SITUATION UPDATE! I am a firm believer that the difference between brands, is how they treat their customers, the attitude makes a whole difference. I am glad that Hover is willing and taking the time to hear my side of the story and gathering/asking all the info they need to give an accurate reply, so respect where is due. After going back and forward with the guys from ZeroZeroRobotics, they requested all videos, from the X1 and from my still video, un edited, and I been assured that it will be reviewed thoroughly and unbiased to give me feedback of what happened and then go on from there. Thanks to everyone for the comments, concerns and input, WILL KEEP YOU POSTED, CHEERS
I just went outside in my backyard. Keep in mind, I live way out in the country free from interference. When I first turned the Hover X1 Pro Max on the Omni terrain did not light up in the little window on the drone. It took a good six minutes for it to finally show up. I can see now why you had that mistake and what other people are talking about. Anybody reading this needs to understand that if you’re in an area like you were under no circumstance lot to Drone unless you get that icon lit up
He lied about losing it, check his latest video (if it's still up), he actually went after it right away but lied so he would get a new drone. Now that Hover sent him a new drone he posted the video where he shows he went after it right away, to the forever lost and inaccessible place. Dude is a fraudster!
Ah man, I already have the Neo and I’m waiting for the pro max to come. After this im not sure I’m even going to open the box and try it. One because there is a crappy return policy if opened, and two excuse I don’t want to be a beta test at this price point. Zero zero almost got me to move away from DJI but I just don’t think the Hover is ready for prime time. I had a Skydio too but it too just had too many limitations. It’s too bad too because I want to see competition come for DJI to keep them on their toes.
Hey, thanks for commenting My opinion, is that the X1 is an amazing follow cam, and once they finish fine-tuning the software, it will be amazing. From the images I have seen from the neo, the X1 is leaps ahead, the neo it is more suited if you want a small FPV. Next week I will post my final review and how we solved the problem with my crash, zerozerorobotics was very open cool about it.
Thanks for the additional info. The cons that are hanging me up: 1) spending $1200 on a combo pack and knowing if it doesn’t work out for me it can’t be returned without something like a $450 restocking charge. 2) The Neo has a $20 care refresh plan which is good insurance in case something happens to it. Besides if something does happen to it it’s only $200. The Hoverair is 3x that. So in the end I’d me much more nervous flying the X1 in tight places where I haven’t been able to fly before because I’ve been flying big drones without prop protection. 3) these seem like pretty big software glitches if not simply flew away and crashed or landed. I get that maybe you didn’t choose the multi environment option, but I also don’t really want to have to be thinking to toggle that all the time either, even if that would have solved your problem. 4) the first videos I’ve been seeing shows the video as super blown out for some reason. I’ve been assuming that’s a software glitches, but if not this supposed 8k drone does not seem to be producing that much better video than the Neo. 5) I have the option to fly the Neo with the NC2, giving me a more standard control and a nice big screen. 6) I think (don’t know yet) that the range is much better with the NC2 than the Hoverair with controller. With all that said, I love the beacon. I’ve loved that idea since my Skydio. I really like the added tracking capabilities and the ability to view what’s going on behind me. I love the potential of better video quality. I’m assuming ZeroZero will fix that…but I don’t know for sure. The Hoverair seems to track better than the Neo. I like the X1 pro max accessories and the ability to fold. But the bottom line is, if I can’t even try it without any ability to return it I just don’t want to commit $1200 to the experiment. I’ll probably just settle for the limited Neo. It checks most of the boxes and didn’t break the bank if I break it.
It all comes to budget and wanted use, it is true that the care insurance from dji is an amazing offer. So far I would not use the X1 where I could not retrieve it. The good thing is that the manufacturer has been eager to help
Not doubting you or anything but could you maybe post the unedited footage? The cut and zoom at the crucial time makes it hard to judge what's happened here. Also, for my own future reference, how did you get the video off the lost drone? I presume you got the whole file? Be good to see that too. Does look like a case of omni terrain not being on and the sun making it lose track of you. As for the bird's eye looking out stuff, The drone is an AI drone based on being able to see you, if it can't see you it can't stabilise is my guess. Omni terrain could probably fix this. Like to know how you did it though. I presume by manually changing the gimbal from your phone? Why not just do a manual flight then? Anyways, hope you get sorted. I've not taken mine over a cliff yet but over some very prickly bushes and trees was scary enough.
Hey thanks for your comment. The Omni terrain function comes on by itself very soon once, I guess, the X1 has all software enabled and sensors are working, it is not a problem at all. Also it had no problem at all flying over the cliff. I sent all un edited footage to the manufacturer, as it was the first thing they asked for, after that we went back and forward. I will post the whole thing next week. Cheers
Was thinking about the same... And why didn't he just connect the phone to take control over the drone... and instead just wait for it to land over the cliff... weird
WHY ARE YOU LYING? As we all suspected you got the drone back. In your now posted “recovery” story you say and “show” that you found the battery first - that it had been ejected. WHICH IS IT? You didn’t use WiFi to recover the video from your drone over the cliff!!! You are manufacturing a story to try to gain sympathy and views. This entire video and your comments try to tell a story of a lost drone (look at that empty box! It’s all you have left!), yet now you’ve posted another showing you found it before leaving and editing this one. You even used it to make more video of you walking with your dogs afterwards. SHAMEFUL.

I have the Hoverair X1 which is great, especially when recording audio using your phone. That footage is always great and sound is sync well. I hoped for the same with the X1 Pro but audio using the phone is not exactly in sync. The audio using the beacon (which was the reason I bought the X1 Pro) is not synced at all and you have to do it in post. A lot of software/firmware issues need to be resolved. If they get it to work flawless like the X1 than it is a winner for me. I do hope your issue will be resolved.
Agree, my business instinct tells me they are doing all they can to fix all the kinks and bugs before Christmas 🎁🎄, otherwise the train will leave the station, will see, patience, in the meantime fly in safe zones hahaha 🤣
I bought the Promax Is a few updates in firmware and also in app You have to done with When you receive the drone it's all over the TH-cam videos too , and don't fly it in the windy days, and try the first time You're using the drone, fly it in some type of open clear field for a while till you get hang of it, if it's not get updated few times and is windy.. your drone will automatically land on the ground or not flying right.. this is new drone and get updates constantly probably till end of the year ,comes to software and firmware they have a lots of issues and constantly updating it how long as I know never happened like this to anybody else

Thank you so much for sharing. I’ll be sure to never do that. That looked heartbreaking. I can only imagine. A few years ago I had a brand nee Skydio 2+ Drone that landed in the Detroit river. Thank God Skydio ended up reimbursing me 100% of the money because they downloaded the log and were able to determine it was not my fault. I know how you feel it’ll ruin your day.
Thank you! I'm glad to hear they did helped you. My next video is about the talks I had with the manufacturer and so on, hopefully you come and watch it. Cheers
Question as I don't have mine yet. Did you wait for the Omni Terrain Icon to turn on? You are in a very dark area compared to where the drone was circling from very bright to very dark where you were standing in the shadows. I ask, because this is exactly how I lost my Hover X1 to the sea gods. The Hover Pro/Pro Max has not upgraded the front camera sensors which is why they state in the fb group to first wait for the Ominterrain icon to turn on. You see...It's really NOT Omniterrain or a secret formula for it to track you in dark areas, rather it is a GNSS drone and they want you to wait for the OmniTerrain Icon to turn on, because that is when there will be enough Satellites to lock your position. That is why it takes up to 3 minutes with the drone in the same location, it needs to lock in enough satellites. So if you fly without the satelilite positioning, it will lose you every time when transitioning from light to dark areas, and of course cliffs. You Hover was literally in the worst possible conditions without GPS lock. Still sucks, and I feel your pain. ps...if OmniTerain was on, then Hover Air 100 percent owes you a new drone IMO
Thanks for commenting, Omni terrain was on, I think, just a guess looking at the footage, it gets in trouble when the sun hits directly into the sensor, to be honest, I'm more interested in what @zerozerorobotics has to say/add/teach so this doesn't happen too often to other users, cheers
The original x1 was a bit hit and miss also sometimes. I just attached a GPS tracker to it, it's pretty easy to find then. For a drone that expensive I would have climbed down that cliff or ask a rock climbing friend to get it.
He lied about losing it, check his latest video (if it's still up), he actually went after it right away but lied so he would get a new drone. Now that Hover sent him a new drone he posted the video where he shows he went after it right away, to the "extremely difficult and damn near impossible" place. Dude is a fraudster!
Yes I have, it is what it is more relevant to me, as you can see, I am very respectful and open minded about a solution and also having their feedback from the situation, thanks 👍
Great questions, standing on a cliff edge with my dogs I rather not be staring at a smart phone and let the drone work as it is supposed to work without me overtaking some maneuver that is extremely simple and should be able to handle when Omni terrain is on, also battery was about 60%, of I paid for some features, the product has to deliver those features, it would be a totally different thing if I was pushing it beyond it's advertised capabilities or intended use. Thanks for caring
LATER EDIT: regarding the video published 2 weeks after this one... He actually acknowledges that he went after it right away after the "crash", in this video he kept saying he lost it forever in an unreachable place. What a liar! So now after Hover confirmed they will send him a new drone, he released the other video where he shows that he went after it. It was clear anyway by his clothes too, he is wearing the same things in both videos. He actually went back now to retrieve the drone from the "forever lost place", but faked the video so Hover would send him a new one. After he received the confirmation from Hover, he published the new video where he showed going after it right after the supposed crash. This person is a FRAUDSTER and should be reported to authorities! And he also thinks all his subscribers are duuumb people that will believe his fake videos. Based on your previous video you didn't even check the tutorials about the device and just guessed how things should work... If the drone crashed, how did you get the footage from it? When you saw it's not coming back to you why didn't you take over it with your phone instead of waiting for it to land? Also, why do you want them to reach out to you? What if they never see your video? You should contact them and send your logs too, I guess you have those too if you have the footage, right? And for goodness sake, it's not "Hooover" like the vacuum cleaner, it's "Hover".
Based on my previous video your comment would be on point, since it is not my previous video, and now as I mentioned on the current video, I did read the owners manual, watched the tutorials and so on, so thanks for commenting on this video with comments valid for the previous, not this one...
Did my previous video influenced on how terrible the "birds eye" video looks on this one? Please elaborate? Hahaha I'm just poking you, thanks for posting,. maybe next time is more helpful, cheers
The manual and tutorials are pretty worthless. On the website, most of the information is for the old x1. Apparently they have more information listed on their Facebook page. How are people supposed to know this? It clear this product was released prematurely.
Did You EXPLICITLY TURN ON "all terrain" setting. Without "all terrain" setting ON, the drone will get lost by all means at the edge of a steep cliff and over water ! !
What are you talking about, "OmniTerrain", i.e. GPS, is on by default, it cannot be turned on or off. You just need to wait at least 30 seconds for it to become active.
Omni terrain was active, the drone has no problem flying over the cliff, the problem was going back to LZ , it hovered many seconds over the cliff without problems, clearly Omni terrain is not issue
It's so funny the Indigogo supporters always do this just to save a little bit of money, then the very first ones get the drones through customs only for others get stopped and end up paying $100s in duty and taxes! And just like this guy, zero after sales support! No retailer support, the dam drone does not even come with any spare props! With some already breaking props, making the drone unusable until they somehow beg Zero Zero Robotics to post spares!
He lied about losing it, check his latest video (if it's still up), he actually went after it right away but lied so he would get a new drone. Now that Hover sent him a new drone he posted the video where he shows he went after it right away, to the forever lost and inaccessible place...what a fraudster!
I stretched my hand when it was hovering in a safe place after completing the 360° orbit, after doing so, it repositioned itself out of the take off/ landing zone, it is very clear on the video. After that, when it was hovering in the cliff zone, I attempted stretching my hand a few times hoping it would come back, if you look carefully, it drops off when I stop looking at it, when I take a glimpse to see where the dogs are. I appreciate your post, but it would be amazing is @zerozerorobotics #zerozerorobotics give us their opinion, so we all can hear them and make our own informed opinions after that, cheers
Dam Neo will automatically return to the launch position, then just put hand out, and it lands. Odd the Hoverair does not do the same. Still, I am not sure most drones without the controller or GPS work well off cliffs, I would still use my Neo with the controller and use GPS active track.
@@mtbmonk7076 As far as I know we backers are not beta testers, they gave drones to them to test and look at the results. I enjoyed my X1 but am afraid to use the pro whicj I receive today :(
That's what I noticed as well. It felt to me that the gesture he made caused the drone to stop moving it and got confused and changed direction. The drones normally return to their initial position so it should have stopped in front of him. Hope zero zero robotics give him a new drone.
Yup... he lied about losing it on purpose, check his latest video (if it's still up), he actually went after it right away but lied so he would get a new drone. Now that Hover sent him a new drone he posted the video where he shows he went after it right away, to the "extremely difficult and damn near impossible" place. Dude is a fraudster!
The “X” in “X1 Pro Max” stands for [e]Xperimental [in Beta versión] 1 [to the utmost level.] I was considering this drone for a first person shooting documentary, but I prefer to go with an already tested DJI mini 4 pro… -MUCH BETTER…!!!
Hey, thanks for commenting They are different animals, they both serve a purpose, but differ on how they work/approach that purpose. I'm sure once the software/firmware kinks are solved, it will be a great value for what it is intended
This is very very disturbing, I'll feel pity for you and hope they'll solve this in an good way. I receive my Pro today but will be carefull how to fly it. Take care and fingers crossed man
well I fully understand, as I just got mine the beacon is so buggy and very unstable. I will never take it out with beacon and joystick it is not a ready to sell product.
Shouldn't have happened but when you saw it wasn't coming back you should have taken your phone out in a hurry to try to connect and steer it back, you had the time to do it, 30 seconds actually.
I know what you mean, but no, the drone has the capacity to fly itself, it's one of the main selling points of the X1 pro, so what you say is accurate but also the drone failed. Will post the whole thing next week, cheers
Honestly I would have more sympathy if you showed us that Omni-terrain was active and this happened anyways. Right now it just looks like a skill issue.
@MyOtherChannel-q9f there is a symbol/icon that pops up on the screen of the Hover that shows Omni Terrain is actually active, Otherwise it is not. But he's saying that perhaps you could have shown that via your other camera prior to take off, albeit not necessarily realistic to have done so. I have no clue whether it was on or not but seems that its possible that the icon never popped up before it took off. IJS....but I have the ProMax as well & after testing it, sometimes it takes longer for the omniterrain icon to pop up showing thats its actually active.
Dude, this thing was a straight up piece of crap I asked him to add an Omni terrain button to be left on or off And a button to disable three seconds to pause recording However, now all the videos are glitched, and I can’t even use this drone. This was literally by definition a waste of money.
@@MyOtherChannel-q9f support or the Instagram. Now the videos freeze, I searched online and found a video saying lower the video codec to H264 vs 265 but I was already on 265, not sure if the app updated or changed since reports, there was clearly a glitch in the new update if I found mention of it and the firmware he said was the same Thank you though, glad to find your channel, I recommend a DJI Pocket 2-3 to go with this!!!
Okay,Now you found it and you should sent the crash one back to ZZR,That's how you suposse to do. So ZZR can analytics that your drone and know what happend with the crash. ZZR has to right to asking you sent it back.if you post the video you should know and do it.I beleive if you sent it back to ZZR they will cover the shipping fee.just Like you said that not cheap equipment.
He lied about losing it, in this video, he already had it retrieved... he just acted like it was lost so Hover would send him a new unit. In his latest video, he shows that he went after it right away he let it land on purpose over the cliff. This is obvious anyway as he is wearing the same thing as in the first video (same t-shirt, same jacket, same mic in the same position, same lanyard). But he lied so he would get a new drone. Now that Hover sent him a new drone he posted the fake video where he supposedly found it but it was actually right after the event happened. He played himself with his own videos several times, he's such a bad liar... and a fraudster!!! In this video and in the comments, he said he downloaded the footage via Wifi, and in the new video where he acts as if he found it (btw really bad acting), the battery was separate from the drone... he played himself so many times with so many lies. It's extraordinary what some people can do for a few views...

@@MyOtherChannel-q9f they owe you another drone my friend. You used it as directed
It's an AUTONOMOUS drone run by AI does not need satellite to contact like other drones@@gregb1599
@scottgivens27 hey, thanks for posting, it has been solved, this Sunday you can see the whole story in the new video, cheers
The original x1 was a bit hit and miss also sometimes. I just attached a GPS tracker to it, it's pretty easy to find then. For a drone that expensive I would have climbed down that cliff or ask a rock climbing friend to get it.
Hey, great thinking,.I might have done just that... Will see how the cookie crumbles 🧐😉
Not lost. Just EXTREMELY dificult and damn there impossible to retrieve.
Hard yet not impossible 🤘
He lied about losing it, check his latest video (if it's still up), he actually went after it right away but lied so he would get a new drone.
Now that Hover sent him a new drone he posted the video where he shows he went after it right away, to the "extremely difficult and damn near impossible" place.
Dude is a fraudster!
What I noticed is the Hover doesn't like the sun very much and starts to act funky while facing it.
That's some good point of view, let's see how it goes with other users, I think yesterday or today they have released a new update
Cheers
I have also noticed it depends on the color of my jacket...
I am same situation. For past 2 weeks since I received it’s just grounded. Seems like only the paid beta testers are the only happy users
How did you export the video if the drone is lost?
🛜
the footage we're seeing is from his tri-pod camera; not the drone ;-)
@@conniedebeer8058 I'm talking about the footage when it was in the air. It's in the video mixed with tripod footage.
Also from the drone, i did recovered it, but before posting I wanted to hear the manufacturers opinninion and solution, and they where very helpful
Have you contacted their support?
#zerozerorobotics #hoverair please give your point of view!
That would be great, to have an insightful opinion @zerozerorobotics
Did You EXPLICITLY TURN ON "all terrain" setting. Without "all terrain" setting ON, the drone will get lost by all means at the edge of a steep cliff and over water ! !
What are you talking about, "OmniTerrain", i.e. GPS, is on by default, it cannot be turned on or off. You just need to wait at least 30 seconds for it to become active.
Omni terrain was active, the drone has no problem flying over the cliff, the problem was going back to LZ , it hovered many seconds over the cliff without problems, clearly Omni terrain is not issue
I'll let all your first buyers work out the major bugs. That's why I am waiting till its sold at the Zon before I get mine.
Very good idea
It's so funny the Indigogo supporters always do this just to save a little bit of money, then the very first ones get the drones through customs only for others get stopped and end up paying $100s in duty and taxes! And just like this guy, zero after sales support! No retailer support, the dam drone does not even come with any spare props! With some already breaking props, making the drone unusable until they somehow beg Zero Zero Robotics to post spares!
Did Hover ever reach back out to you? Hopefully, they helped you out!
Yes they did, its all good, video up this Sunday 😉
He lied about losing it, check his latest video (if it's still up), he actually went after it right away but lied so he would get a new drone. Now that Hover sent him a new drone he posted the video where he shows he went after it right away, to the forever lost and inaccessible place...what a fraudster!
You stretched out your hand too early and made a gesture. It thought you were telling it to land.
It’s funny, mine doesn’t respond to gestures half the time. It’s a shame that paying customers are being used as unwitting beta testers.
Fake Fake Fake - How would you have the video from the Hover. Sound is all wrong for its distance.
Sound is coming from the mic I have on my chest, not from the camera...
@@MyOtherChannel-q9f Exactly. Yet the volume of the Hover doesnt change as it gets further away. Well done on the editing yet not real enough.
Yup... he lied about losing it on purpose, check his latest video (if it's still up), he actually went after it right away but lied so he would get a new drone.
Now that Hover sent him a new drone he posted the video where he shows he went after it right away, to the "extremely difficult and damn near impossible" place.
Dude is a fraudster!
The “X” in “X1 Pro Max” stands for [e]Xperimental [in Beta versión] 1 [to the utmost level.]
I was considering this drone for a first person shooting documentary, but I prefer to go with an already tested DJI mini 4 pro… -MUCH BETTER…!!!
Hey, thanks for commenting
They are different animals, they both serve a purpose, but differ on how they work/approach that purpose. I'm sure once the software/firmware kinks are solved, it will be a great value for what it is intended
This is very very disturbing, I'll feel pity for you and hope they'll solve this in an good way. I receive my Pro today but will be carefull how to fly it. Take care and fingers crossed man
Sad story... you can check a similar drone, from a trusted drone company: DJI, de model DJI Neo, similar features, and a lot more for 199€
True, I wanted a bit better image and gimbal quality... thanks mate
@@MyOtherChannel-q9fAnd yet you said the X1 footage was unusable?!
well I fully understand, as I just got mine the beacon is so buggy and very unstable. I will never take it out with beacon and joystick it is not a ready to sell product.
Hi, thanks for posting
As I said, I think the product has great potential but they have to work out all the flaws in the software
@@MyOtherChannel-q9f Just curious why don't you test it first in simple flat area instead of a cliff?
Shouldn't have happened but when you saw it wasn't coming back you should have taken your phone out in a hurry to try to connect and steer it back, you had the time to do it, 30 seconds actually.
I know what you mean, but no, the drone has the capacity to fly itself, it's one of the main selling points of the X1 pro, so what you say is accurate but also the drone failed.
Will post the whole thing next week, cheers
Honestly I would have more sympathy if you showed us that Omni-terrain was active and this happened anyways. Right now it just looks like a skill issue.
How do I show you that it was active? 🤔🧐
Not that I have to, but I'm just curious on your though process
@MyOtherChannel-q9f there is a symbol/icon that pops up on the screen of the Hover that shows Omni Terrain is actually active, Otherwise it is not. But he's saying that perhaps you could have shown that via your other camera prior to take off, albeit not necessarily realistic to have done so. I have no clue whether it was on or not but seems that its possible that the icon never popped up before it took off. IJS....but I have the ProMax as well & after testing it, sometimes it takes longer for the omniterrain icon to pop up showing thats its actually active.
Dude, this thing was a straight up piece of crap
I asked him to add an Omni terrain button to be left on or off
And a button to disable three seconds to pause recording
However, now all the videos are glitched, and I can’t even use this drone. This was literally by definition a waste of money.
Hi, you say "I asked him". You asked whom? i don't understand your comment
saludos
@@MyOtherChannel-q9f support or the Instagram. Now the videos freeze, I searched online and found a video saying lower the video codec to H264 vs 265 but I was already on 265, not sure if the app updated or changed since reports, there was clearly a glitch in the new update if I found mention of it and the firmware he said was the same
Thank you though, glad to find your channel, I recommend a DJI Pocket 2-3 to go with this!!!
I can’t trust mine either.
Awww man, what a pisser!!! 😞
