I recognize those roads well. The last section you were on is Bald Rock Trail. Every drive way you past going in takes heating fuels, delivered by tandem trucks all winter. Amazing that people want to live there, but heaven forbid if we spin on the road, or ask to trim the laneway to get service vehicles in and out. Good people at Heideman's mill. Pretty slick job there trucker!
The secret is to keep the momentum going, and the RPM's in the sweet spot. Find the torque curve, and plant yourself in the middle of it. I agree that a straight truck or box truck is the best way to move materials up that road.
My man, I deliver building materials in Northern Ontario all the time, on roads to sites just like this all the time, in a straight truck. You killed that shit in a TT, very impressive. I can attest to how nerve racking it can be, I’ve been in some TIGHT spots. But above and beyond the nerves, these are my favourite deliveries, the more rural and difficult, the more challenging and interesting, beats highway and city driving 100% of the time IMO
Honestly I have so much respect for this guy, he was doing more truck things with that Lexus than 90% of pickup truck owners out there today. Backseat was full of tools, diesel fuel jugs, towing equipment and forklift fork extensions 😮
@@Randomeris1 Not the best no, my cummins can do far more then my toyota hilux is capable of doing, I cant pull my bobcat s300 with my hilux. But Toyota's are fucking awesome none the less.
For the 1st 15 mins I was under the impression that you were bob tailing, as at the beginning I thought you dropped the trailer. It was only after seeing the trailer in the rear view mirror I understand what you are dealing with. One word, Respect. As much as I'm up for a challenge, Im not willing to do it at the cost of damaging my ride.
Hello Matt wow that was very tight thankgod I could smell anything have a safe travels I enjoyed your video thankyou Matt have a good weekend here from Ontario Canada ❤️❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦😎
This reminds me of delivering firewood to my neighbor, broke both my cb Antenas off, that where mounted on my minors on low branches backing down his tight driveway with my ford f600 😆. It was a fun first time. After that I always take them off before heading to his place now.
One Ordeal after another, your not wrong, nothing is easy. What annoys me too is people don't think to much about trucks or drivers and what they have to do everyday and put up with while they all go home.
I’m 99% sure that is a Corle Buildings System building. I work as a driver for that company. We get thrown into these kinds deliveries. Well done. Usually when I hear the we get trucks in here all the time line it’s to try and convince me to do something I know the unit I have can’t 😂
Awesome job dude! but this is certainly a job better suited to an old R-model Mack or a short day cab for sure! maybe something to think about for these more interesting deliveries! Take care
that was fun, thanks for sharing. i thought there's no way a car can help get a truck up a hill. just googling torque figures, it probably added about 10% to your truck. not terrible, but not huge either. I kept thinking of that old video of a motorbike trying to tow a truck broken down in a lane on a highway, the truckie was like "dude, what?" and the rider was like "no worries, I've got nitro" the bike didn't move the truck at all and burned out the clutch in 2 seconds.
This one lane road reminds me of the road that goes up the mountain to my best friend’s house. She keeps telling me that I can totally drive my truck and 48’ flatbed up to her property… I think she trusts me more than I trust me because these narrow roads are a bitch and can be super scary. Plus, the one side of her road way is just a straight drop off the side of the mountain. You are brave for taking on this trail. I’m sure I’d have taken out some trees if I were on this job. Lol. I wonder if this is why logging trucks use the pintle hook on their trailers.
I used to dump the air in my suspension and get considerably more traction, if that didn’t work than I would chain up and that always worked, also I would sometimes back up hills if they were to steep
Kind of? Had injector and injector cup issues. I still have a shake in the driveline somewhere and a very small misfire that might be down into the ecm or tuning or something
Fantastic video and very inspirational. So my question to you is how do you stay so fit when you have to sit down for a living? Do you have some sort of exercise regimen on a daily basis while you're on the road? Or do you just watch what you eat? 😎
Definitely watch what I eat, and try to be as physical as I can in daily life. Ie park at the back of parking lots and walk in, also flatbed work can be a workout sometimes!
Specifically asked to do this delivery….as in locally known as the only one with enough balls to give it a shot. 🤣🤘
Facts!! Shoutout from Atlanta
That turbo sound going up the hill is unbelievable!!!!
Better believe it
No it isn’t
Mans just casually taking a 379 down a rally stage 😂

Wow very cool to hear from someone familiar with the area!!
The coolest vehicle to ever go up that road.
You got BALLS kid they called the right guy have a great day be safe.
Dude that’s awesome, not many can say they’ve had Pete back an atv trail!😂
A lot of log truckers can, they make those trails
I took an ol DM 800 places you wouldn’t think a dirt bike could go hauling coal in SE Ky. It got hairy at times 🐾✌️🇺🇸
I can feel the stress. Great Job!
Bro, I swear I've been looking for a trucker like you for a long time. You're consistent at what you do, and your view is amazing 👏
That was an insane road for a big rig to be driving on! Props to you for getting that delivery done!!
The truck sounds superb
Keep your arms inside the ride at all times kids . What a day , well done Matt !
Bucket with tools and stuff in the passenger seat is very relatable , I have a bin 😂😂
Well that was fun. Thanks for the ride-a-long bud!
Well done, im retired now few years, i have flash backs of dirt tracks and washbouts, pleased to be done with it 😂.
Me to! Glad to be done with that job!!!!!

An epic journey for an 18-speed crash box - real driving from a real driver. Thanks for sharing.
OMG! Snowrunner! Excellent watch

Loss of words the whole time. Extremely impressive! Love the sound of that turbo whistling!

You're a pro bud...nice work...
WOW a snug fit . i knew a nice Peterbuilt and a big as- catpiller would get the job done with you in it. great job.
The day that your truck becomes more than a best friend.
You make one hell of a team, best wishes from the U.K
And The crowd goes wild when the minivan saved the day😊

@@callthemall These Lexuses Toyotas are the very best. Far better than any pickup, unless you need the loading space of course !

All in a day'a work. Whew! A shower overdue by a week! A relief when you finally got out of that hill❤
How to keep your cool is amazing, very professional, if it were me i would be cussing up a blue streak.

I’m 85, 67 years flat, drop deck, conestoga and I get a lot of these, pay is good, feel. Special when asked to do it..
I hope you got paid nicely and enough to get the old girl buffed out!😊
This is reminiscent of my delivery into Chicago the other day. What I mean by that is that I'm getting anxious.
You my friend are The Man!!!!!!
You're an amazing trucker, God bless you and your family
Seen round 1. Don't look too bad. Good traction, only locking up once. These are good experience and make a better driver of you. Sray safe!
Love to watch professionals at work 😎 also could listen to that engine under load for days 😋
You’re insane for going up there in that beast
That was sick! I knew the Lexus would do it
Your truck sounds amazing.
So many people saying "I know a guy" and that guy is you means you're doing everything right.
That was some damn good driving!!!!
Well done, great job👍

cool good job.
Where was this? What a beautiful area! I love this! Sketchy though 😂
This looked easier than the load you took up, had to unhook and some contractors tried to tell you how to do your job.

Get tight and even tighter with traffic, fun huh?
46:15 a little sorcerer haha. 😂 Into the trail 🪄 ..
How come you get all of the good destinations!?! 😵💫

Not no why i love. Watching this but its very cool its like im with you driving feels good admire american trks.
I’ve had to drop the Moffet before to get some weight off but mine loads on the back and lock the axles.

Wernt u suppose to stop when turning on the diff lock
The diff lock in these trucks allow you to engage at any speed, so long as one wheel isn't spinning out
A shorter cabover would've come in pretty handy there i'd say :D
That truck is basically an extension of your body. Matt and his Pete, name a better duo......
What percentage is the grade you’re climbing?
