As someone who lived through it…. No. It seriously ran its course by 92…. And it continued in the form of derivative garbage like Puddle of Mudd and Silverchair after. I don’t think anyone in Seattle even took the term seriously enough to consider it a legit genre. It was just pure luck PR for Sub Pop that the name stuck and they could spin it to sell records. If you actually listen to the SP catalog, you’ll notice it’s not really genre specific. What year did that Six Finger Satellite record come out? For example.

kurt danielson is a beast on the bass
Tad headlined for Nirvana and Mudhoney in 1989 or maybe 90 on a UK tour. This was the only song of theirs I knew. Awesome concert and Tad stage dived there too, as others have noted he tended to do. Not sure how the floor survived. Great gig and a top night.

I saw Tad and eleven open for Soundgarden back in 94. To be honest hardly any of us knew who Tad and Eleven were but after the show we were fans.

I guess... metallic grunge? Melvins, Sound Garden, Alice in Chains, and now Tad here. Never been much of a grunge person, but when it's heavy and metallic, it just works for me.
Sludge metal has more of that.
That's what "grunge" was. Think about the meaning of the word and the sound of what you're listening to here compared to what was on radio at the time. It's like a badass dirty version of 80's guitar rock. The term grunge was blown outta proportion to package things and sell an identity to kids.

Saw Tad, Eleven, and Soundgarden in '94. It was SG's "Superunknown" tour. Tad was awesome. Me and my bud were trippin balls, and he said, "The guy's name is 'Tad', but he's gotta be like 350 lbs..." We laughed and laughed. But the band sounded great.
I was late to the party. I had to catch the Days I tried To Live tour in Germany after I joined the army. But I did get to see Kyuss & Blind Melon open for them
Random but it cracks me up when certain people want to listen to Chris Cornell after he passed away. They want to listen to him when he was covering artists like Prince. Little did they know about the heaviness of these musical artists from these bands like Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Mudhoney, Melvins...It was amazing.

I know that Tad use to tour with Nirvana. I know that Kurt Cobain use to be a roadie for the Melvins. I love Seattle Grunge. Nice, heavy, dirty and dark. Damn Wood Goblins.

@@MsMiguel70 Thank you ,very kind. I'm using translation too, I hope it doesn't suck. I own almost all of Tad's vinils and I have to say that unfortunately they have been underrated as a band. The evening with Nirvana at Bloom in Italy was beautiful. Doyle felt ill and stopped singing. Kurt was very nice, he used himself on stage and continued the show in place of Tad. I can say that that night I attended a Nirvana concert and a half. Ciaoooo
