@@wrx.mp4 it's so simple yet so few people understand this is all true car people want. What kind of setup do you use to record do you have like a suction mount in the back or something?
@@BrayZap I have a headrest camera mount that goes on the passenger headrest spokes with a GoPro Hero 9. Both linked in the description if you were curious. I also just got mic’s that I’ll do another video on hopefully soon that can capture under the hood turbo noises and exhaust notes! Will share that soon
Yeah, the tune makes this car a way better daily. I would get a protune with reputable bolt-ons all at once and get it on the dyno. Don't do off-the-shelf tunes, they're not the best and could cause issues.
@@wrx.mp4 yup that was the goal. Get closer to warranty and find a nice reputable tuner here in my location. Really just want the grimmspeed intake, the invidia r400 exhaust, and aos if recommended.
This remined me of my slow days. I used to love the way my sti sounded with a catted DP, ULH, and the Tomei. But then I wanted power and needed to go catless and ELH. Shit didn't sound the same anymore :/
Yeah I hear the ELH is better for efficiency. But then again, when you have an EJ, I think efficiency is thrown out the window so I’d keep the rumble 😅
Nice car for sure makes me wanna get one even more. My first choice was a Sti but after hearing and seeing them blow up left and right the WRX started to grow on me and heard better things such as easier to make power and more reliable plus better gas mileage which is a good plus in a daily. I know yours is low miles still but from you experience do you recommend getting one and why? Also any issues so far?
If your plan is to do a similar bolt on build, the WRX is much easier and more efficient at making power. The STI can handle much more, especially the transmission, brakes, diff, etc. If I had 30k give or take to play with, I’d buy a low mileage leftover VA or a VB. I wouldn’t buy these much used as they’re driven aggressively, as they should. Just requires some extra attention to the maintenance and tuner (if you tune it). I’ve driven the VA STI and that transmission, the more rigid suspension, the brakes, and the sound (it had a catback) makes it a much better performance car, but maybe if I had a daily. If the budget allows, I’d get the STI for its exclusivity now.
Yes fore sure plan to get a WRX and get it full bolt on and get all tuned and everything and for the more reliable power and stuff I would pick it over the STI due to them being way more sensitive and blowing up left and right even stock. The brakes and transmission its something that can be installed on the WRX which is nice. But I feel like the WRX its more like a fun reliable daily while the STI its more like track oriented.@@wrx.mp4
Hahaha so it is Jerse! Haha I was like wait a minute lmao quick question about your cat back... it sounds amazing but how bad is the drone at like 75 80? I have r400 but it's starting to warp arpund the midpipe and axel back joint. Just curious might want to switch out exhaust
The AWE track definitely has a drone at 3500-4000. The track cat back is a straight pipe keep in mind. I have the AWE touring as well, much more tame and no drone but you barely hear the turbo spool which is what I was looking for.
@NickyStrunz damnit... its still my daily for now maybe keep my R400.. sounds great with the grimmspeed chatted j pipe. Thanks so much for the feedback! If you guys ever go one some drives let a fellow NJer know haha be safe! Can't wait for more videos!

I was worried about fitment with my ride height. It ended up being absolutely perfect. If I raise the height and dial in camber, a 265 would work. Just work I wasn’t up for in anticipation to get them on.
Lots of variables go into what these can handle under certain conditions. Car treatment, the right modifications with a proper tune, oil intervals, oil temperature diligence. TQ is the killer for the rods & trans. I’d say 350 is pushing it, but I’m sure there’s people here that are double or triple that on their uncles cousins sisters special e60 map. My car makes 326/300 and it’s fine for what it is to me.
