The Timekettle T1 Mini is a great little device! It’s easy to use and gives accurate translations quickly. Perfect for traveling or talking to people who speak a different language. The sound is clear, and it works really well. I’m happy with it and recommend it to others. 👍
@ come on man … no need to oversell… millions use app translator and doing just fine for everyday life … when you oversell you hurt the long term trust you built … take it as criticism from someone that loves your channel … I live in China… travel all over Asia , I use translator apps on iPhone for a decade in so many languages there is zero need to spend money and carry another device … sorry that’s reality for everyday life
Thanks Kevin and puuk , I ve already bought one after my trip to hua hin in july , but id never actually got it out of the box to see how it works , so now I feel very confident of using it and enabling more contact with thai people , and have a laugh with them too along the way , cheers
I bought one for my last Thailand trip but found that I always had my cell phone near me so I used it and Google Translate that works great. The Timekettle was a bit slow when I was using it though.
Thanks for the video. I like the T1 mini due to its ease of use and cost compared to a phone that runs Google Translate. I was here for 3 months from April until July. I dropped my $1000 phone many times. I decided to buy the T1 mini and forego my phone. I purchased it through Lazada on my first trip. The price on Lazada varies from 5100 baht to 6900 baht. Roughly $150 to $200. The best investment I made while in Thailand. I very rarely use Google Translate other than translating pictures or screenshots. I do find the T1 mini fairly accurate. It does have some issues with Issan and other dialects. I purchased a second T1 mini when I returned to America in July. I am now back in Thailand with 2 T1 mini's and their new W4. The T1 minis get used regularly with some issues which are soon corrected with a change of words used. Is it perfect? No. Has it made my life easier moving and living in Thailand? Definitely. Plus, I don't have to worry about a big loss if I drop it compared to my phone. All in all, I love my T1 minis and so do many Thais and foreigners I come in contact with.
After 12 months what are the ongoing Fees,? Most Translators are not cheap then Fees after 12 months adds up, i read there some good Android Translators for Phones but again not sure of the fees etc. i found Google Translate to be poor when doing English to Thai, personal opinion.
Pook and I are often laughing at the Google translations Steve. Not sure about the ongoing data cost, but thinking about it, you can always use your phones hotspot and connect wirelessly 🤷♂🤷♂
Question, will this thing translate "issan" dialect? Or only central Thai ? , come to that will it translate northern and southern dialect? I live in burriram and everyone speaks issan and or korat or a mix of both . Will this gadget translate all ?
App on your phone is accurate enough for all usage that you need, millions use it with ease every single day, NO NEED to spend extra money for another device. For those of you living in Thailand full time, my advice as expat that lived in China for a decade, learn the language, it is absolutely stupid to live in a country and not speak the local language, read and write if you can, don't assume that because you are old, or it is hard in the beginning, ot that you have no talent, you can not do it, I did it and I have zero talent, I speak fluent mandarin, read and write, go to school every day for six months to a year, just put in the time, you will meet new friends, get the absolute basic in school, then put effort, keep learning, alone, apps etc... speak to people and you will get there, you will be good enough and the joy you will get out of the country is 10x ... yes you can survive with English, friends and apps ..but it is another level of experience when you can speak to people.. Just do it... you have time , all of you do... go get some

Thanks for sharing your experience 👍
So many translation apps, really no need to carry another device, and they are all good for everyday life
I can see that but so many have problems with accuracy

Awesome product there Kevin & Pooky! Should get this for Colin😉 Thanks for sharing guys 😊
Works really well Marietta, plus you can use it in reverse and check your own pronunciation of Thai words... I need to do a lot more work on that 😂

Great little device Stephen, sure you'll enjoy using it.

Can be, but found the T1 to be more accurate
Just about all modern mobile phones do exactly the same with Google translator for free 😊
We found Google not to be as accurate though
Great video. Well done. Have to invest in one but you never gave the price.
Use the links above to check out the price and you'll get a 10% discount Patrick
Looks good 👍
It really is!
You can learn basic phrases. That is part of living in another country. You are NEVER too old to learn
Working on it Dave, but often testing myself with the translator 👍
Hi there
Wouldnt google translate be just as good, and its free ?
Not as accurate. Pook and I are often laughing at the Google translations 😄
@@TheIsaanFarang Good to know, thanks
Looks great. As you know tek stuff isn't my bag so what's the difference between it and Google translate
