I JUST started running, like not even a month ago, and not gonna lie, I really suck, like I still can't run for longer than 2 minutes, even if I'm barely jogging. However, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! My body craves it, and I'm always so proud of myself for actually putting in the work to become better. Running is kind of the best, even though I completely suck at it, 10/10 recommend for any running skeptics
Same! also, I just find it hard to stick to it because I get bored and I'm naturally an inconsistent person but I'm aiming for at least one run a week 🥹 i wanna be a running girly
@@chiarab9345 that's what I'm aiming for too! At least once a week, for as long as I can survive, if I run more that's great, but low expectations are (my) easiest way to succeed
I'm not sure which country you're from but I use the app running with Evy (Hardlopen met Evy) and it's really nice if you want to begin with running. It has interval sessions and within weeks you can run longer than 10 minutes!
@@violetbery Happy to help, although I'm absolutely no expert. Personally I would start walking long(er) distances before you start running, especially if you aren't used to exercise, and then once 5 miles starts to feel easy start running, just a few minutes at a time in the beginning, just past the point where it starts to get really difficult. And keep doing that a few times a week and over time it'll get easier. That's what I did, and I'm already able to run way longer but I'm still very much a beginner cause it's only been a couple months Take this with a grain of salt, I really don't know what I'm doing, I just figure the more I run the better I'll get

I just feel compelled to say that I have been watching your channel through my recovery and your gentle approach to life and sharing these elements of it as unlike any "influencer" in the most phenomenal and positive way. You're uplifting and share what is necessary, you do not measure things, you do not give us numbers to follow, you do not tell people to do what you do.. you simply offer all 1.23 million subscribers the grace and permission to exist. i feel ya, but something that has helped me is to write down my thoughts and speaking them out loud to myself actually doing my youtube vlogs for my channel they help me heal and i hope they help other heal too
not to get super parasocial but i have anorexia and last week i decided to speak to my GP about gettting me help and trying recovery and I dont think i would have done so if it wasn't for your channel. your videos make me want to fall in love with life again and i feel like there so much more to life than eating and being as small as possible. and there is so much waiting for me beyond this. i want to get joy from exercise again you are so inspiring and have completely shifted my view on my life. and your videos are just so beautiful and cinematic. Every time eating feels too hard to manage, I watch one of your videos. I feel like i've never seen a recovery/wellness youtuber who has truly matched my love and appetite for food, and you make that love for food seem so much less scary than ive managed to convince myself it is, and i realise the fact that something so simple can bring me so much joy is actually so beautiful, and I shouldn't fear that joy. You literally have the healthiest relationship with running (from what I can see) out of anyone I know. As a fellow distance runner, but not marathon distance cuz that's crazyyyyyy, I love watching these videos because they remind me how fun and healthful running can be. I'm so happy to see that your relationship with food, working out, and body image is working for you because running and eating should be fun and not used to look a certain way. As someone who also dealt with under and overeating as a runner it can really make you feel crappy but watching your videos inspires me to keep running and eating to fuel and make me happy. whenever I watch your what I eat videos it always helps me with my relationship with food, I've been going to the gym since January and I started to count calories, think eating anything sweet like chocolate is bad for me etc. But watching you make all these amazing foods make me realise I can eat what I want and what I like. My relationship with food is healthy because of you, thank you so much. Ive seen so much more benefits now in my exercises such as having more energy, feeling stronger and more energised. guys its ok to not like running, Ive tried it and I still hate it, find a form of exercise that works for you xx even if running is the trend at the moment
i felt very similar to the "i used to hate running and now i casually run a half marathon on the weekends" right now but with walking. i've gone from not being able to stand after a 45min walk at 0.6mph to walking 2.4miles in one set in 111mins and then thinking about doing it again in the evening to the point where as soon as i got up this morning i started putting my mind together so that i could do an early morning walk.

Genuinely now, watching your videos has the same effect as listening to white noise to me. I like to watch you while I'm eating dinner, it's almost therapeutic I think? Dude idk, I can't find the right words, but I just feel good! Energized! Warm! Positive! Fuelling ourselves is so important to do, and having you around makes me calm down a little and helps me to be kinder to myself all over again. We have different goals but I like to think that we're like body doubling buddies or something, rooting for each other from afar. Hi Linda! I want to let you know that you have inspired me in so many ways. I've been following you since Covid time, I watched all of your TH-cam videos, and your ups and downs. I don't know how to say thank you to you for shaping me into the person I am now. I feel happy with my body and not obsessed with my weight and calorie intake anymore. I just do what makes me happy and not being flown by everything that is shown in the media about how losing weight is supposed to look like. I lost weight about 40kg+ after a restricted diet in 2020-2021, and I realized that I was not healthy during that time. I used to procrastinate and over-exercise just because I didn't want to gain weight again. But, after I found your channel, I managed to slowly train myself to not be obsessed over calories and weight loss. Now, I am much happier. Hey Linda, I´ve watched your videos for like 4 years now. You´ve been really a comfort person since the beginning, but now, I´ve noticed something different. You´re glowing! Like, absolutely glowing. I don´t know, how you´re doing off camera (but I hope, you´re doing good), but you look amazing. That´s not just about your body (but damn girl, you look like the strongest person), you´re whole appearance is lighted up! You´re smiling a lot, you put that sunscreen on, you like to run, you have a goal with that marathon (btw, I´m also running a marathon in may 2025). You´re determined and sure of what you want (I see that with the effort of research about running, like strength training, electrolytes, etc. you put in). Linda Sun's videos are like a balm to the soul; they're warm and familiar and beautiful, especially while facing unfamiliarity. I recently went to college, and watching Linda Sun's videos when they come out makes me feel at home in this new place in a city where no one I love is nearby.
You explaining how pain used to make me feel like I did well, I relate to that so much. I have been listening to Coach Bennet on runs, and the concept of an “easy run” blew my mind. And starting a run “easy.” It felt counter intuitive. But has helped me not hate running. And to feel proud of myself afterward.
I (24) have always hated running but am a gym lover and recently I’ve been wanting to do more cardio. And honestly, Linda is the best running company, when I see she has a new video out I know I can do that 20-25 mins on the treadmill so easily because she is there with me. So, thank you Linda! ❤🏃🏽♀️

i love all your thoughts and comments about food and life and struggling. you are like the good inner voice which i want to follow but it makes it stronger when i hear it from another person with such a honest and joyful smile. i feel so related to you as a runner, as an introvert, as someone with deep thoughts and desperately looking for the right balance. balance is so important. listen to your body is so important. listen to yourself and your body because you are not only tied together, you are one. and how you said - becoming stronger is my actually goal. it always was. as a child, as growing older - i wanted to become stronger (like my favourites anime characters f.e.). i just kinda forget it because social media overran me. Drowned me. But im a good swimmer. And im a good runner. And if i struggle, then i think about my inner principles which i carry deep inside and i will be faster then my doubts. and when I need help, I'll look at videos like yours or read quotations, everything that makes me remember what my real goal is. and I know the goal is the way. (in german: "der Weg ist das Ziel") there is no goal. the way is to be strong. whatever means strong for you. i dont know why im writing that much. i just wanted to say thank you because im struggling right know and trying to get back, finding my way. feeling a little bit lost. i want to find my balance. and i feel like videos like yours help me and thats why i want to say thank you! and since i love quotes, here one of my favourites from Hayao Miyazaki: "You must see with eyes unclouded by hate. I bought my first pair of running shoes on Friday! I literally ran for 5:45 outside in the heat and thought it was going to be a rough start but I ran 1 mile on Saturday and 2 on Sunday and I downloaded the Nike Run Club app and am going to start on that tomorrow! Never in a million years did i think I would EVER be excited about running. I have despised it my whole life!
Balance is key, and this statement I think is said so often because it’s not always easy to achieve ❤️ I think if it were completely natural and easy for everyone, it wouldn’t be talked about to the extent that it is ❤️ just maybe a comforting reminder that when people talk about something that’s important, doesn’t mean that you must be in the state of mastering it.

i feel ya, but something that has helped me is to write down my thoughts and speaking them out loud to myself actually doing my youtube vlogs for my channel they help me heal and i hope they help other heal too
repeat this to yourself when things get overwhelming: things have a way of working out. because they always do! even if it takes awhile.

As a fellow distance runner, but not marathon distance cuz that's crazyyyyyy, I love watching these videos because they remind me how fun and healthful running can be. I'm so happy to see that your relationship with food, working out, and body image is working for you because running and eating should be fun and not used to look a certain way. As someone who also dealt with under and overeating as a runner it can really make you feel crappy but watching your videos inspires me to keep running and eating to fuel and make me happy. whenever I watch your what I eat videos it always helps me with my relationship with food, I've been going to the gym since January and I started to count calories, think eating anything sweet like chocolate is bad for me etc. But watching you make all these amazing foods make me realise I can eat what I want and what I like. My relationship with food is healthy because of you, thank you so much. Ive seen so much more benefits now in my exercises such as having more energy, feeling stronger and more energised. I honestly can't even put to scale how much you've helped me. Thank you

Yes I can't run I've tried so many times but I love walking fast
i felt very similar to the "i used to hate running and now i casually run a half marathon on the weekends" right now but with walking.
i've gone from not being able to stand after a 45min walk at 0.6mph to walking 2.4miles in one set in 111mins and then thinking about doing it again in the evening to the point where as soon as i got up this morning i started putting my mind together so that i could do an early morning walk.

Genuinely now, watching your videos has the same effect as listening to white noise to me. I like to watch you while I'm eating dinner, it's almost therapeutic I think? Dude idk, I can't find the right words, but I just feel good! Energized! Warm! Positive! Fuelling ourselves is so important to do, and having you around makes me calm down a little and helps me to be kinder to myself all over again. We have different goals but I like to think that we're like body doubling buddies or something, rooting for each other from afar. Hi Linda! I want to let you know that you have inspired me in so many ways. I've been following you since Covid time, I watched all of your TH-cam videos, and your ups and downs. I don't know how to say thank you to you for shaping me into the person I am now. I feel happy with my body and not obsessed with my weight and calorie intake anymore. I just do what makes me happy and not being flown by everything that is shown in the media about how losing weight is supposed to look like. I lost weight about 40kg+ after a restricted diet in 2020-2021, and I realized that I was not healthy during that time. I used to procrastinate and over-exercise just because I didn't want to gain weight again. But, after I found your channel, I managed to slowly train myself to not be obsessed over calories and weight loss. Now, I am much happier. I also feel motivated every time I go to work because I fuel my body with food and exercise in the correct way. Thank you, Linda! Warmest regards from Malaysia!

Hey Linda, I´ve watched your videos for like 4 years now. You´ve been really a comfort person since the beginning, but now, I´ve noticed something different. You´re glowing! Like, absolutely glowing. I don´t know, how you´re doing off camera (but I hope, you´re doing good), but you look amazing. That´s not just about your body (but damn girl, you look like the strongest person), you´re whole appearance is lighted up! You´re smiling a lot, you put that sunscreen on, you like to run, you have a goal with that marathon (btw, I´m also running a marathon in may 2025). You´re determined and sure of what you want (I see that with the effort of research about running, like strength training, electrolytes, etc. you put in). I really liked you in this video, above all, your relationship with food. You´re no longer about diet culture, but fueling you´re body. You always talked about this, but just now, you believe it. i love all your thoughts and comments about food and life and struggling. you are like the good inner voice which i want to follow but it makes it stronger when i hear it from another person with such a honest and joyful smile. i feel so related to you as a runner, as an introvert, as someone with deep thoughts and desperately looking for the right balance.
balance is so important. listen to your body is so important. listen to yourself and your body because you are not only tied together, you are one. and how you said - becoming stronger is my actually goal. it always was. as a child, as growing older - i wanted to become stronger (like my favourites anime characters f.e.). i just kinda forget it because social media overran me. Drowned me. But im a good swimmer. And im a good runner. And if i struggle, then i think about my inner principles which i carry deep inside and i will be faster then my doubts. and when I need help, I'll look at videos like yours or read quotations, everything that makes me remember what my real goal is. and I know the goal is the way. (in german: "der Weg ist das Ziel") there is no goal. the way is to be strong. whatever means strong for you.
i dont know why im writing that much. i just wanted to say thank you because im struggling right know and trying to get back, finding my way. feeling a little bit lost. i want to find my balance. and i feel like videos like yours help me and thats why i want to say thank you!

I bought my first pair of running shoes on Friday! I literally ran for 5:45 outside in the heat and thought it was going to be a rough start but I ran 1 mile on Saturday and 2 on Sunday and I downloaded the Nike Run Club app and am going to start on that tomorrow! Never in a million years did i think I would EVER be excited about running. I have despised it my whole life!
Balance is key, and this statement I think is said so often because it’s not always easy to achieve ❤️ I think if it were completely natural and easy for everyone, it wouldn’t be talked about to the extent that it is ❤️ just maybe a comforting reminder that when people talk about something that’s important, doesn’t mean that you must be in the state of mastering it.
