@NickyStrunz well bud, I'm about to replace my turbo because the stock one is leaking and starting to fail. Maybe this summer we get a group together and do some drives! Any good spots in Jersey you recommend? Or you go to PA or upstate NY too?

Thanks! Check out JNA Performance for lip, side skirts, splash guards, etc. I went with polyurethane vs the carbon fiber.

You’ll have to buy one used. I’m sure you can find examples on BAT, dealerships, and/or marketplace. Depends on what you’re looking for.

Thanks. The wrx is known for a very unforgiving 1-2 shift. You have to be at a very particular RPM to keep it smooth. I’m also not the best manual driver so mix of both of those :)

@@NickyStrunz Still it's must be such a pleasure to drive this WRX. I think the rev hang thing can be toned down with a tune (the rev hang is actually a way reduce emissions by burning more unused fuel as the air-fuel ratio spikes very rich when letting the gas off just before shifting (momentarly closing the throttle body reduces air inflow upon releasing the gas and momentarly increases richness. the rev hand is meant to leave time to burn this excess fuel for emission purposes but it's anoying). That can be tuned I think. Coming off a 2008 manual impreza 2.5i, I now own a 2021 STI, completely stock. Such a joy. But one day, maybe I'll have my dream car (1998 Impreza STI type R - 2 doors, GC8 chassis, around 2800 lbs, no ABS, IC spray... pure nostalgia). This is a super subjective topic online. I can say from 8 miles new to my now 33k miles, I’ve had a very positive experience even with my modifications. Stay on top of maintenance, let the car warm up, and respects its capacity in terms of power. Above 350whp/tq, your rods, trans, and turbo become much more susceptible to failure from what I’ve gathered. - not a mechanic or tuner, just an enjoyer

I was worried about fitment with my ride height. It ended up being absolutely perfect. If I raise the height and dial in camber, a 265 would work. Just work I wasn’t up for in anticipation to get them on.

I wish I had your brembos to fit in the wheel wells haha. No, with this setup I’ve had no fender modifications or rubbing issues. I did dial the height in 3 times to get this exact fitment without damage. You can run 255s and 9.5s no problem. 265s is where I hear people rub and it requires more camber and extended clearance. Hope that helps!

(57CR’s here in Australia is a 6 month wait as NO shops have them in stock, so 57DR’s it is) and will be running the 255/35 Michelin pilot sport tires. But thanks for the reply, sounds like I can hold off on getting guards rolled 🙌🏽

Yeah, I normally am not on the road when it snows more than an inch or two. The wheel swap is more so to keep the rays clean, and for the temperature rating.

⁠@@k20a2toofast4uI hear there’s ways to get around it but you need to talk to your tuner. And wow, your setup must absolutely rip. This is just bolt ons with 93. But the TGV/EGRs keep temps super low.

@@NickyStrunz yeah E60 makes a world of difference. It pulls harder than the FBOs on 93. I hope i can safely make 450awhp on stock motor with Boost lab turbo, PW intake manifold, GS header, and HPFP and injectors. I want to push it close to stock fueling limit without doing port injection lol.

I believe the VB (2022+s) now have push button start as standard. I’m an old soul and prefer a turn key experience tbh.

Lots of variables go into what these can handle under certain conditions. Car treatment, the right modifications with a proper tune, oil intervals, oil temperature diligence. TQ is the killer for the rods & trans. I’d say 350 is pushing it, but I’m sure there’s people here that are double or triple that on their uncles cousins sisters special e60 map. My car makes 326/300 and it’s fine for what it is to me.

I do too, but the WRXs are FA motors. Quite different setup for the VA & VB chassis vs the traditional EJ motor.

Haha, I picked them up at the Rays booth at a local car show. Wicked Big Meet. I was talking to the rep there for quite a bit and he mentioned they're trying to move product, so I negotiated him down a bit and was about to get them, the lug nuts and the hubcentric rings for $1600.
