I had major stomach issues for 28 years, which inadvertently affected other parts of my health. I saw Specialist after Specialist to no avail. I went gluten free, dairy free and sugar free and within 1 week I was cured. I wish Doctors told me this 28 years ago! I’m not saying this will work for everyone, but it most definitely worked for me.

So which one was the culprit, gluten, dairy or sugar? You should have eliminated each one separately. The fast majority of people have no issues with gluten or dairy. Absolutely everyone has issues with sugar. I’m glad you’re doing better, but don’t be to quick to Blane it on gluten until you’ve been medically tested.

I am almost 72 - I stopped eating grains & sugar in Feb 2017, and what I thought was dementia disappeared, dizziness gone, years of insomnia gone, pains in my head gone, horrible depression gone and energy increased so that I go all day long. I feel 10 years younger. How can the naysayers explain what this did for me? I had no expectation of these benefits!

What this documentary doesn't reference is that glyphosate specifically binds to the gluten protein. This is described in plenty of scientific literature. A lot of the negative reactions to gluten are not caused by gluten per se, but by glyphosate.

Yes and apparently the symptoms of glyphosate poisoning are virtually identical to those of celiac. So it might not be the gluten it might be the glyphosate. And it's sprayed on wheat, corn, oats, soybeans and more which means that if it is the glyphosate, merely avoiding wheat is not the answer.

      Great Info …
Stephanie Seneff said two things :
      2. Glyphosate (in everything we eat/drink) uncouples the tight junctions in the gut that protect us from food waste moving through the gut wall.
The uncoupling allows toxins in and is the cause of many illnesses (not least leaky gut)
      2. Glyphosate molecule is similar to that of GLYCINE which is very necessary for our health. This allows the totally toxic Glyphosate to bind to the receptor sites for Glycine - so our health deteriorates.
Authorities claim Glyphosate is harmless ??? Apparently it is used world wide and is poisoning the planet. Research ZACH BUSH -his *Vermont* lecture is a good place to start.

I guess I never knew how it was affecting me until I stopped eating it. Lost weight, feel a LOT better, more energy and better mental clarity (memory). There's definitely something to it. Since then, I've talked to a lot of people who have had similar experiences. I'm pretty skeptical, but this is pretty obvious. Also, you need to follow the money to understand the propaganda. My 10 year battle with palm eczema, cracked and bleeding, was finally healing after 72 hours on a wheat free diet and was completely healed within 30 days. It may not be the gluten but perhaps the glyphosate or other chemicals or additives. Another small patch of eczema on the back of my neck started oozing clear pus and itching within an hour of ordering seasoned french fries at a drive through. Sure enough, I check the ingredients in the seasoning = WHEAT! My body had been crying out to me for years and I just did not understand the language my cells were speaking. I lost 20 pounds in 2 months even though I was consuming more calories than ever, trying to compensate for the calories I knew I was giving up.

This is the first time I came across this Doc and I am not sure that I can confirm everything he says. But I will say this. Until 30 years ago I ate wheat most of my life. In the 1980s I stopped making my own bread and began to eat bread which I bought in stores. Suddenly weight gain began to pile on and my belly grew until it became embarrassing. But the worse part is that my vision began to fail. I can give a long list of side effects. Today if I eat bread from a bakery I get a severe reaction in my stomach as if I am getting a heart attack. However, if we make bread at home using organic wheat, I do not get the heart attack effect. However weight gain still comes on, although at a slower rate and there is nothing you can do to make it go away. When I cut out wheat, I lose weight at a rapid rate. I lost 35 lbs recently and I feel so much better.
My independent test from my own life experience's conclusion, independent of anybody's books, tells me "Eat today's wheat at your own risk".

If I bake my own bread using just 5 ingredients (flour, water, yeast, salt and sugar which can be optional) I have no digestive issues. I personally believe our intolerance to modern wheat products, comes not from the wheat, but from the huge amount of additives put into bread and other wheat baked goods. It should include words you can pronounce, not an entire list of scientific names, many of which are stabilizers and preservatives to make products more shelf stable.

My son suffered from Asthma symptoms since 6mo. We were at the ER every other week, monthly visits to “asthma specialists” and of course no mention of gluten. Someone suggested I cut gluten from his diet for 3 months. I gave it a try and guess what? Not a single asthma crisis. Introduced gluten back and 3 days after a couple of innocent cookies and garlic bread he was wheezing. Tried that out a couple of times and every time he was wheezing after a couple of days. He is not celiac, but I am convinced the gluten causes his asthma symptoms to flare.
I haven’t taken my son to any “specialists” in 3 years. That “allergy specialist” made fun of me when I suggested I was going to cut gluten. Guess he is sad he is not seeing out money any longer.

    • @Tuxedo2680
      @Tuxedo2680 3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

He was kind of the right track.... but not really. Singling out wheat as the main culprit was off the mark and kind of dogmatic. The latest science has found that it's actually carbs that's the culprit. And in that regard, corn, rice and potatoes are even worse than wheat in carb content and glycemic index. Also, not all vegetables are healthy. For example, beans, sweet potatoes, rutabaga, turnips and beets are to be avoided. At the very beginning of this documentary, Davis is having a meal without wheat but he's drinking red wine... Those of us who follow a Keto lifestyle know that alcohol is even worse than wheat.

This is my experience: I suferred from arthritis for 9 years (could not stand fo more than 15mins) and 2 years back the 2nd DMARDs drugs did not work... I was desperate and decided to omit certain foods... I first started with milk, sugar...lastly wheat. For the last 2 years I have been arthritis free(I go for full day hikes!) because I went completely gluten free. Then I tested each food item and whenever I ate wheat, within 1 hr my joint starts to hurt, nose starts getting runny and my voice gets horse ( acid reflux). Then we started to have people who came to Canada saying they were having gut problems when they ate flour in Canada, but not back in their home countries. I'm with you on that. I'm thin healthy and run around the oval. I left the dago diet behind over 15 years ago. I looked at the structure of starch. It's all glucose, all sugar. But bread, rice and pasta does not taste sweet. That's the deception. What's happening is the glucose peak. This was the myth. We don't get an energy lift after sugar intake. We actually get a low. I even fall asleep after coffee and toast. The toast is making me tired. Then hours later comes the energy and the massive hunger cravings. This is the cycle and the 'addiction' people claim they have. Along with the mood swings. I test this out occasionally. I may eat a bowl of pasta once every five years and sure enough, I'm half alive and then moody, stodgy bowel, followed by cravings.
Nothing in this report mentioned the glucose peak. This is the crux of everybody's suffering.

The drop in inflammation in my joints was dramatic, but it took that long. I wasn't even doing it for that reason, I was doing it because I wanted to lose weight. If you don't have celiac disease or any sort of gluten intolerance then it won't make a difference. As someone who studies dietetics you people need to realise that people with real gluten intolerance have their small intestine destroyed by an auto-immune response to gliadin (a part of the gluten protein). It's genetic and a doctor can test you to see if your body is producing these immune bodies in high numbers. People without the genetic mutation have absolutely no problem digesting gluten. Gluten also has no effect on your cholesterol profile or weight gain.

Chronic joint pain that I had had for over 25 years practically disappeared, and low grade depression and brain fog cleared up. I also noticed my acne went away and my gums stopped bleeding. My doctor had no reaction when I told him; he just stared at me like I was speaking Greek. I went back and read Wheat Belly and it all made sense. It sounds like your disappointed because you expected the program to validate your opinions and when it didn't you decided to instead discredit their investigation based on baseless accusations and unfounded conspiracies. You feel personally attacked because this investigation did not confirm your life choice. This sort of close minded position that so easily shuts down opposition without consideration, but with slander, is childish, and quite frankly sad.
Try to be open minded and listen to any evidence put forth. Draw your own conclusions, but base them on the evidence and not on perceived conspiracies or simply because you do not like what you hear.
Am I saying your wrong, no. You may well be right. Am I saying you are opinionated and offer no evidence for your opinions, yes. Declaring unfounded opinions and conspiracies based on suspicion does not help. It only feeds likeminded positions that have no facts behind them and does not help point the discussion in the right direction of scientific knowledge and investigation.

If we'd waited for "definitive proof" that cigarettes were addictive, we couldn't make that claim until the 1980's. Consumers don't need definitive proof. If they want to know if they're addicted, they can just try to quit grains for one month. They can see for themselves whether or not they have overwhelming cravings, dizziness or moodiness, the shakes/jitters, and then a couple weeks later, whether or not they get better sleep, have more energy, etc.. Even if you're right, and not everyone is negatively impacted by wheat, there's no denying that a lot of people are glad they gave it up!

The problem isn't wheat but refined carbohydrates. It the equivalent of replacing cigars with cigarettes because they have a filter, but you're still consuming too much.
Cutting bread only helps if you don't replace it with other carbs. If you replace spaghetti with spaghetti squash, that's a huge savings in carbs and calories. That's what makes the difference. If you're simply consuming gluten free products, you're just switching to cigarettes.
Companies will just create GMO gluten free wheat. Its not going to fix the problem.

I ruled it out at first because I'd never heard of anyone being allergic to bread.. But after finally listening carefully to my body, I can't rule it out any more.. Thank you to The Fifth Estate for presenting both sides in their reports. While there are certainly people who must avoid certain foods or components of food, that doesn't make Wheat a blanket enemy. Wheat is and has been a nutritional necessity for billions of people all over the world. Those in the 1st world countries are discovering themselves having health issues for many reasons, but mostly because of the nutrient deficient, over processed ingredients in our food. Bread as most of us know it is "white bread". It is made with flour that has been stripped of it's nutrition, fiber and almost all of the components that made natural whole grain flour healthy. Some say that it is healthy because the companies put back in some of the stuff that was removed. But they don't return all, and what they do put back in are synthetic because leaving them in or replacing with natural components would make it non shelf stable. Natural wheat flour bread made with whole grain wheat that is not heavily processed is healthy, but does spoil quickly. The natural flour itself is less shelf stable so it must be used more quickly than people will be able to buy it. The dangerous things added to the food items we are eating are sugar, bleach, synthetic chemicals, fillers, preservatives and in some cases, the pesticides used on the grain during the growing process. Eliminating all products from a diet that contain wheat, eliminates all those bad things but is Dr Davis looking at that? His shortsightedness eliminates a lot of healthy nutrition in order to cut out the items that are the real danger. Will people lose weight on a diet without wheat? Of course. Eliminating all foods that contain wheat means cutting out the over processed flour foods that so many are eating like white bread, pasta, cereals, crackers, bakery, cookies, gravies and sauces - all of which contain wheat, but also contain a host of fats, sugars, salt, chemicals and preservatives that are the real culprits.
Look at people who live in areas where pasta is eaten daily and often at every meal. Many live well into their 90s and even beyond 100. How? The pasta is made with hard Durham wheat and not adulterated with nearly as many chemicals as other countries. The wheat itself isn't the problem - it is what happens to the flour during the processing and what is added to the pasta dish after cooking. The rest of their diet consists of low protein (3-6 ounces per day) and a much higher amount of fresh vegetables and fruits than we typically eat at each meal. Dishes are more natural, served with only a drizzle of simple fats or vinegar and oil instead of heavy dressings.
Rice has also become a nutrient deficient item. Stripped of most of it's vitamins and fiber during processing to give us a fluffy, light item to carry a sauce or gravy for flavor. Brown rice is better, by keeping it's fiber and nutrition and it keeps us full longer - allowing our bodies time to process any sugars that are added by consuming fruits, vegetables and sauces that are added to the meal. This helps us avoid the glucose spikes that diabetics often experience.
As our species have explored the glove and discovered new and exciting foods - we want them. But many don't travel well in their natural state so they are harvested before they are ripe or are processed with chemicals to survive the travel. The real health culprits are in those things that our bodies were not designed to eat and the fact that industry has not found a way to keep foods in their natural, intact state long enough to get them from the farms to the table without spoiling. It is cheaper for them to strip the nutrition that allows food to spoil quickly and add in synthetic additives, salts, sugars and preservatives that our bodies can't process.

Funny how you claim that sugar (a 100% carbohydrate) is dangerous, but whole wheat which is also carbohydrate by 75% is nutritious, lol. No, it is not, it's poison by 75%, not to mention the gluten thing in addition.

    • @hwkluth
      @hwkluth ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@leykimayri Sugar and highly processed foods containing little fiber or nutrition are dangerous. Ingesting large amounts of simple carbs will spike glucose levels very quickly for those who are diabetic. Whole grain Durham wheat does have carbohydrates but it also has protein and nutrients that slow it's being absorbed - allowing the body time to handle the more complex carb. As a diabetic, I have studied and experimented with many dishes containing carbs to manage my glucose levels without having to take insulin. It is a matter of moderation and balancing carb and protein intake.
Yes, wheat products do contain gluten and that is a problem for those with gluten intolerance.

Mankind has become so afraid of everything. It has moved from the ridiculous to the sublime. Everything in moderation is the key to a healthy life. Every one of the anti-wheat advocates in this video are profiting from there rhetoric. Gluten free is required for celiacs but not for non-celiacs. Those of us who struggle to get by every single day eat wheat because it’s cheap. That’s where our motivation lies. If I could eat something else, I probably would, but I would still consume wheat based products. The “precautionary principle” is going to destroy our species. How about we all practice a little common sense instead of being so damn gullible. It’s rigoddamndiculous!

@@techluvin7691 haves you learned about or investigated genetically modified organisms/ foods? It is so bad for you. There is evidence that it actually changes DNA. WHY WOULD YOU EAT GMO's when you can eat many of the original strains f wheat?

Jim Riopelle Look at Europe and how they avoid gmos. Their health is far far better than USA. What does it profit if your belly’s full but your falling apart???

Indeed as there is no way to determine how GMO foods will react in our bodies.

Changed my diet to GF before reading Davis’ book but I agree (and experienced) with much of what he wrote. Not for everyone but there’s so much out there that makes us sick. Wheat, milk, sugar, fried foods, red meat... all inflammation inducers. Sugar I would say is the worst culprit. Worse than gluten (except for celiacs of course). Wheat is cheap, manufactured sugar is even cheaper and both permeate much of what’s in the grocery store. We eat like crap in the US... corporations, mainstream doctors, and the government has made it hard to know how not to 😕 Educate yourself, know your choices, and most importantly listen to your body!

Wow. That was painful. Extremely biased and sarcastic. The narrator was clearly not interested in how wheat is hurting people. I loved it how they went to a bread research lab to find out what has changed about wheat. No conflict of interest there! I personally stopped eating bread a few years ago and immediately lost 10kg and my energy levels improved. Now I’m experimenting with the ketogenic diet to take this to the next level.
