My old dad spent most of his working life as a house painter. He’d have called those ‘broadknives.’ I think he’d have admired the oak handle and the reinforced blade on the larger one. Nice work. Happy New Year.

Good job on the restoration. Being a Safety Guy I would suggest safety glasses with that wire wheel. Those things shed wires at high speed and can cause great damage to unprotected eyes. Happy New Year!!

I can't believe that you have SLIPPERY ROCK DAD CUP! I knew you were a fellow Pittburgher, but I've had a SRU Dad cup on my desk for almost ten years, since before my daughter graduated in 2015. I'm an alumnus also. Very nice restorations by the way. Many more years of useful service for both putty knives. -Tom

nice job on the putty knives. I agree that you arrived at a good balance with the blade on the first knife. thin metal reduces your options. as an aside, I have noticed that vintage putty knives have blades with rounded corners. I like this because rounded edges reduce potential for gouging. newer putty knives have sharper, more square corners. your channel is growing, imo, because your projects are within the abilities of many people who don't have access to a lot of expensive tools. at least, that's my case. thanks and happy new year.

Great video! If I may make a suggest wear face protection using your wire and buffing wheel, also dust protection scrapping off the old finish on the handles. You don't want that old stuff in your coffee Mug either.
