My first conncert was W.A.S.P./KISS at the Meadowlands in Jersey and yeah the crowd was hype as hell when W.A.S.P. came out! One of the most underrated bands from LA in the 80s.

The best band on planet earth i have listen to them since i was very young then they come to sweden , my little brother who dont wasn't little no more had sen artist like maiden and motley crue and he didnt care much for conserts that he been on. but in umea sweden he was shocked cuz he never seen or feel so much emotions in one sitting and yes it was on a sunday =)

Tony Richards had some drug issues and got fired by Blackie Lawless and their manager Rod Smallwood. Didn't want to take him on tour. Replaced him with Steven Riley RIP. Heard an interview with Richards. He told a story about Blackie being a little afraid of him and wanted control. Then guitarist Randy Piper had already left a few times and Blackie probably wanted to put a little fear into him. Tony Richards never got his Golden Records for the first W.A.S.P. album. There's also another interview with Chris Holmes telling about being cheated out of royalties.
You've got to listen to 'The Idol', 'Gilgotha' and 'The Headless Children'. Just a touch of their musical genius. Amber will love The Idol. Incredible guitar solo.

He said that if you didn't see one of these shows you were missing out. Later after the first album was released they started playing bigger venues and along came a lot of restrictions.

Oh Damn!! I love W.A.S.P! When I was 14 my best friend made me a tape with W.A.S.P's "Live....In the Raw!" On one side and Warlock's "Triumph And Agony" on the other. I listened to that tape every single day until it was all warped and couldn't play anymore. So awesome you guys are doing this one!!

As a kid (and still today) I was obsessed with W.A.S.P. since my older brother introduced me to them and I was born in '83. This was the first music video I ever saw on MTV. Chris Holmes is a legendary guitarist and Blackie Lawless is unforgettable. Everything from his style, his love for Texas, and his voice is just unforgettable and unmistakable there was no one that was quite like him in the 80s. Their first album, every song had a great hook. We called them "earworms" because once they eat into your head, they never leave. If you dive deeper into W.A.S.P. just know the name stands for "We Are Sexual Perverts" for a reason they have some real sexually graphic songs and Blackie expresses an interest in the grotesque and macabre things in life like... necrophilia. They do have some great songs though like Wild Child, Manimal, Crimson Idol, Chainsaw Charlie. If you ever get the chance you can check out the film "Ghoulies 2" (you don't need to see the 1st one to follow it) because that will prepare you for my personal favorite video "Scream Until You Like It". I own everything WASP ever put out musically and most merchandise too.
WASP's got some great songs. "Sleeping In The Fire", "Wild Child" and "I Wanna Be Somebody" from this album are both great tracks too. "Heaven's Hung In Black" and "Hold On To My Heart" are also favorites of mine.

W.A.S.P. opened up for RATT in the early '80s.....what a show!😳 I was only 32 but I believe I was the oldest person in the arena!😂 My 22 year old wife said that crowd made her feel old!💯❤️✌️

If you want to be shook/shocked listen to their song " animal " i have met Blackie twice , very intelligent and interesting guy. They still tour and i recommend you see them play.

These guys were the bomb in the mid to late 80’s. Younshould do the title track to their 2nd album - inside the electric circus. The 2nd time I saw them live was in a club setting with Saxon. The reason I mention this is because Saxon blew the main electric breaker in the middle of their set!!! Have ypu done any Saxon? If not I would recommend Dallas 1pm, Strangers in the night, or 747. Keep rockin the 80’s!!!

I saw them in a mid-size club in Connecticut in January 1985. They were opening for Metallica on the Ride The Lightning tour.

Drummer is Steve Reily. He also played for Keel, LA Guns and Steve Reily's LA Guns. Sadly, he passed away this past October.

When I think of this band, I think of them as wild. I heard raw meat used to be tossed into the audience at shows. LOL
They did do that! And Blackie drank "blood" out of a skull! And they had mostly naked girls tied up to stuff on stage. Really wild live shows!!
