Currently i have the Sennheiser TW4 and the Audio Technica ATH-TWX9. Hope u can review the Audio Technica coz for me it's a sleek looking earbuds with both touch control and physical buttons (stem design) and sounds amazing making it close enought to the Momentum TW4!! it's an underrated earbuds.
I've been using the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 more than 3 years. The sound is incredible, its big, probably bigger than the 4, also I think the case is bigger too. I actively cycle several times a week, using this earbuds, and I am in favour of the touch controls: over the 3 years I activeted it very few times by mistake. There is a wind noise, but its okay especially with the noise cancellation, also I wear a hat if the weather is very windy. The battery is strange for the True Wireless 2, its starts beeping when its really low, but I can use it for at least for 30 mins. The problem is its gonna beep every 2-3 minutes. However, the battery didn't really drain, only when I forgot to charge its case. I have no doubt that the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 is much better, and that its gonna last as my True Wireless 2.
Thank you Mark! Really want to test the new ones since I've been a fan of Sennheisers Momentum since way back. The only thing that bothers me and hopefully they fix is the durability of the earbuds. They tend to break very fast and sometimes the glue (inside the bud) gets loose which makes static noise over and over again, have happened before with the 2's and the 3's.
I had the momentum 3’s and they started to snap crackle pop after about 5 months of daily use, which is a shame because they’re probably the best sounding earbuds I’ve ever used (apparently that’s not uncommon). Hopefully the 4’s will solve this problem.
I had problems with the 2's and the 3's if the 4's start failing it will be my last Sennheiser pair, I keep coming because when they work they're the best
Hi Mark, I have the Momentum Wireless 4 headphone, amazing sound quality and okay ANC, but the touch control is extremely sensitive. the gentlest sweep can trigger it. How's the sensitivity on the earbuds?
@@hiroshi6421 I think Sennheiser doing it in purpose or something I've owned multiple Sennheiser earbuds especially the momentum true wireless 1,2,3 I also owned CX and CX plus and it's always the left earbud that goes bad I just returned my momentum true wireless 3 few days ago in Amazon which I purchased last year of july good thing Amazon accepted the return even it's been almost a year. I use my earbuds a lot like listening to podcasts at work and using them in the gym and every 10 to 11 months or sometimes after a year the left earbud always goes bad..
Great review, really interested in these as I'm trying to find something to use as wireless IEMs for drum practise, and these support the low latency aptX codec. Very excited until I saw that they too have those sodding round tips- have tried a few different makes, and anything round just doesn't make a good seal, or any seal for that matter. Your ear canal holes are oval, so what the hell are all but Bose, and now Apple still only making round tips with no other options? I have a pair of Bose QC Ultra and they are really good, very comfortable, good sound, and a perfect seal with their oval tips and those Stay-Hear wing things. However, they only support AAC and the older SBC codecs, no good for what I need. 😞
Watching your review I noticed that there is a rubber ribbon wrapping these earbuds, and this should be an important detail for the ear fitting, as they include in the package some spare rubber ribbons as well. As this is a detail that I haven't seen in other earbuds, could you please tell me more about it? Thank you in advance.
I love the idea of that fabric-like case. I have the Bose QuietComfort Ultra earbuds and plastic cases are too slippery. They fall out of pants. I actually keep my earbuds case in an old, bigger Bose QC20 zipped pouch. They don't fall out and are easy to find. On that note, all Bluetooth earbuds should have a Find My Device feature.
Hi Mark. Have you tried pairing them to a Windows laptop? For some reason when I try pair mine to my laptop, they don't show in the bluetooth search. No issues with my iPhone or iPad.
The bluetooth functionality of Windows is really laughably bad. It's a true miracle if you can make any bluetooth connection to a Windows machine work.
I still feel like the MTW2 were the best, i still have them as well as 3. The 2 (and 1 for that matter) just felt more premium. The 3, 4 feel more plasticy, cheaper feeling. And also the connection to the charging case has less contact points on the 3 than 2 and i have had so many problems with one bud not taking a charge versus the 2nd gen and zero problems with that. Im still thinking about picking up the 4 though
Did they fix the BAD Quality Control problem from TW3 battery? I had TW3 and after only 4 months of use the LEFT earbud completely died and stopped taking charge.. It seems like Sennheiser has really bad quality control when it comes to batteries. So any words from them related to the battery vendor for TW4?
