They put a call out on social media about a month before this video came out for their fans to come to the casting call dressed up as someone or something to do with The Warning. Wearing anything the band has worn throughout the years. There's a lot of easter eggs for fans in this video, for example: That narwhal costume the guy was wearing was based on a behind the scenes video that's out there of Dany recording vocals for the song Disciple on Halloween dressed up as a narwhal. The donut is because Dany is notoriously obsessed with donuts. They picked the guy with the mustache because Dany has an alter-ego on instagram sometimes where she uses the mustache filter and goes by the name Danielo. The women wearing wedding dresses were dressed like Dany in the Que Mas Quieres video. That computer generated stage and crowd at the end is straight out of the Rock Band video game which is what inspired them to become rock stars in the first place.
I wasn’t aware of those Beastie Boys and Pink Floyd fun facts. Along the same lines, I always loved it when Kraftwerk had robot versions of themselves onstage.
The lyrics actually refer to someone in a relationship who drags you down with their chronic negativity and lack of ambition. The new music is definitely more produced in the studio, but as is typical with TW, usually sounds better live. 😎👍
The Warning were touring, so it makes sense to invite the fanbase to star in the video. Letting the ladies enjoy their downtime has to be a good thing. Thanks for reacting.
Yes, they really did this. Those are all real fans, including the 3 that 'won'. They told the fans to dress up as them from any era. Rudy, their manager, came up with the idea. He produced and co directed the video, and co wrote the script. Of course there are Easter Eggs, but no 'The Shining" reference. The fake audience is their ode to the rock band video game. The winning 'Dany' references her "I . G ." alter ego, Danielo. The woman who won 'Pau" , her real name is Paola Villarreal, no relation. Her channel is Lin Vaam, she did a reaction/experience video . to this video, on there. The Warning will be on Kimmel this Thursday(June 27), album drops Friday. You were right the first time, the phones and tech video was XXI Century Blood.

Yes there are plenty of pressures, but they have always kept their fun side and here they include their fans in the fun. The Warning gained about 500k subscribers on TH-cam over their first 9 years. They have added about 250k over the past year. I am confident they can reach one million by the end of 2024. Subscribing is FREE and it helps the channel a lot. There are really only 2 real OMVs before signing with Lava, for XXI Century Blood which you've seen, and a video of sorts put together for When I'm Alone which is mostly live concert footage spliced together with the studio audio. There are no OMVs for any QOTMS album songs. They just didn't have the budget back in those days.
I agree with you about the "industrial" sound. I would call it "assembly-line" music! That being said, the music video had nothing to do with the actual lyrics! They have slipped a notch or two with a couple of songs on the new album, and though I have pre-ordered it, from a couple of "lives" that I have seen, I know that is where I will gravitate to!

Lots of Easter Eggs throughout the video and yes this was a clever idea for a different type of video.The two girls were a take off of the Que Mas Quieres video where Dany played a bride.Here is a question in reference to you saying you woudnt put this music on your playlist from the KMF LP,what about Automatic Sun??Yes XX1st Century blood had them with eye coverings and their phones.They dropped a few videos from the ERROR LP the last one before KMF those are some great videos too.Your not the first one to say you dont like the new stuff as well as the small amount you have watched so far,thats your opinion and you gave your reasons, thats cool.Ive found their music at a time when I wondered when do we get some newer sounding fresh Rock.Ive found a few newer bands I really love the direction they are going with their Rock .Along with TheWarning I would add Plush and Freeze The Fall along with them.

The girls who were dressed as brides were imitating Dany's character she portrayed in their Que Mas' Quieres' video, which came out a few weeks before this one, which you obviously didn't see.

Total fun video. They only gave about a weeks notice to get down to Mexico City for a casting. They always try to involve the fans if they can.
