They were huge around the Last Command, as big as anyone during them years. It might not have lasted but they did reach a pinnacle that few bands reach. I mean back in the early 80s the only magazine that did not have an issue with Blackie or the whole band on the cover was Rolling Stone, otherwise they were on the cover of every other music and or metal magazine there was back then and there were many. They would also make cameo appearances in a couple b-movies . Don't kid yourselves , they did have a moment.
I just saw the tour in Calgary Alberta! The small venue was electric! To hear the debut album in it’s entirety was fucking amazing. It brought me right back to my 13 year old self in 1984. What a treat.
Just recently did a full discography listen through of wasp and was presently surprised, defiantly very underrated. Unfortunately missing this tour based on where it’s falling in the year and when I can travel back to the states but I’m glad Lawless is seems to be singing again.
@ defiantly the crimson idol, though the debut was a close second . Inside the electric circus was also great. I also love the covers they do, they really make the songs their own.
They have some killer covers for sure… Burn, Saturday Nights Alright For Fighting, I Don’t Need No Doctor… great stuff! Crimson Idol will always be my favorite too! My top 5 changes all the time: 1. Crimson Idol 2. The Headless Children 3. WASP 4. Last Command 5. KFD
For sure! WASP are in my top 5 favorites of all time. The backing tracks were so obvious last time, they literally had the record playing in the background and were constantly out of sync.
Crimson Idol medley would have ruled for sure! Love the Crimson medley from Double Live Assassins. Blackie looks better… he’s able to move around on stage and seems to have lost a bit of weight (probably good for his back).
@TheCDGuyJZ Blackie does look better I think if this tour goes to Europe crimson idol songs Will be on setlist. The festival's they have coming up also. I like the headless medley on this tour. So I was a bit surprised there is no crimson idol songs.
I saw W.A.S.P live back in 1986 in Tulsa OK, they were opening up for KISS . W.A.S.P blew me away they had the crowd eating out of their hands, the people would get so loud cheering for the band that it was hard to hear them sometimes. They help make it the best concert i ever went to and i have been to a lot.🤘🤘🤘🇺🇸
@@TheCDGuyJZhe looks to be moving equally as well and sounding equally as well too when I saw him perform live back in 2010 now that was a good tour just being frankly honest. Might I add it was the best 21st birthday gift given to me from a dear friend because that concert happened a couple days after turning 21 and if I had played smart I should've stuck around with my female friend because she got to meet Blackie Lawless no need to buy backstage pass she managed to meet him by the tour bus I should've stuck around but unfortunately had to leave since it was my friend who was giving me a ride to and from..
Sounds like a killer birthday! He’s definitely moving like he’s 10 years younger… glad to see it, because the shows he did sitting down were tough to watch
I'll have to revisit WASP, it's been a long time since I've listened to any thing by them.... been a LONG time since I heard Love Machine. That thumbnail pic of Blackie Lawless makes him look like a relative of Vinnie Vincent lol
I saw them in Edmonton (WEM) at the mall a number of years ago! In Calgary tonight. Where is the smoke, fire and stage acts!!?, more songs great just video like the last tour.
I was going to ask they are in town in December, but they aren’t selling out at all. It’s pathetic. Then I’m hearing that for the encore they don’t even play the songs in the entirely. I’m passing..
They’re doing two full songs and two medleys in the chorus. They aren’t selling that well… I have a feeling Blackie’s not going to bother with the American market again after this tour.
More miming than live vocals. Ive been listening to wasp for a long time. Seen them live a few times, including as far back as 1986. These vocals are pre recorded, and some are from the actual recording, hes singing very little live. If you can't cut it live, retire.
I agree… if the vocals are fake it’s time to retire. I didn’t get that impression from what I’ve seen online so far, but if he is miming to a tape it should be obvious to see in person. I’m seeing them later this week and will be on high alert.
it grew too finely have a show with no crimson idol tracks... im sick of them, and they are too long . why would you want to sit through great misconceptions of me for 10 minutes, when you could have 3 classic wasp tracks instead? he promised fire and blood again and once again we havent seen it... it doesnt make sense, why promise something TWICE and still not deliver.... also hes changes the vocals to bad for some reason...
The Crimson Idol is my favorite album ever, so I’ll never complain about hearing that stuff in the set. Blackie will always over promise things… the fire isn’t safe in such small venues… he definitely could do the blood…. That would be cool to see again.
@@TheCDGuyJZ fire isnt safe in any Venue, but he still did it.... yeah three idol songs is over half an hour or gig time, im not into that, id rather have 6 tracks he doesnt usually play
Do YOU plan on seeing W.A.S.P. live on this tour? Let me know down below!
Nope.
Nov 29! Looking forward to it. Wasp imo is one of those bands that should’ve been huge!
I wish they were bigger too! One of my all time favorite bands. Have a great time at the show! 🤘

Looking forward to see them soon!
Have a great time! I’m seeing them later this month… can’t wait!
Going to see them next week. Looking forward to it! 🤘🏻
Have a great time! Be sure to report back!

So cool! Glad you had a great time!
Montreal, can't wait 🤘🤘🤘
Have an awesome time!
Hearing TORMENTOR live was the best part of my night in Salt Lake City. Amazing.
One of my favorite WASP songs! Glad you had a great time at the Salt Lake City show!
Just recently did a full discography listen through of wasp and was presently surprised, defiantly very underrated. Unfortunately missing this tour based on where it’s falling in the year and when I can travel back to the states but I’m glad Lawless is seems to be singing again.
Glad you gave their whole catalog a listen! So many great albums! Which record was your favorite?

The way you can tell if any band is using back tracks is if the music sounds perfect or like the record at home
For sure! WASP are in my top 5 favorites of all time.
The backing tracks were so obvious last time, they literally had the record playing in the background and were constantly out of sync.
Seeing them in Charlotte,Nc.bummed unto others isn’t playing but glad to see WASP
Yeah it’s a bummer about Unto Others. At least Armored Saint is on the bill. Have a great time at the NC show!
Love Blackie this tour looks great a crimson idol medley would have been great first time in a long time no crimson idol songs.

Animalize tour! I have family who saw that tour and they said the same thing… WASP were better than KISS on that tour. Wish I could’ve seen it. 🤘
Blackie is looking amd sounding great. Im hoping to go.
I was surprised at how good he sounded. He seems to be moving around on stage well… I guess his back is doing better.

Would highly recommend diving back into WASP. Their 80s stuff is so fun, and the serious 90s stuff is great.
Sunday!! Boise, Idaho!!
Have fun at the show! Report back!
@TheCDGuyJZ
Will do. Finally, after 40 yrs! Once again I hear the most awesome voice in metal!
It was as fucking awesome as I knew it would be! Rock on brother! 🤘

Smoke and fire are a massive liability in a small venue… Blackie probably doesn’t want the hassle. Some version of the stage show would be cool tho
Denver November 5th
Have a great time!
new King Diamond will be out in summer 2025
Yes just read that. Hopefully it doesn't get pushed back again this time.
I wonder what if the tour was named "We Are Sexual Perverts tour" lol. anyway hope to see new W.A.S.P. material.
lol I thought WASP stood for “we ain’t sure, pal!”
Sounds like a 45 min concert.
The band are on stage for like an hour and 20 minutes
I was going to ask they are in town in December, but they aren’t selling out at all. It’s pathetic. Then I’m hearing that for the encore they don’t even play the songs in the entirely. I’m passing..

Sold out show here in Illinois next week .and they added a second show.
Happy to hear that!
From what i`ve seen so far on the live recordings on the ongoing tour is that blind in texas is lip synced and headless,-i think
Yep!
If anything is lip synched it’s going to be very frustrating. I didn’t get that impression, but I hope it’s not the case.

To me not worth it for a one hour concert
It’s a longer than that. Plus Armored Saint is opening. At the very least it’s a fun night out… tickets and merch are too expensive tho
