    Excellent video tutorial. This is how a great tutorial is done. 8 minutes total. Direct to main the points and how you might use them. 5 stars.

    Very helpful. 8 minute intro to Inkscape. Essentially all you need to know about the tools and the tools are 80% of it. Thanks!

    I've been watching a lot of Inkscape tutorials and this has been one of the most helpful so far. Good speed--if I missed something, I can go back and review what I didn't catch the first time.

    Awesome tutorial for the basics! Quick and straight to the point, usually I'm the one saying "blah blah" and skipping forward through someone talking about how their life is going haha

    Nice paced helpful video. Improvements:
    1: Stop repeatedly saying the totally unneccessary phrase 'go ahead and',
    2: 'Not very useful' -> 'I have not yet worked out what this might be useful for',
    3: 'All you need'... -> 'The key features I have learnt and found useful'.

    shmoggo...
    It's easy to see that you're very familiar with the tools. I'm not. I'm having great difficulty following your cursor while you're speaking. Can you [next time] say something like "The first tool I'm going to dicuss is the "select tool..." then move your cursor at a speed that we can follow where you're taking us?
    many thanks!

    Hey can you help me? Im trying to edit a imported PNG image in Inkscape so I can remove a specific part of it and insert a different image into the file. I've tried to ungroup the entire image so I can select the certain parts I want gone but Inkscape keeps telling me "No groups to ungroup in the selection".Plz help I'm trying to avoid paying someone to do it

    • @raggmopp857
      @raggmopp857 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can't ungroup a PNG image. SVG is the vector based file you need. You may have to resort to tracing your PNG file. Maybe someone knows of a way to convert PNG to SVG.

    I would be interested in combining the font tool and the shape or circle tool. I'd like to attach my words on a circle or square.

    • @benjaminfailor5604
      @benjaminfailor5604 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Go to Inkscape. Create object. Go to Path > object to path. Create text. Holding down Shift key, select both the text and the path (your circle etc.), then go to Text > Flow into frame. The text will be inside the object, and will conform to it.

    • @starhopper4587

      Photoshop might be better for that

    • @mwarnken1234
      @mwarnken1234 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      indeed

    • @raggmopp857
      @raggmopp857 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes you don't need to erase. Keep your images on separate layers. Then you can adjust the transparency on the image that you choose to put in front. If you make it 0% transparency, then the images in the back will only show outside the one in front. This works even if you have no color in the front object. You might have to watch another video to figure this out, but it's very easy once you know where to find transparency and layers on Inkscape.

    Well Lester, I was being a bit sarcastic in my response. But, it is a commonly known term in design, not just in software, so I was surprised to hear his pronunciation. Matter of fact, this is the first time I've ever hear anyone pronounce it that way.
    But like I began my comment, it was a great video, pronunciation not withstanding.
