  • In this video I go through the most simple upgrade of all! Bed springs! I talk about how to upgrade with a purchased bedspring kit, as well as how to upgrade the cheater way with some extra parts you have lying around your maker space!
Also I go through a real life example of troubleshooting (and overthinking) that all 3D printing enthusiasts can likely relate too!

Before I finished putting my Ender-3 V2 together I installed stiffer springs. The lighter the bed is the less problems on a bedslinger. One of the advantages in the ones that the bed only moves up and down.

Yea lighter bed is better if you can help it. Later I will look into Klipper to help fine tune my bed slinger at higher speeds. I've heard people have good results from this.

I understand you screwed it up to show it better but first thing I did was move the Z-axis switch down so the bed would sit almost on top of the carrier. This compresses the normal springs too and gave me the results I needed without purchasing extra

I decided to go with silicone springs, crank the wheels all the way, then loosen the corners slightly until level.

At 0:45 you're bed is way too high. The springs are almost uncompressed and that makes te bed wobble. Compress the springs all the way and loosen them just a bit so you have like 3mm's of play. Then, lower the Z-switch to that level and if you can't get low enough, cut off the notch on the sensor bracket. Even with the standard springs you will get a very stable bed because of the compression and perfect prints.

yes agreed, the stock springs are okay when properly tightened, unfortunately Creality sends the printers with the stop switch limiter to high, so some people don't realize it can be adjusted as you mentioned.

Why do you still have the zstop if you are using the bltouch? Just redundancy?

Good question, I actually don't use it I just wanted to show how to adjust it for people who don't have a BLTouch. When I first got my ender 3 I struggled with this because I couldn't tighten my bedsprings more without the nozzle being too far from the build plate.
