Just subbed. I remember those trucks back in the day. They were GMs attempt to compete with the Ford C model cabovers which dominated that market for 4 decades. I was watching this and thinking she'd be a good candidate for a Cummins or Duramax swap. Just a dream, but I'd have left the truck longer than that and put a flatbed on it for hauling a motorcycle, ATV, or golf cart. Then, install a heavy-duty hitch for towing a large RV camper behind it. Of course, she'd need the diesel swap after those mods. She's got RV hauler written all over it.
absolutely LOVE them old GMC's, remember seeing them EVERYWHERE around the Detroit area when i was a kid, GM used them to haul new cars to dealerships. they could turn on a dime and give 9 cents change, EXCELLENT for intercity deliveries!
The Cabover GMC Is turning out to be a phenomenal truck built . ‘The Hulk’ you should call it -. It’s a keeper most definitely. You can pull anything with that truck .
Hey, im here to support the channel, and to win the truck would be a dream. This stuff is right up my alley of interest. Keep up the good work. Thats awesome!
We had a 66 80 series Chevy Cabover grain truck with a 366 big block in my teen years. We dropped a valve hauling 18000 lb of milo to the grain terminal. Watching grey syrup come out of the oil drain was a sick feeling. Dad had the affected cylinder sleeved and got a couple more crops out of it. Thanks for the memories!
I never imagined that color combo, but I think it's great! I can see me driving that around in a tuxedo, keeping the theme in line 👍. Yes, I do like Super Clean! I'm looking forward to another Minnesota trip!!! This is a very exciting project; a lot of people are on the edge of their seats! Thanks Chris!!

I do the cha cha like a sissy girl. Super Clean. Loving the concept for the flat bed. Gonna make someone a great shop truck!! Happy birthday. Does the flatbed surround the gas tank? Wouldn't worry about a stereo. Not gonna be able hear nothing over those stacks behind your head!! Good progress. I got so many projects out in the garage right now. Picking them off one by one. Little by little. Gotta get those done because I'm renovating the kitchen this winter. Be safe and stay well.

The fire dept that i am a member in had 5 Chevy/ GMC cab overs one was a62 GMC with a 409 CID and 5speedtrans with a 2speed axe. the others were 72 Chevy with 427 CID and 6 speed Allison trans. were great rigs.
What is your new wheelbase now? I know that the single axle tractors used to be shorter, but I think the new minimum is 3 meters or 118 inches. When it gets short then it's hard to stop without a load on. The back end will want to lock up and hop when you try to stop fast. Don't try to stop fast in the rain for an amber light or you'll just spin around (kind of embarrassing). It's got air brakes? I hope it has front brakes because some didn't. Are you going to tip the cab for us and let us have a peek?
7 feet. It has regular hydraulic brakes all the way around. I actually have a ton of videos on the build that I’m under the cab but I’d be more than happy to on this weeks episode
I love that it would be a perfect camper puller the color is perfect it tells a story of the history it would be great to just clear coat it do the cho cho like a sissy girl (lol)
