Deere 17d building trail - Ripping out stumps and trees

  • We were building an access trail to a pond. Previous beaver dam was broken by a storm. We were going to dig some of the pond out and repair but he built another down stream. Unsure what we're going to do now.

    Not sure if you’ve figured this out yet but it’s much more effective to keep the chainsaw away from the tree until after you have it on the ground. The standing tree gives you a lot more leverage to uproot the stump. Nice little machine, gets a lot of work done!

    Try pushing the tree by driving forward with your boom out straight in front about 8 ft up the tree after digging the roots on 3 sides works awesome

    PD, I am considering making a purchase on a 17G. Are you renting this one or did you purchase it? Anyway I was wondering if you are pleased with this and if you had any issues with it. Thanks, Ken
