpenter by trade who dabbles in excavation.

IDigIt4 the g is a great machine. It’s what I run at my job. But no matter what the machine a good operator can make anything smooth.

Chad Wow clay it may be small but it’s handy to have around. I’m hoping to buy one in the next couple of years. Until then renting is easiest for me. This one is about 10 minutes from my house. And there’s an identical one with a thumb about 25 minutes from my house. What would you use yours for?

Keep practicing bud. It’s not the machine that’s jumpy it’s you chief.
