Ms Alejandra received main writing credits for this song. She brought it to her sisters, and they helped fill it out. It was the first song the band released from their concept album. My jaw hit the floor when I heard it the first time. Then many expletives flew out of my mouth. Its a monster of a tune!

Mike, great reaction. You really need to acquaint yourself with the entire Queen of the Murder Scene experience. Dust to Dust is the prologue that leads the listener down a dark, sinister story of unrequited love and the devolving of a young woman's mind...written by Dany, Pau and Ale when they were all still either teens (Ale even younger). The album is a masterpiece...and their performance at Lunario is experiential...not just a concert...it's an experience.

@@robertott1172 Well i hope it happens again because she is nominated for best Rock drummer of 2023 by Drumeo awards the winner will be announced on 25 January 2024 at the Drumeo TH-cam channel. So if you voted for her Thank you. I voted for her because i believe she deserves the honor. She is against several drummers in her category (Rock) and one of those drummers is the new drummer of the Foo Fighters a band that they have opened for before.

They have Abelton Live running on a laptop next to Pau's Kit. She controls that with a foot pedal switch. Dany's effects board and Ale's effects board are routed through Pau's laptop computer as well. I believe there is also a feed from each to the front house sound board as well. I know from their equipment rundowns that they spend a lot of time programming settings for each of their songs, the more complicated of the tasks are Dany's, of course. I also think that at least some of the microphones on Pau's drums are processed through filters as well. Regarding Pau and fills, I've seen her do fills with one hand while doing something else with the other. For example, on their song MORE, she is striking the cowbell with her right hand while doing a fill with her left. They are well-rehearsed, of course, but with 10 years of performing experience they have confronted just about every situation imaginable and handle things rather smoothly so that most of the audience would never notice. Also, this is a song they play at every concert, so they could play it in their sleep at this point. I'm sure each of them makes minor adjustments along the way.

This is one of the first 5 songs I heard and one that cemented their place in my top bands of all time for me. After 40 years of rock obsessions, that's not a statement I make lightly. Lyrically, explaining it could take a full page, but it opens their concept album Queen of the Murder Scene, and is told from the point of view of the protagonists ghost while at her funeral. She implores us to come in and hear her tale of madness, obsession, and murder. To see how things can go wrong. The spoken part in Spanish is a preacher telling us that salvation must be earned. It's the voice of their manager Rudy. Thanks again. I'm glad you're liking you trip through their world. It's incredibly rewarding.

Dust to Dust is the song that drew me into this band a few years back. The entire Queen Of The Murder Scene album is a work of art. The amount of inspiration and perspiration that must have went into it boggles my mind.

I've been listening to music for over 50 years. I've never really paid much attention to drummers. No good reason, I just tend to focus on lead guitar. The exceptions were Buddy Rich, Neil Peart, and now our Paulina. She is amazing and that's a very large understatement.

Dust to Dust I describe as quintessential TW. Nothing stops Pau, break a stick, use your fingers, keep going, pick up a new stick, do a mind blowing fill whilst delivering an impressive vocal line. Lots of Pau cam footage around, shows how impressive a drummer she is, and subtlety she has spades. A truly impressive musician.

Paulina Villareal is a freak of nature, a supreme talent. This is also possibly my favorite song from them. Be sure to check out "Survive" from this performance but also look up their performance of that track from "TEDx" from 2017, it's even more impressive considering their crazy young ages. Another great track is "Sinister Smiles", but they didn't perform it at this Teatro Metropolitan show, so you'll need to find another version.

Because you said what a bunch of us have said, that the last song you heard, is your favorite TW song, you gained a new sub from me. You now officially get it, and I believe your here to stay. Great reaction! This is the prologue of their second studio album 'Queen of the Murder Scene', which is a concept album. If you liked that song you'll definitely like the album. About Paulina being able to do other things while drumming, she starts and stops the click tracks if there are any, with her midi pedal, if they have a video wall she starts the vids as well and Daniela's pedalboard is slaved to the pedal as well so she can start and stop effects if needed. There's a video where she starts playing and after a few seconds seeing it won't work, removes her boots and socks without missing a beat... talk about multi tasking!

I'm not a follower from the point of their viral 2014 Enter Sandman cover video, but came in during the 2020 lockdown. I was watching Classic Rock Reactions on TH-cam and The Warning's 2017 TedX performance showed up in my recommendations feed. Curiosity got hold and I have been a fan ever since. As an older rocker, having seen many bands back in my teens and early twenties (best rock and roll years of my life), the music from these young ladies just spoke to me. Then I took a deep dive into their YT channel and really admired their work ethic and personalities. That's when the proud dad/uncle, or whatever syndrome washed over me and am now so grateful that I have gotten to see them rise up so much in the short time that I've known about them.

I am one of the fans that you were discussing. I have been following The Warning since 2014 when their cover of "Enter Sandman" hit TH-cam. I finally got to see them live in Dallas, TX in May of 2022 and they just plainly just rocked the house down. I was standing about 15 feet in front of Dani as she played and talked to the crowd. Of course Ale was crazy on the bass, never stopped moving the entire program, Dani was belting out the songs and the guitar. and of course Pau was beating the holy shit out of the drums, just like they owed her money and she was there to collect. ITheir music is the first music in a very long time that I actually bought. The next time they play close to me I will be there.

Been listening to everything from them for the last few weeks and I do keep coming back to a few songs. This is definitely one of them. There is something completely transporting about it. You instantly trust the song to carry you, and it does, and it takes you to the places you want to go and shows you something there. Just about a perfectly arranged, composed, and executed song. But more importantly, it feels really good. I think the ending is underrated with the 6 note scale vocals. For me this catapults it into something much broader.

I actually can’t think of one you would be truly disappointed with. Some might not hit as hard as others but … The Warning don’t make junk. Or I should say they don’t release junk. Even when they have a song they hate (Ugh) they work it into a gem (And end up with 2 more great songs out of it)

The wolf in sheeps clothing. She hits hard and maintains vocal balance. Not many have that natural skill. Going out on a limb to say her style is that of small number of singer drummers from the 60's-70's.

that primal beat that Ale and Pau are pummeling us with is quite something... i can't wait to feel it live... i've not yet been able to make one of their concerts but i definitely plan to make at least one the next chance i get...
Fun Fact: the concerts at the Metropolitian Theater (Teatro Metropolitian) or Lunario are in Mexico City (CDMX) which is 2240m (7350ft) above sea level... that's higher than Denver, CO! Monterrey, DPA/TW's home town, is only 540m (1770ft) above sea level... generally they're not in CDMX long enough to be fully acclimatized to the altitude before performing...
Fun Fact: Pau's home/practice drum setup has 14" and 16" floor toms... in concert she uses 16" and 18" floor toms...
Fun Fact: Pau sings while doing aerobic exercises and running to build her stamina and breath control so she can sing while beating her drums into submission...

    *Basic Warning Info:*
Ale plays a clean bass sound with her fingers. She only started playing with a bass pedal board with effects when she received her 5 string Spector. And that was in 2021. Dust to Dust was released in 2018. At the time. Ale was playing with a 4 string bass. She doesn't use a synth with her bass. It's just the way she plays it.
The lights & stage has nothing to do how the band plays. They don't tour with lights or a stage. Whatever the venue provides is what the use. Since they play at stadiums (Muse), festivals or even bowling alleys (headliner) during the same tour.
Mike. You said you thought Pau was showing off with her hand behind her back.
*THAT'S FALSE SIMPLY WHERE SHE IS PLAYING.* Who would see Pau showing off?? Her riser is to high for the audience to see her hand behind her back. Plus it's dark up there.
*REAL REASON:* Pau was adjusting her inna ears pack behind her back. This was the first song after a short intermission where the left the stage after *Disciple.* The song *Breathe* played over the loudspeakers. A bonus track on *Error* LP that Pau said she will not play live. Then *Dust to Dust.*
The Warning has wtitten 47 original songs (a EP, 3 albums & 2 singles). In my opinion. *NOT ONE FILLER IN THAT BUNCH.*
Mike. Like everybody else that's starting out listening to The Warning. That last song becomes your favorite. Until you hear the next song. *Been there with every new album.*
    Mike. *YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.*

This song is the prologue to their concept album, and really a Master piece, You need to make a full reaction to this album, i would recomend you to do it to their Lunario concert in orden to know who is singing each song and also, you'll be able to watch their performance skills... of course it is only a recomendación but it is worth it.

Someone commented on a video that the fret lights are not built in into the guitar but it is an led strip glued to the side of the bass

Yes, every band has a bad song. With that being said, 3 full length albums, and EP and 2 stand alone singles in, The Warning doesn't have a single one.....Not one. Paulina unofficially has the nickname, The Pocket Sized Nuclear Reactor due to the fact she is only 5' tall but is SO dynamic on the drums. The Warning has grown up on Social Media, so they are like the worlds sisters and daughters to the Warning Army. Meeting them in person, they are the most down to earth, humble, nicest and sweetest people you would ever meet.

Pau was 14 when she she wrote this, Ale in the studio at 12, yes? This album has some heavy classic rock riffage with key and timing changes throughout.

My friend. You ain't seen nothin yet.
Just wait until you check out The Lunario show where they debut the greatest concept album of all time 'Queen of the Murder Scene' Yes I said it!!!
They weren't as fine tuned and their voices weren't as mature as this. The production was nowhere near this.
But the energy and watching Dany transform in front of you into an obsessive killer right in front of your eyes, needs to be experienced.
I highly recommend you make some time in your calendar to do a LIVE stream (as it's a rite of passage for reactors). I can guarantee that The Army will show up to support you. Just make sure you give people a head's up, as it can be an intimate 10 person live stream to an event filled with almost 100 (or more) die hard Army fans.

Yes I'm ALWAYS willing to watch any of their concert with reactors and Lunario is a milestone in their career for many reasons. Milestones: Liceo, Dakota, Lunario, Metropolitan, each representing the first time they played most or all the songs in each album they have published.

Every song from Teatro Metropolitan is better than the studio version. Some bands try to recreate their studio sound when they're playing live, The Warning tries to create a studio sound that matches their live sound. You should do them all, even the ones you've done with the studio versions, like Martirio, Choke, Disciple and Error. For heavier sound, Queen of the Murder Scene is great, but, then again, every song from this concert is great because of their playing, their harmonies and their energy, not to mention that the sound and lighting techs were outstanding.

1st track from Queen Of The Murder Scene concept album as probably many already have commented. Story short - the Lunerio CDMX concert was there they presented the album and you could react to the whole album track by track and enjoy the whole set. Yes, they are more mature here, but back in 2018, they were already kicking maximum ass.

  • @2FlyCaptain

I agree with @mt4design2. This being the prologue song to in my opinion one of the best concept albums of my lifetime you should definitely check those songs out in order from Queen of The Murder Scene. I would also pull up the story board for each song prior to listening so it helps to follow along on the dark and murderous story that somehow three teenagers at the time so expertly wrote. The Warning writes really smart songs. It's often said when people listen to The Warning, the last song they listened to becomes their favorite song by them.

As many times as I've watched these live videos, this is the first time that I've watched them in order, and it just clicked that on Dust to Dust they wear white on a brightly lit stage. The rest of the concert is darker and they are wearing black, fitting the theme. Can't believe it took me this long to notice.
