Its so cool to see you get so excited about 80's music. A lot of people would just laugh and say it's horrible but you are obviously extremely open minded. 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@ripvanwinkle2002 Nice. In fact, it was my first "real" rock concert. I just got into metal and wanted to see a triple feature with Anthrax, Overkill and Agent Steel a few month before, but I was not allowed too, and the show was to far away to sneak out of the house and go there by bike or train. My parents only allowed me to go to see Maiden, because my friends dad agreed to drive us to the venue. And he waited in the parking lot the whole show. Pretty cool move from his part in retrospective, as we where only 14 or 15 back than.
Kids today will never understand the greatness of the decade of decadence.....80s!!!! Seeing bands live that have this energy in their shows and music will never be replicated.
Holmes shaking the guitar 🎸 up high still gives me chilllllsssss so freaking classic hard rock and great reaction young lady keep rocking it was a banger
WASP was a shock rock band think Alice Cooper etc. their concert album “live in the raw” was recorded on the final night of their 1986-87 world tour. I recommend “I wanna be somebody” and “I’m blind in Texas”. Most of the songs they are known for have an impressive amount of cussing.
W.A.S.P. are incredible. Beyond this song they became much deeper and are, by far, musically the best of all of the 80s Sunset Strip bands. And they have never stopped putting out amazing albums.
Still today after all these decades the sound of Blackie's voice is like a voice crying in the wilderness. So much passion and ferocity. I loved WASP from the very beginning!
W.A.S.P. has such a unique sound and have some superb tracks you should check out. 'I wanna be somebody', 'Forever Free', 'Mean Man' or 'the Real Me' are some cracking follow ups to Wild Child for you 👍
I totally forgot about Lawless' sawbladed bracers...lol...this brings back memories of them playing live...opening up for bands like Quiet Riot, Ratt & Motley Crue. 80s tunes Great White : Rock Me Tesla : Modern Day Cowboy Def Leppard : Pyromania Ratt: Round n Round Scorpions : The Zoo Motley Crue : Smoking in the Boys Room Billy Squire : Lonely is The Night Fastway : Say what you Will Quiet Riot : Bang Your Head April Wine : I like to Rock ACDC : Shook Me All Night Kiss : Lick it Up Krokus : Screaming in the Night Accept : Balls to the Wall Montrose : Rock Candy Judias Priest : Got another thing Coming Ozzy Osborne : Flying High Again Molly Hatchet : Dreams I'll Never See Van Hallen : Running with the Devil Warrant : Cherry Pie Poison : Nothin' But a Good Time Whitesnake : Still of the Night Dio : Holy Diver Cinderella : Shake Me Skid Row : 18 and Life Again Faster Pussycat : Slip of the tongue L.A. Guns : Never Enough Kix : Blow My Fuse
Alexi Laiho from Children of Bodom was known as the Wild Child and it is a reference to how this song inspired him growing up to be the rock star he became.
I came of age in 1976 and thought I was locked into 60’s & 70’s rock. It was then that we started hanging out in clubs on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood. Bands I worked for would be playing the same club circuit as Guns N’ Roses, Quiet Riot, and W.A.S.P. just to name a few. At the same time I was gigging on the house crew of a concert hall that catered to New Wave and Punk rock. You sound like an Aussie. We had at least one band from down under and that was a band called Air Supply. They were neither punk or new wave, more like a romantic vibe. Anyway, it’s been nearly fifty years since and I’ve forgotten more than I remember.
Blackie just knew how to deliver a song, man. Notice he's the primarily bass player. Recommendations: "Forever Free" for their almost power ballad. "I Don't Need No Doctor", a great cover song. "Blind In Texas". "Inside the Electric Circus", "I Wanna Be Somebody".
I had never listened to WASP but when i was in high school in the 80s I got RIP, Metal Edge and every other metal magazine every single month. One of those magazines printed lyrics to songs in the back. One month this song was printed and, being a lyricist myself, I loved this song and immediately went to listen to it and other WASP songs.
Underrated is the word that keeps surfacing whenever you see WASP mentioned. Some of their lesser known songs are underrated as well. Honestly these guys were big but they should have been bigger. They really knew how to put on a show too - probably better than anyone but it did get a bit too theatrical with whipping naked ladies, assless chaps and meat and stuff LOL. Try to watch one of their concerts from London. They also hired a new basist after this was made called Johnny Rodd, who was pretty hilarious too. Drinking problems, women problems, artistic differences, politicians and community groups trying to ban their music - this band had it all tugging at the seems though. Be sure to check out some of their other stuff and don't be afraid to go off the beaten path a little. I think some of their "most popular" songs were more about poppy tunes and film clips, but they are the least interesting.
Hi Millie so glad someone has checked out this amazing band I saw them back in 89 on the Headless Children tour at Hammersmith Odean London still have the ticket programme and t-shirt from that tour, anyway in my opinion Blackie Lawless is a very underrated singer/songwriter and doesn't get the recognition he deserves, also this song is from there second album The Last Command, which happens to be the best album they ever released in my humble opinion, and if you do check anymore from this album I'd suggest either Widowmaker or Cries in the Night, but like I said they have many brilliant songs to choose from.
Great song choice. We need more of these 80's bands. Another great song from this band is Inside the Electric Circus. Probably my favorite song from this band. Blackie Lawless had one of the most unique voices from that era. More please.
I saw WASP in a small hall in 1984 where there only about 300 people tops, and they only had their 1st album released. If that weren't enough, there were a couple other bands that played that night too. Armored Saint on their March of the Saint tour, and Metallica on their Ride the Lightning tour (back when they were good). My favorite part of the show was seeing Blackie. He has always been my favorite musician since I discovered the band.
Yes, this was mid 80s. Their first couple of albums were heavy and very good rock and roll. Their first two song Single with Animal (F**k Like A Beast) and Show No Mercy was just raw and insane! This was the best incarnation of WASP with Blackie Lawless on Bass, Randy Piper on lead Guitar, Chris Holmes on Rhythm Guitar, and Steve Riley (or Tony Richards earlier) on Drums. They were never as good after Blackie moved to Rhythm Guitar, Chris moved to Lead Guitar, and Randy was no longer in the band.
W.A.S.P. is amazing and they have a lot of classics from the 80's, but if you really want to take a trip check out their KFD album from the late 90's. I've been a metalhead more than 4 decades and The Horror is probably the darkest song I've ever heard P. S. NSFW warning if you do
Hi Millie,, I seen WASPin 86 open up for KISS attheCow Palace, talk about crazy night..WASP blew KISS off the stage))) I would like to recommend Steel Heart - I'll Never Let You Go...This is from the late 80's or early 90's but this song blows me away with the level of talent))) I'm sure you will enjoyit)0
For more W.A.S.P., try "L.O.V.E.machine" - with the promo video, that's suitably risqué by today's standards 🙂Another 80s heavy party rock banger is "Rock you" by Canadian legends Helix. Or, why not some girl power and try "All we are" by Warlock, fronted by the one and only metal queen herself, Doro Pesch? 🤘All pure 80s magic. There are in fact loads of superb 80s sounding, retro if you will, bands of this sort in our own day and age. Among the best are Sweden's Hardcore Superstar and Sister Sin.
Yes darling it is the 80's, best time to be alive!!! You were still dancing amongst the stars my dear. Had a chance to to see Blackie and the band in 88. It's funny he does not sound anything like his singing. Kind of a deep regular voice but man he can sing. If you want to keep the W.A.S.P. vibe going check out "riding the wind forever free." Beautiful ballad.🤘🌹
Blackie Lawless one of the most under rated writers and singers of the 80's
Lawless is an extremely underrated vocalist. I still have a wasp concert shirt from 1983 or 1984
And an underrated songwriter.
What? He's ever been underestimated
100% agreed.
Up there with the top metal gods 🤘
One song. Sleeping in the fire.
Agree 100%
And he still sounds fantastic at 67 years old.
Yes!
He has been lip syncing for many years. But his lip syncing sounds very good.
He's singing on a backingtrack
@robinasdal9844 videos of most artists are lip syncing & there's a backing tracks. He still had to sing it in the first place.
i was at Tons of rock in Norway this year, WASP sounded fucking amazing
"I wanna be somebody" is another banger from this band!
Its so cool to see you get so excited about 80's music. A lot of people would just laugh and say it's horrible but you are obviously extremely open minded. 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
A lot of people loves 80s classics, in fact , i found my moms cds with judas priest and fall in love from first riffs)))))
Saw W.A.S.P. in 1986 as support for Iron Maiden on the "Somewhere In Time"-Tour. Great show, they definitely delivered.
saw the same show!! 🤘

Waysted opened for them in Madison, WI ... would have rather seen WASP
Check out Manamal next
Blackie Lawlss had an Interview after that. Make or brake, we'll never go back to that.
Kids today will never understand the greatness of the decade of decadence.....80s!!!! Seeing bands live that have this energy in their shows and music will never be replicated.
Holmes shaking the guitar 🎸 up high still gives me chilllllsssss so freaking classic hard rock and great reaction young lady keep rocking it was a banger
been talking to Randy (piper) and chris on Facebook recently

My favorite band in high school. Late 80's.🤘
I WORE OUT my WASP and Maiden cassettes! Good times
Still today after all these decades the sound of Blackie's voice is like a voice crying in the wilderness. So much passion and ferocity. I loved WASP from the very beginning!

Such a cool video!
W.A.S.P. has such a unique sound and have some superb tracks you should check out. 'I wanna be somebody', 'Forever Free', 'Mean Man' or 'the Real Me' are some cracking follow ups to Wild Child for you 👍

Great concert and band.
W.A.S.P. White Anglo-Saxon Protestants- "Love Machine" is a must listen!!!
We ain't sure pal is what blackie says it stands for
Listen to „Sleeping (in the Fire)“.
Im listen to WASP since the 1986-87 World Tour. Underrated since decades.
Alexi Laiho from Children of Bodom was known as the Wild Child and it is a reference to how this song inspired him growing up to be the rock star he became.

One of the best vocalist of al time Blackie is a legend
They have an endless amount of really good ones. Check out "I Wanna Be Somebody"..
yeah, honey, that’s about how we responded to both the song and the choppers. Thank you for enjoying a slice of our generation.
Blackie just knew how to deliver a song, man. Notice he's the primarily bass player.
Recommendations: "Forever Free" for their almost power ballad. "I Don't Need No Doctor", a great cover song. "Blind In Texas". "Inside the Electric Circus", "I Wanna Be Somebody".
he's primarily a guitar player, but played bass out of necessity in these years
R.I.P. Drummer Steve Riley \m/
I love this song!
Millie rocks 🎸 ! 🐝
Lawless one of the best metall singers ever.
His voice is voice of metall for me.
Ande the best ballads ever made
See them twise in Moscow.
Blackie is STOOPID talented...dude can write, produce, engineer, sing, and perform with the best of em.
a friend of mine. she had a photo shoot with them in the 80s for metal hammer magazine.
I had never listened to WASP but when i was in high school in the 80s I got RIP, Metal Edge and every other metal magazine every single month. You need to listen to their song "Animal", "I Want To Be Somebody", & anything from the Crimson Idol album.
There is another version with a longer solo...you would really enjoy it.
W.A.S.P. JUST FLAT OUT ROCK !!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🎸
Blackie Lawless voice and songwriting is so so underrated

They are a really good band, the essence of 80's and not that well known.
Other memorable examples of their songs are Hold On To My Heart, or The Idol
reacting like this on "Wild Child", you'll definitely blow up when listening to "The Idol" by WASP.
i will see WASP in a month, at Sweden Rock Festival. I am super excited!
Blackie Lawless is unforgettable ❤
I think I'm in love here lol.
*MORE* WASP Please ❤😎🤘
That cat is adorable!

You've got to do more W.A.S.P
Listen to Steel Panther's "Death to All But Metal". Parental Advisory though... 😀 If it's too loud, you're too old.
W.A.S.P. is amazing and they have a lot of classics from the 80's, but if you really want to take a trip check out their KFD album from the late 90's. I've been a metalhead more than 4 decades and The Horror is probably the darkest song I've ever heard
